akwildI took DD to get her hair cut Friday. She's only had one and it was an easy hair cut since she didn't have much hair back then. But this time she was supposed to get a shampoo and she freaked out laying back and wouldn't let the lady finish or blow dry. But she did great with the actual cutting and styling. Good luck!

Dd has a cold, another tooth popping through I think, and she's getting mad she can't sit up by herself yet so last night I was up with her for hours. DH was complaining about the girls getting up early this morning and I'm like 😒

M did fantastic! We had to wait for an hour since it was first come first serve. We got there 10 minutes after they opened and were number 23😬. She’s a trooper and P slept in the ergo most of the time.

Also now I want to buy a curling iron for her hair because I LOVE it. I have a pixie so I don’t curl my hair. Any recommendations?

So cute akwild. Our girls have the same kind of hair and about the same amount cut off. I've curled it twice and I agree, too cute!

Scored a free Zany Zoo box toy. DS is loving it and weirdly so is my DD.

A local mom reached out in search of donor milk for a new baby family. I've decided to part ways with some of my stash since DS is still not really taking a bottle. I strangely feel connected to my frozen breast milk but I want someone to actually get use out of it. Has anyone ever donated before?

pixiepink24 - I really wanted to after DS1, but couldn't bring myself to do it and eventually worked my way through my stash by giving it to him in sippy cups after weaning from bottles. That's an amazing thing to do if you can get yourself to part with some of your stash. I just wanted to post to let you know feeling connected to your milk is not a weird thing.

NymeriaRight?! Thank you for validating those feelings. Like I can't help but fear the "what if" scenarios that would make me "need" that milk. But the likelihood is so slim. This family seems to need it now and more than I do.

pixiepink24 - You would definitely be doing an amazing thing for someone. You could always give some and save some if it's too hard to donate a large amount at once.

Someone has replaced my child with a banshee today. The squealing is bananas! C sounds like a baby pterodactyl. My eardrums did not miss that phase.

I've donated several times, with DD I donated locally to a few moms through my local BF support group and when my BFF had her son I gave my extra milk to her. And this time around I got tested to donate to the Milk bank which provides human donor milk to NICU babies. C got donor milk while he was in the NICU because I was having trouble pumping enough for him, and now I get to give back. I have an oversupply, so I'm not super attached to my stash, and I like freeing up freezer space.

pixiepink24 I haven't donated but I think it's awesome that you are thinking about it! I'm starting to get worried about dd's lack of babbling. She's 8 months old today and really doesn't make any babbling sounds. Every once in awhile she'll do a few little sounds but it's not even every day that she does. I told DH I'm worried about it and he blew me off and said it's fine which doesn't help my anxiety at all. She's a very quiet, calm baby as it is but I feel like she's behind.

brenna - Sorry YH blew off your concerns. There's a wide range of normal but it never hurts to ask the ped and IF there is something going on earlier intervention can be a big help.

And at our 9 month appointment both pediatricians the girls have seen are on maternity leave so we're seeing a random Ped who has never seen dd2. I might just send a message on the portal to see what they say to ease my mind.

I think it's one of those things that it may still be in the normal range (which I think it 6-11 months), but it's worth a conversation with the doctor if you're concerned and doing an evaluation can never hurt (best case, they tell you she's fine, worst case they recommend some speech therapy or a hearing test). Does she look/smile at you when you speak? Does she react to noises she can't see coming (like a clap behind her back)? I'm sorry YH's reaction is to push your concerns aside, that must be really frustrating and not helpful to you.

The portal would be a great way to ask so one of their main peds can answer the question before going on leave instead of going to the random ped you don't have history with.

brenna I agree. It can be totally normal but also a good thing to ask about. I constantly feel like a FTM with questions I ask but I always ask them. We know our kids best.

She squeals, growls, yells, smiles, and laughs but just no baba/dada/mama sounds. ETA: DH doesn't usually worry about much so it doesn't surprise me that he just was like she's fine, but I just wish he would acknowledge that it could be a concern.

But asking the doctor certainly doesn't hurt.

She's very content to just sit and watch what's going on around her so she probably doesn't feel the need to "talk" very much. As we speak she is squealing away as she's rolling around her crib so I know I'm just way overthinking this. 😕

It's really hard not to overthink things when it comes to our kids. Finding a balance between worrying too much but also being sure to address any needs can be difficult. Recently DS1 started making this repetitive humming noise that MH started worrying about - turns out he was just copying a noise DS2 was making.

I used to be a gymnast so every year I make sure I can still do a backflip on a trampoline. Well, after two kids I could still do one but my pelvic floor failed me and I basically peed my pants on our trampoline 😔 time for more kegels!

brenna - Oh no!! My parents just got rid of our old trampoline so I have nowhere to test my flipping abilities anymore. I was never a great gymnast but I was pretty good on a trampoline.

Oh shit you guys, we have a crawler! > I am not ready for this! DD didn't crawl till 8.5 months and C is just barely 6 months! Now I'm terrified he's going to walk at 10 months like my BFF's son did. I mean, maybe not, but he does not have a history of taking his time with things...
