Speaking of parties... Mh took M to a gymnastics party last Dec and the party started without the birthday girl. She didn’t arrive until almost an hour after it started. She missed half her party. I have wondered ever since what made them late. Like was it just the mom not having her shit together, or like an actual emergency. That's bizarre! Like they never said, "oh *birthday girl* isn't here because xyz"? That's so odd. Nope, which is why I’m guessing the mom just didn’t have her shit together and was too embarrassed to admit it. Idk. |

That's so strange lahdeedah. Was there another adult there (dad, etc) from the family, or just all the guests and the gymnastics place employees? Not sure. I think one of her parents were there if I remember correctly. He didn’t know who the birthday girl was at first and when she showed up he was confused. Lol. |

I spent 3 hours cleaning out the pantry because what I thought was roach poop was actually tiny bugs. So gross. It’s been 3 hours since every thing has been on the kitchen floor and I’m still finding bugs in the pantry. Where are you fuckers coming from? Big nope to that |

Sorry for bitching about that party all day. I was just aghast at getting stuck there for almost 4 hours. Several other parents were out of there the second it ended too. I mean, I'm fairly fond of my kids but I dont even like them enough to have a 4 hour party for them let alone a stranger.
I went for my monthly massage this evening. It was heaven. My hips have been messed up since having to hobble around in this boot which is not close in thickness to my other shoes. The massage helped.

Earlier today I was watching MacGyver. Madison comes in and excitedly exclaims, "It's him!" I hadn't watched MacGyver in a long time. Then she adds, "He looks like Rod Stewart!" Cassidy chimed in, "They're both cute!"
I'm not sure if they're my young daughters or the Golden Girls, but either way I approve.

tgrimes, the worst! We just had a situation like that. Like others said, they were laying eggs in our dry goods and multiplying. Hurl. We had to take everything out, toss a ton of shit and scrub EVERYTHING. If even one was left hiding in the smallest little crack or corner they'd come back. So nasty.

Morning! Kids are having an Easter egg hunt. No mind Easter was 2 months ago— it buys us 30 minutes to enjoy our coffee in peace.
Tv related anecdote: we don’t have cable do the kids don’t typically see commercials. They wanted to watch the new Paw Patrol episode, but it wasn’t showing up on Nick Jr, so I checked Nick, and it was there. They have advertisements between their shows and there was one for ABC Mouse that Josie saw maybe twice. I didn’t think anything of it, but she spent most of dinner telling us how she needed to spend the summer getting ready for kindergarten bc there might be hard challenges, and it would be best if she was prepared with math, writing , and reading skills. She was basically paraphrasing the ad. So susceptible! Funnily enough, she never mentioned that she needed ABC Mouse. So the big picture of the advertisement worked on her but not the product.

I'm up. My aunt and uncle brought all their grand kids with them so 2 of them stayed with us last night. 17 and 13 year old girls, the boys are quite smitten and very happy to have them here lol.

guster ads are the worst! C has asked me before “mom, is the reason we don’t go to Chuckie Cheese because the kids make the rules and you don’t want me to?” I also told him I wanted to go to Petco today and he said “YES! We can bring the cars! It’s where the pets go!” He doesn’t watch a lot with ads but whatever he does see sinks in.

Good morning. It’s our 13th Anniversary. My sister is coming to the beach today so she can babysit tonight so we can go to dinner. DH just took C for a walk and I’m trying to get the house in order for the now 5 different sets of guests we will have over the next 8 days.

Morning!
C was up early so DH went and got us donuts and he is now back in bed for a bit.
Earlier, B started absolutely wailing, and then C started crying, too! I was thinking they were fighting. About that time C comes running in and says B fell and hurt himself. He'd tripped and landed on a plastic army man, which is apparently like stepping on a LEGO. As I comforted B, C ran off to her room and came back with a wipe and gave it to B to put on his knee, and was so sweet..."I hope you feel better, Bwad-wey." :heart melts:
At this point I was mentally high-fiving myself -- they do love each other! i'm teaching them empathy! Rockstar parenting! Five minutes later, C bellows at me to turn on Paw Patrol, and as I come in to correct her, the girl blows me a kiss, with every ounce of sass in her body. Back to the drawing board with that one.

Good morning. I was hoping to sleep later but C was playing loudly with the kitten. The cats finally came out last night after everyone was in bed and it was just me. The baby keeps jumping on his mom to play practically every time she moves. She swats and hissed at him and he back away but goes again a minute later. The poor girl just wants to explore without being harassed. I was thinking maybe they are so bonded but then he was downstairs and she was up and she was crying these deep banshee cries looking for him. So just the normal kid annoying mom scenario. Today we have nothing planned. It’s supposed to storm but is sunny so far. I’m hoping dh takes C to the movies today and I’m grocery shopping and want to hit Petco for a few more things. These cats are ridiculously spoiled! Here’s Marty last night as he’s gearing up to attack my hand. Eevee is enjoying alone time in the window behind.  |

Enjoy your night out  guster I don't know that B pays close attention to any commercials, but when we have HULU live on, he does comment on 'why do we have to wait/watch this/etc'? We try to tell him how "back in our day, commercial breaks were about 5 minutes long". LOL. I'm sure he thinks we're nuts. |

I took the older two to Target and L got a little LOL doll since C gets to go to a fun bday party today. The doll is a boy and I was surprised to see it was anatomically correct!

Glad the kitties are settling in wedding. flamingo my kids have asked to skip ads too and don't understand the concept of live TV when I try to explain this is it, you just have to watch it. They have also heard more than a few "back in my days..." and can't fathom no internet, Netflix, etc. |

There's a boy and girl and also anatomically correct. Madison points that out every time. 🤦♀️ Also my lesson to her about periods didn't go quite as I was planning because she thinks the eggs "hatch" and that's where the blood comes from.

We're going to do a day trip to a touristy viking town. We're going to just go to our favorite stores and then head up to a nearby with a children's museum where we can get in free so that I dont have to be on my feet too much. Then we'll take the ferry home which the kids love and M has been begging to fo for months.
