Thanks for checking in on me! The last few days have been a whirlwind, but I am snuggling my little guy after our first night home.
In total the induction took about 4 hours after the gel and pitocin caused some pretty severe decelerations for him that scared everyone. I unintentionally labored to 9 centimeters with pitocin and no epidural before the anesthesiologist finally got there. The epidural barely had time to kick in before I needed to push. He was out in about 4 pushes, after a vacuum assist and more decelerations.
His name is August Bear and he was 7lbs 10oz and we are so in love. I'll add a picture as soon as I get a chance!

I need this baby out now. Did you end up going with/needing the ECV?

I need this baby out now. Did you end up going with/needing the ECV? No! She ended up turning the night before my meeting with the specialist OB who would have performed it. So now she's head down, but she is still sunny side up. So not sure how that's going to work, but I did read that only 4-10% of babies are born that way and they usually turn themselves while you're in labor.

grover, you are indeed a rockstar for getting all 3 kids out! I have not managed that yet. I agree with everyone that the fresh air can do everyone good. My pediatrician said that we didn't need to be hermits but just be reasonable, like don't let sick people hold them- and that happy parents mean happy children.

Congrats wittyusername . I love his name & can’t wait to see pics! remi & lemondrop I’m sorry the last few weeks I cried to MH a lot about how done I was. Honestly, if I could get some sleep, I'd probably be fine. But when I lay on my right side, I get the most horrific period like cramps, and when I lay on my left, my ass falls asleep and then aches, which makes me want to sleep on my right. And regardless of which side, I wake up 17 times a night to pee. Also, how much swelling is like, TOO much? I haven't swelled at all until this past week when all of a sudden my feet/ankles/ legs blew up. The OB I saw on Thursday was kind of like, meh, since my BP has been OK. But I looked down yesterday at my desk and my toes were like little vienna sausages and I could barely see my ankle bone. My hands have been OK - I can still take off my rings and I'm drinking water like it's going out of style.

Are you able to elevate your feet at your desk at all? If so I would try that and see if it goes down. Otherwise If you are concerned you could call and ask your doctor. I started swelling at the end with my feet but would lay down & it helped.

Laying down at night it always goes away. I dont think i would be too worried unless it didnt go away when you lay down or you had other symptoms too.

Hey orangehibiscus with that labor smoothie did you have really bad diarrhea? No diarrhea actually! I had one soft formed stool, and that was it. My friend said that the almond butter and apricot nectar counteract the diarrhea properties of the caster oil.

I'm regretting buying the giant Mac that needs to go on my desk instead of a laptop. I'm going to wait and see if my face/hands start to swell - it sounds like basically everyone's feet/ ankles get ginormous at the end.

My small town Walmart had it! Let me find a pic of the kind I got... ETA: Walmart had it in the juice section on the very bottom shelf

I don't know what's a normal amount or not, but I think it would be worth a call to your OB at least since it seems to have just come up. Do you have a way to check your BP again? Without other symptoms (headache that won't go away? Weird vision? Dizziness?) I'd assume you're in the clear, but I had zero symptoms aside from high BP when they delivered me because of pre-e, and I always think it's better to be overly safe than end up in trouble, in general. I wouldn't panic or anything, but I think a call to your OB wouldn't hurt.

I could run down to the CVS to check my BP in their machine thingy where you just stick your arm in, but I don't know how accurate those are?

Congratulations wittyusername!! Sorry for all the swelling lemondrop! My OB basically said there wasn’t a limit on swelling as long as BP is ok and you aren’t having other symptoms like headaches, vision changes, etc. I would still call your OB though just so they’re aware of how bad it is. I hope it gets better soon! I had a lot of swelling too. My cankles had cankles at one point.

They have an office within 15 minutes or so of my house, so if they want me to, I can take a drive over there.

lemondrop, my swelling is getting ridiculous as well. My feet look like sausages, but I have some hand and face swelling as well. I have an empty printer paper box under my desk that I keep my feet up on, and am drinking so much water, which makes it a little bit better. I'm not concerned because my BP is fine, unless yours is high I think it's just an unavoidable part of late pregnancy. ETA tagged wrong person!
