She has strep. Amoxicillin for 10 days. Glad we went so she can feel better instead of waiting over the weekend. Plus we got ice cream while we were out. I'm so happy they were able to see her today. I hope she feels better soon.

We ordered pizza for dinner. The virtual pizza party wasn’t great. We were on zoom and couldn’t really hear each other and it was hard to have any sort of conversation with all the kids chiming in too. We had a 45 minute time limit, so at least we had a good excuse to end it. One of the couples wanted to try again when the kids are in bed... but we’d rather watch Tiger King 😂
We also got a refi on our mortgage today. The banker said we got the lowest rate that bank has ever issued... so that’s cool! A little scary that we went from a 30 year to 15 year, so the higher payment will be an adjustment, but having the house paid off that much earlier will be great

Hi hi - I didn't feel great today so basically parked on the couch for most of the afternoon. Felt a bit weak and my right arm and foot are tingling. Probably just dehydrated and tired. It is going to rain tomorrow, so I'll catch up on a few things then I hope. We did walk around the block this evening and talked to some neighbors, which was welcome. The three houses next to/across from us had lawn chairs and respective drinks out for happy hour, which was funny.
Our first Amazon grocery order should be arriving soon, they had to make 4 substitutions, and I couldn't even order milk, so hopefully this works okay.

I felt good about the online school stuff today and felt like I could do this. After school we get an email that they want to minimize screen time for K-1 and will have a new schedule Monday. Sigh. Just settle on something so we can get a routine down.. This is where I am. We’re on week three and starting a third new system on Monday. It’s seesaw which I hear good things about so I’m trying to stay hopeful.

Hi girls. TGIF. I have to vent a little (or a lot). I have a former coworker who was on my team and we had the same exact title and experience (I had a few more industry credentials). I just learned she is now a Director. Which is awesome, and it doesn’t have anything to do with me because we are in different areas of operations, but man, seeing that really solidified how much birthing and caring for babies has not helped my career. Also, my job is ridiculous right now. We always have this software system that tracks literally every move our mouse makes, and we get in trouble if we have too much “idle time.” This morning my boss sent me an email saying there was a lot of idle time yesterday. Like yes, I bet there was because my job is not meant to be performed while supervising children! It’s a PITA and I am feeling annoyed because nobody else in our department has young kids/multiple kids. I would be so fired if my job had such a program.

Poor H, tgrimes . I'm so sorry you both had to go through that. Can they sedate him even a little in the office to try again?

tgrimes any chance they can offer Versed to help calm him before another attempt? Does a doctor's office carry this? It's not at a hospital. I can always call them and ask. When S needed it for a nerve conduction study, they sent a prescription for it to the pharmacy. Then I picked it up. They had me wait to give it to her though until we were in the office.

And the neighbor down the hill from us has a pool. And our yard is so muddy that A had to pull our boys out because their boots got stuck. All I could think was them trapped in mud and no one know.

cagoldi - The micromanagement involved in tracking mouse clicks annoyed me enough, but hearing that you're singled out over others with more idle time just pisses me off. Why are women punished in the workforce for having kids when men are not? It makes me think of the co-workers who are so impressed with our male coworkers when they take time away to care for their kids but treat mothers with suspicion that they're going to slack off. Screw that. I'm glad you're getting HR involved.

wedding We did takeout twice this week, too. It’s our treat of the week. What else do we have to look forward to these days? I’m already planning boiled crawfish and Chinese takeout for next week. 🤤

tallb tingling arms and legs are sometimes part of my migraines. Do you get migraines at all? I do not. I have read that some people have this as a side effect of covid though. I had night sweats wed-fri of last week, diarrhea on sat, and then some weakness/feeling off/tired most of this week. So that's my only guess. Or very well psychosomatic and I'm making it all up, which is a real possibility.

guster we've been using SeeSaw and I really like it (we started it in the fall but really only to view work, not to produce work). It's very interactive with the teacher, which is great. The only negative, IMO, is that the app only works for viewing work, so you have to upload the work via computer (like if you take a photo of a drawing, writing sample, etc). So it's just an extra step sometimes. But otherwise it's great. The program I see people in our district complaining about is Schoolology, but I think it's mostly older elementary kids using it around here.

Thanks, joelies. I just still feel so weird about it. I talked to Pete, because we work for the same company and he’s a Director. I wanted his thoughts since he gets the same guidance from and directly supervised employees. He agreed she is likely singling me out and the CEO is having meetings every single day advising g managers to be flexible, so she’s not adhering to the professed “company values.” All these years and I’ve never had a bad review, warning, write up, nothing so it seems so weird to feel like it’s come to this. I am feeling pretty sad and disappointed about it.

My memories from 2 years ago just came up with T on the swing set wearing a mask left from when DH got the flu when C was a newborn. How random on a day like today.
