jewels, the homeroom mom apparently got a class gift with our finds, but we gave the teacher a gift card just from us as well.

Colin's class did their book exchange yesterday and tomorrow they are having a pj day and watching the Polar Express. He's really excited. We skipped ugly sweater day today because he wouldn't wear a sweater if his life depended on it.
Chase is having a pizza and Christmas cookie party at daycare tomorrow. He's also excited but mostly because his room looks into the little kitchen they have there, so he's been able to see the platters of cookies stacked up. Kid wants IN, haha.

jewels I'd give the gift if you want to. Would have been better if they announced a class gift plan at the beginning of the month. Otherwise nothing wrong if you just want to use the gift cards yourself or regift them. Re: Ring. I've read stories about hacking too. I find it funny that the developers named a in-home camera system Ring because all it makes me think about is the movie The Ring. But I guess not everyone is a horror movie geek like me. Also it is so freaking cold that I skipped running AGAIN, so I ordered my treadmill this morning and am trying to give away my old one. FX someone takes it.
Then I told someone at work about my Dad and started to cry. It was the first time I've said it aloud aside from telling DH at home, where it was okay to sob uncontrollably. Fortunately or unfortunately, so many of my coworkers have lost family to cancer so everyone is wonderful about it. It's still so daunting though.

Cass has Gingerbread Day today and tomorrow. I'm sure Maddie will have something special tomorrow, but I'm not sure what. I broke two of my toes last night. So that's fun. Happy Impeachment Day!  |

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. I have today off and I’m just going to have a chill day. I’m currently waiting to drop lo off at school. Its currently 42^ so I don’t want to get out of the car until the last minute. L wants to get out now.

I gave his main teacher and the other teacher from the class that joins his a caramel apple and the after school teachers a cake pop. Today his main teacher is getting a two movie tickets and a gift card to a movie theatre. I also got a movie ticket to the kid who help L with his homework in the after school program because she doesn’t have to but she still does.

It was totally my fault due to being distracted. Three classes were going on at once. Two people were being dicks in my class so I was not paying attention like I should have and I kicked a bag wrong. Just stupid of me. |

I saw that you NE ladies had quite the weather yesterday. We just had heavy rainfall but it was like people in WA forgot how to drive in the rain. Three major accidents occurred near my house and 1 took out the cable and internet until this morning.

Re: the cameras, I’m open to a doorbell camera but have no interest in anything inside my house. I remember when baby monitors were getting hacked, now cameras...no thanks. We don’t have an Alexa or similar for the same reasons. All these companies are mining us for enough info as it is—I won’t make it easier for them 😂 My phone and laptop have recently started asking if I am ok with Apple using data or transcripts from when I use Siri to ‘improve the product’. Yeah, no. I’ll just sit here with Weird Al in 1995 with my tinfoil hat on.  |

jewels I’d probably still give them the gift cards; after the bday party this weekend I’m more convinced than ever that teachers deserve combat pay 😂 We did Target gift cards for both B’s teachers, but I would have loved for the room mom to take up a collection (optional, of course) and do one big gift from everyone. I’d happily contribute.

Morning. Plumbers are here fixing something that broke and also putting in the Faucet and toilet in the downstairs bathroom. It’ll be nice to have a functional toilet down there. S is eating lunch right now and then it’ll be nap time. Happy birthday chrisy01! |

Morning! Both kids are home all day. MH is back to work. My goal is to clean the house and wrap some presents. This has been my goal for at least two weeks. I’m always good on the Cleaning front but wrapping the gifts takes so much time and not have to be so secretive that I may just wait til this weekend when I have reinforcements. |

I was thinking about getting a used one to see if I would actually use it in the basement in the mornings. I have to do something to motivate myself! I’m also very sorry your morning was rough. I am the room mom, and I was hoping there would be a collection but Josie‘s teacher sent home a note asking for books to donate to the Children’s Hospital so it threw everything into a twist. It’s something I definitely will be on top of for the end-of-the-year gift. |
