Everyone with outside babies- where are they sleeping?
We've got ours in pack and plays with thicker mattresses in our room. However, the last 3 nights they've woken up and just seem to want to be held/be up right from like 3:30 on. Reflux or ?
I suggested getting the rock and play from downstairs to see if one could get a longer stretch, but my H wants them to get used to laying flat like we did with DD (she was in her crib from day 1).
I get his point but I need more rest, y'all. If one is not up, the other is, so I'm getting a few 2 hour stretches and then up for the day.
When do they start sleeping longer again? With DD I think it was like 5 weeks we had a 5 hour stretch? We're 3 weeks today.

Eames, mine is in a dock a tot in the bed for now. I would try the RNP if I were you, do what you can to get some rest!

Eames H is in a cradle in our bed at night. I didn't buy a rnp again this time because I've had a few friends use it and then their kids wouldn't transition to the crib and I'm way too afraid of that happening 😂 So I get where YH is coming from, but also you gotta get some rest, so do what you need to do! Are they spitting up a lot, is that why you think it could be reflux? H wakes up about every 3 hours right now, and then around 5am but then he doesn't really give me more than an hour stretch after that even though we aren't "up" for the day until 8ish. He gets really gassy though and no matter what I do, it's just worse early in the morning for whatever reason so that's mostly his culprit. He needs to be moved around and help with getting the gas out. He's 4 weeks tomorrow. I remember E started sttn right before I went back to work at 8 weeks, which is also when we transitioned her to the crib in her room. I think she just slept better in her own space so I'm curious to see how H does too.

pambee, not a ton of spit up, maybe it's more gas? They also poop soooo much, like every diaper change, but pediatrician did there is a huge range of normal in breastfed kids.

H has poop in almost every diaper, but a lot of times it's not much. In the millions of pamphlets the hospital sent with us I remember one said it really only counts as a "poop diaper" if the poop is more than the size of a quarter or silver dollar or something....a lot of Henry's are more of a toot-poop I think, lol.

Eames Could you start off flat and then use the RNP after the 3am (or whenever) wake up? No outside baby here, but with DD1, I started her off in the RNP and she had no issues transitioning at 5.5 weeks to the pack n play. Another weird thing, is the PNP on hardwoods? I had to put a blanket under ours to keep it from like creaking or something on the hardwood floor. I remember that helped too. My philosophy is do what ya gotta do the first couple of months to get sleep.

I must be sleeping a little, because I had a dream last night that I was on a cruise ship and a gigantic wave/tsunami went over the top and I went under water. I remember taking a big breath of air in the dream before I was pulled under. Perhaps I am stressed?? 😂😂😂

I use the RNP or my boba wrap when I'm downstairs and we have a PNP with a basinet on top for at night in our room. I almost went to get the RNP last night since everytime I went to put him down he fussed but he finally went to sleep. At this age I think the most important thing is just to get them to sleep. No one wants an overtired baby and you need to sleep too.

I went out for lunch with a girlfriend and enjoyed 70 degree weather and a glass of wine, it was lovely!
How long will everyone keep their newborn indoors? The 2 months his pedi recommended sounds like forever, I hate the thought of being trapped in the house once MH goes back to work.

If we were out in public, I kept her in the car seat with a muslin blanket on top or carrier so people weren’t touching. For outdoors, I kept her under the shade and not during the hottest part of the day (she was born in July)

I had a July baby too and I think I started taking her out around 3-4 weeks, on the days it wasn’t a million degrees? There is zero chance I will keep this baby inside for 2 months. That’s not necessary. Just have a cover handy.

Our weather is supposed to be nice by the end of the week and I planned on doing a playground trip so my older two could run around. I was just going to keep her in the car seat/stroller? I’m getting cabin fever.

Eames I use the rock n play. I did with ds2 as well. It was maybe a week of a rough transition to a crib but I found it worth it to get sleep for the first few months!

Ummm I went out like 2 days after being home from the hospital. I can't stay cooped up. The baby has been in a stroller, car seat, or wrap. I mean...my three year old kisses his face all the time despite me asking her to stop. Is it really any worse then that germ wise???

Tomorrow I'm taking him to do my consignment sale drop off and to work a shift. My plan is to wear him like I did a lot of today around the house. That way people can see but not really touch.

We've gone out more days than not since being home. Out to dinner, the movies, Target, church, my mom's and both grandma's. I'd like to go to the zoo this week if I can pick a day it's not raining. Like tapdancer he's in the car seat or wrap if we're in public, but I can't be cooped up or I'd go crazy.

Um, My daughter I had at the local hospital's new moms group at 13 days old. The boys have already gone grocery shopping with us, and I'm considering running a few errands tomorrow. The next MoMs book club book is on hold for me at the library, and I need more snack food up in this house. Planned on taking them this Wednesday to the mom group (again, happens to be 13 days hahah- all my kids were born on Thursdays), at 13 days old again, but my daughter's daycare is closed that day, and she's too old to attend. There's no way I can be stuck in the house for 2 months. I was basically stuck inside for 2.5 weeks before birth, and I went nuts. I figure DD will bring home germs anyway, plus me from school when I start back at exactly 8 weeks off, and my mental sanity is worth getting outside. It helps that I successfully managed taking all three kiddos to DD's 2 year well visit today by myself!!

R is sleeping in the RNP at night (but not rocking) and the PNP during the day Eames. Her PNP has a baby bassinet thing that she sleeps in, which can come off and be a bouncer seat on the floor. My ILs built is a gorgeous cradle, and we tried to put her in it the first night we were home, and she wasn’t having it. We haven’t tried it since. The idea is to soon-ish have her sleep in her cradle at night and still the PNP during the day. Also add us to the baby poops/sharts like 7-8 times per day club! It’s insane how much she poops. She was 1 week old yesterday, and we had our first outing to the OB’s office. She has her first Pedi appt today. We take her outside everyday for fresh air and sunshine, but we’re not taking her out in public (except for appts) until she is at least 1 month old. I guess I should ask the Pedi today if they have other recommendations. We don’t have any other kids, so she’s not really being exposed to germs that way. I too have cabin fever, but I’m trying to suck it up until she’s older.
