sheilathetank , both cats seem to be doing okay, I am hoping they can both go home to my parents' before the end of the day. It's been tricky because they are now being seen by two different vets at two different facilities and neither is their regular vet. They are special needs (wobbly) and neither vet knows their baseline condition. I keep feeling like I'm not asking the right questions, especially because they have very little idea what got them sick in the first place, and I feel like they keep forgetting about the fact that they both turned up sick together and taking that into consideration. I need to call back for updates again soon and see what the plan is. Does your sister have lilies? No, no plants, and they've been boarding at a pet hotel for a week. And perfectly healthy a week ago.

Healthy cats don't just simultaneously get sick. It’s really a mystery and neither vet could really speculate what could have happened. I don’t think their bloodwork showed any signs of them having gotten into something toxic.

Warning! Poop related post ahead
I need to work on DD wiping better. With the iron meds her underwear has been a disaster lately. I don't know if it's a conceptual thing, a dexterity thing or both. Oh the joys of parenthood.

My parents really came through and have been such a great help and are being super sympathetic and diligent with their care.

Like do the teachers at daycare wipe kids' butts? Somehow that sounds like a worse job than changing diapers.

BUT just because DD does the motion does not mean she gets in the places she needs to get. I also don't think she gets the point of wiping since I have to ask "did you wipe?" Approximately 400x a day.

I got my IUD out on Wednesday. So naturally my toddler is on his absolute worst behaviour and making me question my sanity.

It was, like, as soon as I got pregnant with DD, DS1 turned into this giant monster that had me going “the fuck were we thinking??” I have a feeling DS2 will do this once she’s here

He was so calm and helpful. That being said, he didn't sleep, and seemed to always know when DH wanted to get lucky lol.

Oh lord. We got back from our mini vacay today. Had an amazing time for the most part. I think I only snapped at DH once haha 😂🙈
Of course N needed a real hardcore bath. So what does he do? Poop in the tub! Poor guy FREAKED OUT. CRYING- sobbing - hysterically. I spent more time calming him down my gosh. I was just like it’s ok!!!!! Just relax. Threw him in the shower with DH (who was already in there) but the poor kid just kept screaming and crying and pointing at his poop. I couldn’t stop laughing 🤦🏻♀️

Omg @starzia, M has started being a giant PITA too about cups and wants to only drink from open cups or Poland spring bottles. I’m losing my marbles! Yay, kids are so fun sometimes.

I am kid free this weekend and until Wednesday morning. Every time I FaceTime with my kid he says I’m at work (whenever my H is not home he’s on a work trip). Nope, just sitting around at home!

addymac OMG well I don’t blame him, I’d be freaking out if there was poop in my bath water! Lol that’s fair. I was mostly like — dude you freaked out mid poop. You knew it was happening and you didn’t tell me. Calm down, it’s your own poop. So today he repeated me without prompting - “oh crap!” 🤦🏻♀️ We were on a first potential friend play date. Luckily the other parents laughed and laughed and I was mortified 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ Really need to start watching my language now LOL

We survived our vacation with DD. A five day cruise followed by a trip to the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas in an RV. She fell out of the bed in the RV and I was so scared she would fall out again I really couldn’t sleep. She is such a wild sleeper. I’m so glad I put a bunch of pillows and blankets on the floor. Honestly I think she’s glad to be home...she ran up to her crib and said “mine” and hugged the bed. 😂😂

Omg ttcbabyj that is an adorable reunion with her bed. When we transitioned N to the toddler bed he fell out one night a few times but luckily i put pillows there (and I was right there to hoist him back into bed) so he barely noticed haha.

Since it's been brought up can we talk beds? Are you going from a crib to a toddler bed or to a regular bed?
We have a crib that's one of those 4in1s and we have the toddler rail on and DD is in that. She says she doesn't like her bed so I'm thinking of transitioning to a twin size real bed and have that be her big gift at Christmas. We'd convert her bed back to a crib when #2 comes along. Trying to decide whether to just invest in a real bed or another toddler bed. The room can't fit a full size and a crib and all the other shit.
I priced it out and to get a twin bed from IKEA with mattress and new bedding it's like $400 which isn't too bed but it's still going to hurt.

@sheilatank we just used the ikea crib to toddler bed. If (bigggggg if) there’s a #2 it’ll be in like 3 years so by then I think we’ll have gotten him a regular bed.
I grew up having a twin bed so I’m always like what?? When kids have full sized beds but I know it’s very common.
basically I’m no help lol

That's more than enough until teen years. A friend of ours went all out and got a full size bed set for her son who is the same age as DD and it kind of threw me. I don't know if shed know what to do with all that space. Plus she's been sleeping on a crib mattress her whole life which is basically a foam brick so I don't want to spend a bunch only for her to hate it and find even more excuses for not wanting to sleep in her room.

My plan is to keep him in the crib for as long as humanly possible. Our crib converts but if there is another baby we will likely go straight to a regular bed. We currently already have a full size bed in there so we might just use that (or maybe just put the mattress on the floor?) unless we move to a house with a guest room in which case we also have a spare twin bed and mattress in the barn that we could use. We are bed rich (they were both hand-me-downs)! I am hoping we have at least one more year before we have to figure it out.

sheilathetank - The 2 1/2 year old has never tried to climb out of his crib (**knock on wood**) so we bought a second crib when DS2 came along so both boys are in full cribs. We have one toddler rail but haven't felt the need to use it yet. When DS1 is ready to transition, by BIL has a race car bed in storage he's going to give us. If we didn't have that waiting, I'd probably just buy a regular twin/full mattress and put it on a metal frame.
