It's nearly 5am and I've slept for maybe 1.5-2 hrs. DD's sleep is shit. Waking after less than two hrs after her first stretch. Tried letting her CIO, but she's so fucking loud and relentless. Now she's in bed with me and I'm uncomfortable, frazzled, angry and exhausted with a headache that I've been fighting since yesterday afternoon. I'm so frustrated with her.

Currently nursing a triple venti latte because at 3:30 in the morning there was a crazy loud thunderstorm which knocked out our power for a couple of minutes and when everything came back on, the alarm system we don't have service for decided to set off and all our smart lights turned on (luckily none in the bedroom). Hooray. I got everything turned back off and luckily baby went back to sleep after some boob. The storm was short, so the three year old was only up for a little bit after she came into bed with us all freaked out from the giant boom that sounded like an explosion.
I moved out of C's nursery over the weekend and am back in bed with MH now. On one hand, the baby seems to be sleeping a little better without me in the room, but there's less room in the bed with MH, two dogs, and DD who crawls into bed with us most nights. Even a king is small with that many bodies on it.

I'm in trouble. Little guy decided he would start getting up on his hands and knees and rock back and forth. I'm thinking he will be on the move by the time he turns 6 months next week. C is trying to do the same thing! I am not ready for this. He's already rolling all over and trying to scoot. I got him an exersaucer over the weekend so we can keep him a little more confined when we need to do things, and he really likes that. Oh, and he gator-rolls when I try to change his diaper, every time.

DD is getting ridiculous with how hard it is to feed her. I now have to take her into her room with no sounds, minimal light, and nothing that could possibly cause any kind of distraction for every single feeding. Even when I'm just home with her by ourselves I can't feed her anywhere but in her room in pretty much the dark.

My milk bleb came back yesterday morning. Same spot. It opened up easily but it was sore all day. Still a little today too. I guess this may be an ongoing thing that can come back randomly.
DD got up to her hands and knees today. I helped her a few times during floor play and she looked pretty happy about it. She even rocked back and forth a bit. Later she got up there on her own once or twice.

That must be so frustrating it keeps coming back tbirdlove. Yay for hands and knees! brenna - Aw man. I tried to nurse DS2 on the deck the other day and the light breeze was too distracting. It's fun to watch them learn, but so frustrating when it means trying to pay attention to everything but the boob!

Solidarity on the distracted nursing. C is obsessed with his big sister and of course she won't be quiet or leave him alone while he's nursing so he pops on and off a million times every time he hears her voice. Ugh. Only time I get an uninterrupted session is at night.

I actually ordered something for myself. I ordered a springy nursing dress on amazon for tomorrow and it arrives today. I'm nervous it will be awful.

I just bought a bathing suit and not too thrilled with it. So I'm worried about this dress. 😬

I've ordered a bunch of clothes from Amazon since DD was born and I don't have time to shop. I even tried Amazon Wardrobe which was a nice service. A lot of things get returned, but I have had a few successes.

I've never ordered clothes from Amazon besides a few shirts for dd1. My body is hard to fit into clothes because my boobs are so big but the rest of me is smaller so rarely things that I order online fit ☹️
We did our neighborhood Easter egg hunt this morning and had a lot of fun. They had sooooo many eggs so DD had a completely full basket. One neighbor dressed as the Easter Bunny and dd1 was not sure what to think about it. She would only get close to him if DH was holding her and even then she was like 😒

Wtf?! DD was up at 4:50AM!!! She was sooo excited. I heard a little "Mom! My Easter basket is full! It wasn't a dream!" 😴 Even the baby wasn't having it. He's fallen asleep twice since. Must. Drink. All. The. Coffee. Oh and my Amazon dress is beautiful, soft and I love it! It is a little big though. Which I guess is a thing with nursing dresses. Here is the link if anyone is interested. I am so exhausted and full of food from the weekend! Went to a soccer game on Saturday afternoon (would have skipped it, but it was Kids day and they did a big easter egg hunt and Dress like the mascot contest and DD1 got to go on the field and high five the players), and then came home and hosted a passover Seder for a few friends. Made Brisket, roasted potatoes and carrots, Matzo ball soup, and we had toffee matzo crack and passover cake for dessert. Then went to Easter dinner at my BFF's house yesterday. Oh, and MH got a vasectomy on Thursday, so he wasn't able to help as much as usual. I definitely mourned a little bit on Thursday that C is officially my last baby. We absolutely do not want another, and I couldn't handle another pregnancy and birth, but it's still having to officially acknowledge that we're done. I'm excited I don't need to go back on BC, though!

Dramaphile - We're talking MH getting snipped sometime this year and it already gives me feels even though our plan has always been 2 kids. I enjoy the newborn phase and it makes me sad realizing as much as I enjoy watching DS2 learn and grow, I will never have my own tiny one again. Some days I wonder if I'd like 3 kids, but that seems to pass when I'm struggling to do something with just the 2. And MH is very much done with the 2. But it's still emotional thinking about a certain phase of life being over for good.

Well let your H know that it's not bad at all, MH was uncomfortable for a few days and is just trying to take it easy now, 5 days out. I told him he has a taste of what it's like in the aftermath of giving birth. I thought I wanted three kids for a while, although MH has always been firm on two and done. But we feel complete with two, and I'm at peace with it.

We haven't talked vasectomy yet, but we are definitely done with two kids. I can't get pregnant without clomid and have an IUD because apparently my body doesn't make enough hormones so I'll be on some kind of birth control until menopause to lessen my chances of ovarian cancer ( I don't ovulate at which puts me at higher risk I guess) but I think we'll still have DH get a vasectomy just to cover all bases.

I think we've finally figured out C's sleep! I moved out of the nursery (i was sleeping on the bed in there with him in the crib) and back into our bedroom and for the past 3 nights he's woken only one or two times, which is a big improvement over the 3+ wake-ups he'd been having for a while. Not sure if I'm really sleeping that much better with the dogs and MH and DD crawling into bed in the middle of the night, but getting up less is definitely a good thing.

So, DD had started rolling to her belly in her crib to sleep at what? 3.5-4 months? She's finally, in just the past few days, started regularly rolling back to belly during play time 😂 She's 7 months now. So funny.

I forgot how maddening it is to have a mobile baby! C flips over every damn time I put him on the changing table, no matter what I try to do to distract him with singing and toys and talking to him. I had to have MH hold him down so I could change a poop diaper the other day!

I have to put the wipes bag on her belly and usually she is content to play with it while I try to speedily change her.

Dd just got her first tooth! She's been really fussy the last few days and we knew it was coming 🙂 last night both girls managed to wake up multiple times spaced out just far enough to where I would barely get back to sleep before the other one woke up. I'm exhausted today.

It's time to re baby proof the house again! Dd can roll, spin, and scooch to pretty much wherever she wants to go. I just had to put up our baby enclosure fencing again to hopefully have a safe place for dd to stay put and not have to worry about all of dd1's little toys.

Little guy just figured out how to get from laying down to sitting up by himself!! Probably the only thing he will beat his sister with doing. She was a week older when she learned.
Same here for baby proofing. He's into everything and manages to get where he wants to go. Which is always where he shouldn't be.

P’s tooth is popping through. I just see a tiny white spot on her bottom gum. M’s teeth always came in 2s. P has been chewing on EVERYTHING. She did take a nice long nap while I shopped for plants that I hopefully don’t kill this summer.
Tomorrow I am taking both girls to a first come first serve haircut fundraiser tomorrow. Hopefully M does ok. She usually joins me at one of my appointments in May but I thought we would give this a try......
