klong11 I have zero experience with kittens aside from quick interactions. Marty is insane, which I think all kittens are. He’s nibbled a couple of cords but stopped with redirecting. I’m a bit worried about it when we aren’t home. Any tips?

Thanks for the anniversary wishes. My dinner was amazing. DH called it the second best dinner he’s had in N.J.

I do and they love it! It’s the only toy mom has played with so far. I noted that the two cords he was interested in were where he would walk and kind of dangling so I’m hoping the ones behind the tv where he wouldn’t really be walking through aren’t an issue. I fostered an adult cat that would chew everything. Dh made me bring him back after he ate the cord of our internal hard drive. He was the best though. Finally got adopted and a year later passed after eating part of a plastic knife. Sigh. At least he died doing what he loved most!

klong11 , wedding so I didn't say anything because I felt like I failed as a cat mom (it has a happy ending!) but Tigger got out on Friday. Remember how I said Zorro can open doors? Well he opened our garage door while we were at lunch and let Tigger out.. We've been searching all weekend and putting the food, water, his blanket in the garage and leaving the doors cracked. Yesterday A took his motorcycle out and noticed cat prints on it! This morning when he left for work he was in the garage and A brought him into me. I cried happy tears. I don't mind if he comes and goes, our cats always have since we have barns and a farm. But I want him to come in more than out.. But he apparently gained some confidence on his adventure because now he's all over both dogs and jumping on my bed and being wild. I had to lock him in the laundry room so I could go back to sleep lol. The boys have been so worried. I can't wait for them to wake up and see him!

flamingo LOL dolls also spit. Evie is always so excited to see if it's going to cry, spit, or pee. These dolls are so weird. Re fireworks, I have over $1000 worth of them in basement currently. We joked that we should hang a sign up on our door to not smoke or have an open flame near our house. It's ridiculous, H is like a kid at Christmas. Our city allows people to shoot them off this Wednesday through Saturday. People have already been shooting them off. I'm excited for the 4th, when I can sit in my driveway in a lawn chair with a beer and watch my H work his butt off to light them all off. Evie can barely wait, she wants to start doing them now!

peachsmama, since he hasn't been with you very long, I would hold off on any outdoor adventures. Cats have been known to just book it and head to their past places of residency. Plus, since he's long hair and so pretty, I wouldn't be surprised if while out someone picked him up and kept him as their own. If he gets lost again, put a piece of your clothing outside so that he can smell his way back to you. I don't know how or why that works, but I see people on my nextdoor say it all the time when someone posts about their missing cat.

My damn dog just opens doors for no reason all of a sudden. We've started locking the bolt lock constantly so he can't.

peachsmama if he is to go outdoors make sure he is microchipped and registered to you, has a flexible collar with tags, and gets the FelV vaccine for Feline Leukemia. It’s spread easily through saliva so if even one cat out there has it and they drink from the same place, he could get it. But don’t be embarrassed. Accidents happen. Damn our clinic cat bolted out the door once. We found him hiding behind a dumpster in the garage next door.

I got one that breaks away if he gets hung up just because of the woods all around us. He has a tag. I'm going to get him into the vet soon and either update his chip or get a new one placed. He's just so terrified of car rides and hes finally all warmed up here. I hate to traumatize him all over again.

If he has a chip they can scan it to get you the number and you can register it to yourself through whatever company it’s through. Most likely it’s a Homeagain or Avid chip. If he has one don’t get a second one because if he is found and they scan him and pick up the other number they won’t think to keep scanning to find the other chip and will just find out he’s unregistered. I wouldn’t stress about traumatizing him. He will be relieved when back home. Another thought, if you know he’s chipped and was registered previously is to call Homeagain and give your Grams info and they can likely get you the number and update it over the phone. I loved his snap yesterday with the printer. He is just so handsome!

In our bed, on my feet, on my head, pushing stuff off the night stands, just having a ball lol.
