peachsmama are they not social distancing in your state? Just curious since you're talking about parties and stuff. I say that as I sit here in Austin reading that they are going back to toilet paper limits and shutting everything back down. This. Hearing some talk of going to stores with their family, parties, businesses etc just blows my mind. My province,4.3 million people, had 69 new cases yesterday and my neighbours, friends family and I were like, ummm ya we’re staying in isolation for a while longer. They are doing aprox 7k tests a day which are open to everyone. My disclaimer is that I know not everyone is like this and/or has the privilege of just staying home but if I can do my part I absolutely will. It’s interesting to me how different govts and people are going through this.

On the same cvoid note. I was just reading a story how the RCMP has ticketed Americans that are VACATIONING here and going through Banff and the rockies, bragging how they got in at the border by saying they were going to Alaska, then my Mom tells me she saw a van with New Jersey plates with a family in it. I know this is very un-Canadian of me, but GTFO. grrrrr

Morning! Yesterday was fun, we had my sister and her family over to grill out. This morning I took the kids to Target and BedBathandBeyond while DH hit Costco and the grocery store. Later today we have my nephew’s birthday party (there will be cookie cake so I am very excited). In the meantime we’re going to try and get some mirrors and artwork hung. Omg, be careful! Doesn't your state average around 10,000 new cases a day right now?? Not in our area, and it's just close family. The cases now are coming from young people hanging out in bars and sadly, a lot of migrant workers downstate.

vino wineallthetime I fine it interesting how everywhere is so different. Jersey was hit so hard at the beginning and we really didn't go anywhere. Like we did delivery everything till early June, didn't leave the house except to go for walks/bike rides outside. People are really starting to open up and lots of people are having parties, etc and I am just so unsure what to do. We've seen some people but only 1 family where we haven't been social distancing (we go in their house and vice versa), and that's only for the past month. I am still weighing if I'm comfortable sending the kids back to camp/DC and haven't brought them to a store or anything at all. I am hopeful with how jersey is, but terrified of the stories I am hearing coming out of FL & NC etc.

But seriously, we are trying to find a place to rent a cabin or something with a pool somewhere but honestly we just want to stay in the cabin, cook all our own food and go swimming. But we can't find anything for less than a billion dollars so we have planned nothing so far. I wonder if whereever we go will be cursing me out.

I'm too scared to party or even shop. I'll just browse through other people's pictures and online shop.
Everything closed back up and masks are mandated again.

Lol, it better not have been! 😉It’s just fascinating that some people think that ‘the borders are closed’ means not them. Hahah oh the privilege...it’s disrespectful in the least.

We are pretty open right now but headed in the same direction as you all. I'd love to go to a restaurant or something but not worth it. We just started seeing some family in the past month (typically outside) but that's it.

Apparently there are beavers near the creek at the top of our street so we took the for a walk to catch a glimpse, but they weren’t there. Did a little work outside Dash pulling weeds and a little work in the garden beds and I’m trying to revamp. I want to have trtlcrzy’s skills. My daylilies just look over grown so I am reading about how to prune them back when I really think I just want to dig them up and replace them with the hydrangeas that were originally planted too close to the house Aw, thanks. Daylilies are basically like weeds, hard to kill. You can probably divide them, they need that every few years anyways. I wouldn’t do it if the weather is super hot though, temps in the 70s would be better. Also, I fully believe that if you have something in your garden that you don’t like then take it out. Your garden should reflect your tastes. This is what we’ve come to. I need a lower maintenance and a minimalist look. We tried last summer and this spring to maintain what was here but it’s not our style. Between our smaller projects and the landscapers bigger ones we can start to level everything and build what we’d like a little at a time. I think the side gardens for now will just be re-mulched and then covered in a line of decorative pots that I can put flowers in to maintain, and then eventually we widen the pathway in its place. And the same for the daylillies around the pool. My problem with any kind of home improvement that we want to take on ourselves is that I am entirely impatient and I hate the thought of doing it a little bit at a time.

Lots of things are opening up here and numbers are staying low luckily (no deaths reported today, 3 new hospital admissions and 74 new cases).
Schools are open, but we’re not allowed inside, the first grade send off will happen outside and with distance between parents this Thursday. I try to avoid shops as much as possible, me my h shops for groceries 2x a week (alone). Restaurants have been open for a month (with restrictions) but I’m not comfortable sitting inside, so we sat outside last Friday & we went to the zoo.
Work from home is still the norm, at least until September. We’ve seen some friends and family, but all outside, with distance between. If that’s not possible we cancel.
ETA I’ll add that we/I’m probably at the cautious end of the spectrum.

guster I live the low maintenance plant life, this is my one side of my backyard that has plants, there are day lilies, tiger lilies, and a lupine in there. They are all perennials and i do nothing for them but cut them down in the fall, sometimesI even forget that, and dead head once in a while. Eta: dont mind the awful looking fence, it’s on the list to get replaced within a couple years

Ours are all a jumble of different things that the old owners could handle and I’m sure looked amazing when constantly maintained. They actually moved from here to a farm in our town so they were a lot more knowledgeable and probably more handy than we are. We have the same kind of fence and it’s being replaced at the end of July. Goodbye money, but hallelujah for a better view.

guster, I get it. That’s exactly what we came into at this house too. I think I double guessed my decision to stuff out cause it looked almost bare, but once it all grows in for the season it’s exactly what I wanted and I love it. Good luck!

Omg, i'm dying, B and the neighbor kid have roped DH into getting them on video having a Nerf battle in the yard, and they want to put it on youtube.
This is possibly the best worst video ever, and I am here for it.

Ds wanted to get a ‘private YouTube channel’, I seriously have no idea where he got that idea from.

The weather improved so it is a swim party. But also lots of games and activities. So as soon as the kids get swimming she calls them out to do a game. Then back in, then out. In. Out.

vino what's your gnome named? I would also be annoyed by the American maskholes illegally crossing the border. I feel bad for the teachers this fall who are going to have to deal with the kids of the maskholes. Because they won't have trained their kids to wear them the teachers will have to deal with it.

Funny that you both mention wanting to make videos. Josie will ask to use one of our old phones that has been wiped of everything but Safari and the camera and will walk around giving tours of the house of she’ll set it on the floor and film herself singing and dancing.

Well that is one of many gnomes that I’ve got. The story is that MH hates them and grumbles whenever I went to buy them, so I did what any wife would do and wait until he left on tour last time in 2017, and bought ALLLLLL the gnomes. We’d chat on skype and B would tell on me to him every time, it was hilarious. That specific one has a sign that says ‘go away’, it was originally in the front yard then my Mom and husband were all, thats not nice move it 🤷♀️, but I think it suits me perfectly 😉

We are the same person. Currently have Ikea, home depot, and Wayfair carts open but cannot make a decision. I get overwhelmed and then don't order anything. Ikea is now open and I need one dresser, but instead will probably pay $50 in shipping and wait a month😵. Mh sees no upside in doing anything that we don't have to do, like K's 9m appointment. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills doing what we are supposed to do and everyone else is off doing regular life. We got takeout for the first time last night, which was amazing to not cook for once. I very much miss my dad's house and boat that he sold - all my friends from home are out boating and I'm so jealous. I'm feeling pretty hopeless right now, lots of people from my area travel a lot and are doing beach trips.

vino in terms of responses to the virus, we are clearly doing it wrong. Some states are doing better than others, but I don't blame the E.U. from banning us😔. I'm sorry people are sneaking in, our culture is definitely entitled and selfish.
