So a week or two ago we were discussing kitchen appliance brands and I said Kitchen Aid is great, even with the issues we have had with our fridge.
I'd like to retract my statement. I had to have a repair guy out yesterday because our fridge isn't cold. Like 45 degrees not cold. The guy yesterday said it's probably just low on coolant and filled it. He said he could see some ice building up on the evaporator, so if it didn't cool, to unplug it for awhile and defrost. Well, this morning the temp was closer to 55, so I called again to confirm how long we need to unplug it for. 16 hours. Tonight I will be filling coolers with all the food in our fridge and freezer and putting them on the deck, then hoping it defrosts enough to start working. Otherwise, we will be buying a new fridge.
And for those of you with good memories, it was August that the evaporator coil was completely frozen up. 7 months. I forsee a new fridge being purchased. Especially with H leaving town Sunday for the week. This shit always happens when he's out of town.

Well.
Just learned that Pete has been dragging his feet on supplying some of the divorce forms (all financial records from what I can tell). They were due the first week of December. As of 1/30, my attorney still had not received them and sent him a third demand to get them in to her office.

Random question for painters here flamingo trtlcrzy How long do you think it would take to paint a small half bath? It's this blinding shiny teal and I really want to make it a flatter Navy. I don't want to over commit though, but want to plan out when I can do this.

You'll likely have to prime and then do a couple coats, but I'd think with minimal interruptions you could do it in less than a day if you're not doing the trim work, too. Or break it down into chunks and do primer and one coat on one day, then the finish coat the next. eta: I personally like to knock painting out in as little time as possible so I only have to clean up once. The clean-up is truly the worst part IMO.

Ugh cagoldi . Your sitch is reminding me of my longtime dental hygienist back in FL. Her ex made their divorce so, so much more difficult than it needed to be. Sorry you're going through this. eta: you don't think he's hiding anything financially, do you? That was one of the issues this gal had...they had money and he was trying to hide stuff to protect his assets, I guess.

In TKD I'm Mrs. FN. I'm going to be a douche though and when I get my black belt uniform I'm going to ask that "Dr. FN LN" be embroidered on it instead of "Mrs." I won't make the kids refer to me as "Dr." there. It's more to mess with the new instructor who has the kids call him "Master Rex-kwondo" which is a title reserved for 4th degree+ black belt and he is only a 1st degree and should be a "Mr."

As far as misspellings, I get the male spelling of my name - which isn't even pronounced the same way - or they just full-on rename me Mary or Karen. My name is not unusual. For the 100th day, Colin has to do 100 objects last year. We did mini marhsmallows and it must have taken 6 times to count them correctly. His class is dressing up this year but I doubt he will - he's got DH's "too cool" genes. Boo! He'd look so cute as an old man. Wait. I pronounce both the male and female spellings the same. What am I doing wrong?

Another reason why I will hire someone to finish the rest because I just don’t see me being able to do it in a day or two. A small half bath wouldnt be bad though. tallb I know nothing of priming though.

People commonly spell my first name with 1 L, which is not the common spelling of my name. I don't get it. More annoying is when I email someone and they reply back, thinking my last name is my first name. Which it could be someones first name, but if you read my email signature, it clearly isn't. For example, if my name was Sara Smith, when they reply to my email, signed Sara Smith, they respond to Smith. It's such a common thing, my boss calls me by my last name. Not so much when I worked, but every so often with phone calls I am called by our last name (which can be a woman's name.) If it's not something really important, I rarely correct people. I have expressed my displeasure (to y'all) in the past with being called "Mom", like at the pediatrician's office. No, it's Mrs. Last Name (preferable), or FirstName. It'll take you half a second to look at the chart in front of you. I hate when people at the Dr call me "mom". I don't care if they address me by name. To be honest working in a hospital I don't typically address parents by name, especially because most of the time I'm going into the room not even knowing the kids name because I just follow the screams or someone grabs me to ask for help. I'm totally cool with them addressing my kid and saying "your mom" but I'm not your mom so don't call me that. I've said this before but kinda the same thing, I hate when people are talking and say something like, "mom/dad/grandma/ect came over" unless it's my sister or something. Otherwise say, "My mom". It's so dumb that it annoys me but it does, especially if I don't know your mom!

jewels I'm sorry S is under the weather. Poor kid! Hope it passes quickly and B avoids it. My friends and I tend to use "Miss First Name" to refer to each other with our kids. I agree, Mrs. LN can be a mouthful for young children and it seems starchy. But once my kids are going to their friends' homes without me, then they definitely need to refer to the parents as Mr/Mrs. LN until instructed otherwise. We use Miss First Name. I grew up only being allowed to say Mr./Mrs. LN. The parents always tried to get us to call them by their first names because it just sounded too formal. I was NEVER allowed to use first names when my parents were around. +1 to all of this!

I agree calling a random grown - up mom is weird but I'm not sure what I would say in that situation.

Discussing names, I'm trying to remember everyone's names from FB because I'm terrible with names of people I've met in person! Curious if you know who I am since we are friends! It's a test! Also I recently friended jewels and worried she'd have no clue who I was. This may be true but she at least accepted based on mutual friends!

Since you’re going darker I’d just get paint + primer and throw on 2 coats. The thing that will take you the longest is probably taping things off.

Typically it's during a medical procedure and I'm talking to the patient or make eye contact/touch the shoulder of the parent to ask a question or offer advice. If I'm just walking into the room I ask the patient who's with them and they say mom/dad/grandma/aunt ext. I'm also not a Dr or nurse so I'm not spending a ton of one on one time talking to the parents and really not that important!

The clean-up is truly the worst part IMO. It looks like a DIY paint job previously and is a bit sloppy on the trim, so I'd prob need to redo that. I agree the cleanup sounds the most daunting..and the taping. I guess this will wait a bit longer.

Also funny story. I work where my kids were born and A spent 6 weeks there after birth. I had previously worked with a nurse that I had worked with previously for a couple years and she was so rude, never called me by name and always just called me by profession (in not a nice way). Fast forward 5 years later she was one of A's nurses and was the only one who called me by name (she didn't remember me and I didn't remind her). She called me, MH and all the kids by name and it did make a big difference since I was basically living there. She did always call A "Milo" but I didn't hold it against her 😂

Grr cagoldi. I've been watching my best friend's STBXH drag his feet for almost 3 years now. He's moved on and is living with his new gf and her kids, and isn't paying a dime for his own. I think he's buying time before he's legally obligated to support them. It's infuriating.
