No! Itβs more like it was April two years ago (granted, Iβm only about 3 hours from you π€£). We get one or two βhotβ days, it swings back to swing, and then it rains for a week. Iβm over it, and the weather flip flopping constantly has my allergies off the wall

We've had similar but probably cooler weather here so it hardly has even felt like spring (except all the rain I guess) let alone summer.

We're finally starting to see 80-ish degree temps, so we're getting there. We start swim lessons tonight and I'm prepared to freeze my tits off.

How the fuck is it already June? It's a high of 67 today. My garden is painfully behind because of the cold.

I don't know if J is going through a growth spurt but it seems like he's been eating so much.
But then he doesn't poop for two days and sat on the potty for like 20 minutes pooping (he's not straining) and oh gosh it was the most poop I've seen in my life and I was just thankful it didn't happen in a diaper while out and about.

I'm so glad it stopped raining. My sideyard is a muddy pit. I would really like to not need baths and four loads of laundry daily.

It's too cold for shorts and I don't have lightweight long pants that fit J. And it seems like everyone's only shorts.

I finally got that color changing light from Amazon and it came on Saturday. We set it and explained the concept to DD, which she took as a personal affront to her love. To my surprise and delight she didn't come into our bed until 7:30ish amazing. So I'm thinking this is sweet sweet success. (Warning this gets gross from here) Well that was until she whispers that she puked in her bed. Greatttttt. Despite her being completely clean there's a huge wet spot on her bed that smells of vomit. Then she tells MH that she didn't come get us because the light wasn't green yet. Cue the stink eye from MH. Between that and having to hold back DD's hair as she dry heaved into the toilet (which BTW is heartbreaking since she's so little) I'm feeling all the mom guilts. That was until this morning, when DD ignored the light completely and came into our room at 5:15 and raised holy hell when I asked her what color the light was. So we all got up, MH left for work and I worked out. A little later I'm finishing up in the shower and DD comes running in and this conversation happens: DD: "the light is blue mama" Me: "Yeah it can look a little bluish" DD leaves and comes running back in a minute later DD: "it's now purple" Me: "yup, uh huh, cool" DD leaves and comes running back in a minute later DD: "i made the light yellow mama" Me: "whaa?" Turns out she figured out a way to press the two buttons in the front simultaneously to change the color of the light. What do you want to bet that at 5am tomorrow morning that DD just presses it until it turns green and then comes running in to tell me the light is green and we should get up.

sheilathetank, You can definitely change the color of the light with a button on the lamp I got but my guy is in a crib...... can you put him up high where she can't reach it? I'm sorry about the vomiting. Poor kiddo!

DS was sleeping past 6:00, then the last two mornings he woke up yelling at 5:45 again. Both mornings I walked in when the light turned green at 6:00, and he smiled and said, "I pooped." So he's waking himself up shitting. Super.

I wish he would get on a pooping schedule. He tells me he's going to poop on the potty and successfully stalls bedtime because he is often overdue for poop. Sometimes he does and sometimes he doesn't.

We tried camping in our friends' backyard to see how the kiddos would do and man my kid is so good at falling asleep on his own in the crib but so so terrible at falling asleep not in a crib and it was a shit show on both ends of sleep.

Tiny human still woke up at 5:30 today, even with no morning shit. I had daycare cap his nap today. We'll see what happens tomorrow. He still yells for me with the red light and just gets more excited when it's green. Turd. I'm hoping with consistency there he'll start to figure it out.

Nap is 11:30 at school, usually noon on weekends. Heβd been sleeping 1.5-2 hours at school, but lately itβs been more like 2.5+. Eek. Bedtime is 7:30-7:45. He had a 1.5 hr nap yesterday. And as of now at 6:32, he is still sleeping. ππ»

He did wake at 5:30, say something about the light, play with his buddies for a few minutes, and fall back asleep. So progress there too!

gingy, it's probably a vicious cycle of sleeping too much during the day, waking up too early, then being tired and sleeping too much during the day. I'm glad you're seeing some progress today!

I figured that had a lot to do with it. I was hoping to use swim lessons to our advantage this week and really wear him out in the evenings. He swam so hard yesterday, so I think that contributed to the 11-hr overnight sleep.

If the capped nap doesn't solve the early wake up problem long term, that might be worth trying next.

He doesn't always fall asleep immediately, but he doesn't fight it either. Last night after we put him down, he swaddled his Curious George and rocked him in bed. I died.

I died the first time I saw my guy tucking in his baby doll with a blanket. Here is an article I found helpful about early rising.

We met with the new Pedi yesterday. I love her. LOVE! She's not concerned with DD's growth at all. I talked to her about DD's oral behavior and eating rocks etc. and she suggested we rule out any medical reason, such as pica, before we move onto OT. She ordered a myriad of blood tests and DD sat perfectly still the entire time. They brought an extra person in the room to hold her down but, she just sat there, perfectly chill and didn't move at all. They were so impressed they gave her 4 stickers. lol. Got the results back today and she is borderline anemic so her plan is to treat with iron supplements for 3 months and then followup. If she's still eating rocks after 3 months we'll go from there. I'm so glad we have a plan in place and am relieved there's a possible medical explanation behind this.
Now, what I wasn't expecting is for the doctor to find a heart murmur. She says in her opinion it's not bad, but she's not a cardiologist so she wants us to follow up with one to get a second opinion and to cover our bases. Again, I'm fine with this and her assessment but I'd be lying if there isn't a part of me that's freaking out about worst case scenario here. So now I wait to hear from the cardiologist as to where and when I make an appointment. I'd also be lying if I said I wasn't constantly checking my phone to see if I missed a call.

sheilathetank, I'm glad you love her! SD had a murmur that was gone by age 4-ish. Never caused an issue. Hope your kiddo's is nothing at all!

sheilathetank, so glad you love your new pediatrician! I love mine and it's great having someone you can trust and feel good about. I don't know anything about heart murmurs except that J had a slight murmur when he was 6 months-ish but then it was fine at the next appointment.

I've been waffling on this for weeks but because it gets so quiet around her should we start posting a welcome message in BMBs that are approaching a year old? Breastfeeding board does a welcome message on BMBs that's a "come play or ask questions" kind of thing.
What do you guys think?
