I'm so glad it's Friday. Why do short weeks seem to last for god damn ever? The number of times I mumbled 'mother fucker' to myself and outloud at my desk yesterday was terrifying.
I have an offsite lunch meeting with the management team to discuss my plans to find a new supplier in Mexico or Canada. I think we can mark Mexico off the list since our president is a fucking lunatic.

Morning. We’re camping again tonight so just spending the day getting ready and packing up. It’s supposed to get up to almost 90, so it’ll be a fun night as long as the bugs stay away.

Morning!
The kids both slept past 7...it's a miracle! They are currently playing "airport" (?) and pulling roller-boards around the house and pretending to scan tickets, etc.
Just housework on the agenda this morning; DH should be home around lunchtime so we'll probably swim this afternoon.

Glad it’s Friday and yes, mwhip, these short weeks always do seem longest!

Hello. DH is working from home so I just snuck out alone for a haircut while C naps. I got my official job assignment for September and I’m thrilled except it’s in DS1’s school and he’s not. The best part may be my supervisor thinks she’s screwing me but I’m really happy.

Yay for Friday! Also, YAY for getting to leave at noon. The higher ups decided we could leave at noon every other Friday.

cagoldi I'm glad you liked the therapist but still sorry you are dealing with all this. However, it sounds like you are really covering all your bases and making sure you are prepared, which is good.

Is it just because you complained about their new hires?

tgrimes, since you're our resident ear expert, I have a question for you. When B was at the ENT last week, he looked in his ears (obviously). He said the right was was great and the tube was perfect. He said the left one was either really clogged, or out of place, he couldn't quite tell. So he gave me drops to use for 5 days then come back in a few weeks and he will recheck. The past few days I've noticed that his right ear (the clear one) had some crusties in it. This morning it looked... wet. I grabbed some tissue and wiped inside his ear and brownish red discharge came out. This has never happened before. Is this normal? Yes, I know I can call the dr. But I'd rather ask you

jewels it sounds like the tube is working! Your doc may want to have you out drops in that ear, but sounds like it's open and not clogged. cagoldi glad it went well enough, I'm glad you have a good therapist to help navigate this. Eta: I see tgrimes response.. hmm. We sometimes would have dark/blood type stains on pillows and it was drainage. It's been a while though🤷

Morning! I was at work until 9pm last night and then spent a good 45 minutes talking to a friend who's STBXH is finally in the process of moving out (after 2 effing YEARS of separation). DH has been a bit distant the last few days, but he's also busy with work until long after I head to bed, so I'm not sure if there's more to it. So all together, I was dragging badly this morning and Colin gave me massive Mommy guilt that resulted in tears (from me, not him). DH gave me a hug and was very sweet about it, but he and I probably need to talk a bit.
Anyhow the weekend is almost here and I'm so ready for it. We have sports for the boys but that's it, so I will hopefully get some cuddles, rest AND get some work done. I'm drowning a bit at work and while everyone understands that there's far too much on my plate, it still needs to get done. And there's no one else to do it, so...

Even if your sup is a douchecanoe, I'm glad it worked out for you. chrisy01 whoot whoot to completing such a massive project!

Tgif! I'm going to lunch at J's class today. He is so excited, he was wide awake at 6am talking about it. He said his friend's mom always brings her CFA, so I got guilted into bringing lunch in for him, so I'm running to chipotle beforehand. I told him if he wants me to come more often, I can't also go get us takeout, since now it's a bit of an endeavor.
Mh is going to a game with his buddy tonight, so he will be home late. I should try to get ahead on school work but will prob watch whatever I want on Netflix instead.

I'm drowning at work too. I've been the lead this week and more work came in this past week than we normally get in a month. It's been insane. I can't wait to leave tonight and pretend this place doesn't exist for a couple of days.
We found out about a TKD tournament last minute and our family is all competing SAT. I really don't know what to expect and have no real goals other than to gain some experience and have fun. I am going to do the form for my belt and board breaking but I still need to come up with what board breaks I'm going to do for myself and the kids and we need to practice tonight. I think they usually adjust the kids divisions so everyone places and gets a trophy.
Last night we watched the spelling bee. I love a chance for nerds to shine. Maddie and Cass were having fun spelling along with the kids. I love seeing their families be supportive and excited for the kids.

He has not been overly snotty although yesterday he had a stomach ache and was hysterically crying for quite some time, which expelled a ton of snot. But he is on Allegra 2 X per day so I'd imagine most of his snot is being suppressed anyway. I don't have the drops with me but I think it was ciprodex?

joelies, last night when B wasn't feeling well (again - for the 952 time this year), I was snuggling him on the couch while he was sobbing and he literally wouldn't let me put him down. 3 times S looked at me and said "Mom, you can't take care of me because you always have to take care of B, I need to you take care of me." Cue both B and I crying on the couch.

The tube is obviously there to drain any fluid but if it's discolored like that and it's been a few days, it's probably infected. No, not always, but it's always been the case with H. If it's ciprodex, put the drops in both ears.

PDQ
My MiL died last night. I know how this sounds, but I'm very relieved. She had borderline and histrionic personality disorders as well as conversion disorder. She hadn't walked, fed herself, or done any self-care in over 3 years even though there was no medical reason for it. She had been feigning dementia and pretending she didn't know who my husband was. At the end she was feigning being comatose/catatonic. She wouldn't respond to people (including my husband who was tearfully saying his last goodbyes), but there was no medical basis for it and she'd move and do other things which made it clear there wasn't a reason for being unresponsive. She has been psychiatrically hospitalized several times in the past few years, abused prescription drugs profusely, and feigned being suicidal for attention on several occasions as well as had several medical "crises" that were really just psych-based for attention. It has all had a very negative impact on my marriage because MH always had blinders on when it came to his mother and refused to set any boundaries with her. The hallmark of a person with borderline personality disorder is poor boundaries so it was a horrible dynamic and toxic relationship. I was worried how the summer was going to be with MH not working and worried he'd revert to constantly going to visit her at the detriment to our household and family. Overall MH is taking it as well as can be expected. He has been convinced every holiday for the past 5-7 years would be her last because of her fake medical issues so in some ways he was mentally prepared for it.

I’m sorry, inthekitty. That’s definitely been a complicated and unhealthy relationship for very long time. I hope your H can find peace. How is FIL doing with this? Obviously there have to be some serious codependency problems.

I’m watching Beyoncé’s Homecoming and all I can think about is how much I want my butt to look like hers.
This is normal, right?
