My sister reports that BIL's OBGYN practice has slowed down a lot. Obviously babies are still being born but non-emergent surgeries and office visits, etc. have been rescheduled. They're a big practice under an even bigger 'umbrella', but the doctors are taking a temporary pay cut and they had to cut the nurses' hours. You think of healthcare as being kind of 'recession proof' but it seems nothing but the grocery and TP industries are immune from this :/ 

Usually anywhere between 10-14 patients. Pretty much anything that is outpatient heavy, had cut down a lot. Quite a bit of departments have have had their hours cut. They are also not keeping patients as long. They are trying to get them out ASAP so they don’t risk unnecessary exposure. So patient numbers are down. A lot of people aren’t happy with having their hours cut, but I’m also like- we still have a job, so I’m grateful.

Home-school is done for the week! (Can I get an amen?!) and the kids are outside playing while DH does the yard. The thought of 2+ more months of this kind of makes me want to run away from home...but there's no where to go.

In four more minutes I can log of my phone line. I have been working like a mad men for the last six hours. I’m done done done with it. Dh said to stay upstairs, take a bath and he’ll do dinner with the kids, you gotta love the man. Oh and plus side of this whole debacle is that my favourite Italian restaurant is now delivering food, so a roasted veggies and goats cheese pizza is being delivered to my door in two hours, silver linings or something.

Evie's pediatrician emailed me back quickly. They do want to see her, they want to do a throat swab. They'll come out to the car to do it, so she doesn't have to come in. If it's negative, then we'll do an online chat and see what is going on.

Went to the ENT and it is a tube behind his ear drum. I was praying that he could get it out in the office. There were 4 of us holding him down, I bribed him with ice cream and told him I’d buy him any toy he wanted. No luck. Every time he cried the dr had to remove the tool from his ear. We tried for 10 min, gave him a break and then tried again. H wasn’t having it.

All of the ORs are closed so they’ll put me on the list for when they open. He said he’d try in the office one more time before surgery but I don’t think I can prevent him from crying.

Maybe I can duct tape his mouth shut...I’m kidding...sort of. I just really don’t want to spend another $4000 on his ears.

I took a nap with MJ. I didn't mean to but I couldn't get her to stop suckling without waking her. I come out and the boys are covered in mud and A is playing his video game. M tells me they built a dam at the water factory. They were in the one place in our yard they know they're not supposed to be and A was completely unaware because he's to busy with his damn game. He had to of not even looked at them because they were covered so much I made them go wash their hands and face and change clothes. So I'm pissed and hes asks what's wrong all I said was "I'm frustrated that they're covered and you didn't even notice and you need to shut this off and take MJ so I can do school work with M" so now he's stomping around the house cleaning up toys and throwing dishes in the dishwasher. Then ripped MJ from me.

I got this report of second to second detail that I am supposed to review. Two of my other coworkers had more idle time than I did yesterday, and they did not get this report. This is only one of about eight pages.

It seriously feels like targeted harassment at this point.

He must have realized he was being an ass because now he's sweet as pie. Glad it was short lived. His plant is considered essential do he's still working 40 hours, 4 tens. So he's home Fridays. He can't do school work with M. They fight with homework and M just ends up crying and frustrated.

It’s seriously so weird. Like I am just going to make sure the only one with small kids at home accounts for every second but the others with no kids and less time spent on production are not going to be questioned?

That sucks. Do they have the papoose thing to hold him down? That’s what they used on S when they took her tube out in office. Poor buddy. Maybe they can give him some versed before starting.

Hey ladies. We ran to S’s school this morning because the teachers are making up learning packets for each week and then they are left outside labeled with the kids’ names. I didn’t see anyone while I was there, which was nice. Both girls are having rest periods. H now says she has a headache, which is the same thing that’s been happening with me although now I’m feeling much better. S is status quo, fevers are low or gone but her ear is still draining regularly (tgrimes how long does H’s ear drain usually?). Last night I got smart and put a cotton ball in the ear opening, then put a bandaid over it so it wouldn’t come out. It caught the vast majority of the fluid.

H’s school has now decided they are going to be grading some of their school work so I had to download seesaw. Seems easy enough to upload. S’s teacher is using google classroom so I get to try out all the things.

cagoldi that’s crap. I would contact HR about it. Your boss needs to be more lenient with you, knowing you have 3 kids at home that can’t take care of themselves. You’re a hard worker that has proved yourself for years.

I’m so nervous right now. I’ve never had to call HR for anything of the sort. I think it’s probably necessary at this point but that can’t be good for my relationship with my boss going forward.
