jewels wow, that's crazy they would so boldly break the no-nuts policy! I can see accidentally including something where the nuts are more 'hidden', but peanut butter?? Our school last year was completely nut-free. FL was by class. This year it's by classroom, and they designated the other 4's class the nut-free room so we're off the hook. B loves PBJ's more than life itself so I am happy he can have them, lol (of course we would happily not send nuts if there was an allergy). I have no idea what the policy is in public schools here, guess we'll find out.

I suspect we will end up at 5 guys tonight. We are going to our old town for dinner and I want fish tacos, but j knows 5 guys is there...I prefer in-n-out though. Their lettuce wraps situation was much better.

Out prek is completely nut free. And for v day they said no treats at all, which I was fine with. N apparently eats sun butter with apples at snack, but won't eat it on a sandwich...j is fine with it. I need to track down Wow Butter that apparently is very PB like and comes with stickers saying it's not PB for teachers to see.

Our preschool is entirely nut free, and they even went as far as to write in the welcome packet that everybody should consider those with very serious allergies and take a moment to brush their teeth and wash their hands after breakfast if they’ve had peanut butter as party of their meal. I think it’s a very thoughtful move.

There’s a cat hiding from the rain in our playground right now. I want to snuggle it so bad but she’s not social. It’s making me miss Maxi.

ETA: not at WF

I may have mentioned this here before. One of my friends has a son who will be in K with E. He has a severe peanut allergy and an egg allergy. She is very cautious about it. One night shortly after halloween she ate a candy that had peanut butter in it. Normally it wouldn't have been in the house but Halloween. She didn't wash her hands and then filled a medicine cup for her son. The peanut oil let on her hand transferred to the cup and he had a severe reaction. They had to epi him. We have nut allergy in Es class and we treat everything for class activities as if this other boy is in the class. Just teaching E to respect allergies early. They are afraid to fly from peanut dust in the air, even from an earlier flight.

S or I can eat peanuts fine and just have to wash our hands. We keep them in our house, just out of B's reach. I don't worry what bakery a cake is made in etc. But my biggest fear is that his allergy becomes more severe and I have to worry about every little thing. That boy puts EVERYTHING in his mouth and I would be terrified every second of every day.

Good news: Pete just had his annual review. $10k bonus and a $10k raise.
Bad news: Atticus’ teacher just called to say he has a fever and asked to go home...

They (southwest) are phasing it put but now it is on a per flight basis

My friends son has such a severe dairy allergy they wont allow it in their home and school terrifies her. She wont let him go to a friends house unless she can do a walk through to make sure they are very clean. If he touches a table that milk was spilled on he has to use his epi pen. It's crazy how many things have dairy that you wouldn't think.

The GI wants M to do a Miralax clean out.
Mix 8 capfuls of Miralax with 32 ounces of Gatorade. Begin drinking a 6 ounce glass of the Gatorade mixture every 15 minutes until all the solution is gone.
Yeah, this is totally going to happen...

Congrats about Pete's announcement today, that's awesome. Poor X, hope he feels better fast. Is he still on antibiotics from earlier this week?
H made it home from work, watched some tv, then fell asleep on the sofa. He pulled a blanket around himself and laid down, which he never does. He probably slept 30 minutes, then woke shivering and went to our bed. Awesome.

He was talking about how fun it is to leave school early so I was starting to suspect he was faking, but he feels warm and he immediately fell asleep on the couch. I was really hoping this would be the first weekend in a long time that everyone was feeling well. I hope your H doesn’t get hit with it too badly. This flu season is heinous.

Ugh, tgrimes! Can you mix it up for her— some through a straw, some in a glass, popsicle (or even slushee) some?

We must have hit 5 Guys on a good night b/c the fries were perfection tonight. Seasoning, crispiness level, everything. I got 2nds from the bag, which I rarely do. Normally I think their fries are just *fine*, but they can be a bit limp/soggy by the time you eat if you get them to-go.

We got a save the date for pre-K graduation. It's the day after SD graduates from HS. The locations are 3hrs apart. I had planned on her grad night just being a weekend away and visiting the natural areas nearby but looks like we may be on a tight schedule.
