Speaking of immersion programs, klong11 , did you decide about spanish? Yes, I went ahead and sent the application in. I figured it would be a good opportunity and if she decides she doesn't like it, then we can always pull her from it later. |

We have to submit a property tax bill...I'm not sure if we even have that yet. I also need to decide if we are applying to the French immersion program that's offered at our school. That’s awesome that J has that opportunity. Which way are you leaning? I think we will apply since it's a lottery. Decent chance he won't even get in, but seems like a great opportunity if he does. |

Morning! H is at school. I tried to finish up our taxes but I need DH’s drivers license information so I guess it will have to wait till this evening. We are getting a pretty good refund which will help to pay off some bills and allow us to get a little more finished on the basement. It’s lightly snowing outside and cold. I have to work this evening.

Morning all.
If any of you went and stuck your head in a freezer, it would be warmer that what I'm currently living in. It's dangerously cold outside and I'm incredibly angry that I need to make it into work to sit in a damn cubicle. Yesterday was a bad day, but today I'm a little less angry; it could very well have been the cookie I had for breakfast...

I did kinder registration paperwork this morning too. I’m picking up his school health form from the Dr later today. We go to register him next Thursday. They have hours at the schools all week and we will be able to see the school a bit and ask questions.

Morning.
Pete is home sick. I made him go sleep in our room instead of on the couch because I can’t tiptoe around all day making sure I don’t disturb him. I’m more than happy to play nursemaid if he just hibernates out of sight and watches soccer in bed.

It’s raining and I am so over this. Mostly because everyone is so dramatic about it. My mom acts like she is packing up for a weeklong vacation every time she leaves the house and has to verbally list all the extra steps required to do everything because it’s raining. Driving me nuts!

I wish we had a cleaning lady. Right? DH gave me the go a long time ago but I feel guilty since I’m ‘home’, and I’d rather him prioritize that $$ for flying. I am definitely going to take him up on it when we move back to FL, though, since he will be deploying for 8 months shortly after we get settled there. I will have no guilt then 😬 |

Hi all! I was running around looking for snow boots to try on at stores today and nada. I ended up just ordering from Sorel and crossing my fingers they fit.
Ev has kindergarten preview at the end of the month and she is pumped. My neighbor has a daughter her age and a son Theo's age so we are hoping to get on the same schedule with kindergarten and preschool. Kindergarten is half day, so you either do AM or PM. At least if we are in the same program, we can share pick up/drop off responsibilities. The boys are probably going to nature pre-school together. Yay!

K registration was on my list of to-dos this week too. At least if I can get a good enough connection on my phone because whatever system they use doesn't work on my work computer. Hopefully it'll be fairly easy and just grab info from Maddie's profile. When I filled hers out it took for.ever. I got everything together and all the additional documents needed. I told MH when he was scheduled to take her down to the district office to drop off the forms/sign docs. He preened that when he got there the receptionist was surprised and praised him because no one ever fills out the packet in advance. Of course he didn't say that I did it.  |

We ran up to Target and I got a few odds and ends, then mailed a Valentine treat to my nephew. I got C her first cake pop at the Target Starbucks (thinking that would allow me to eat my coffee cake in peace) but silly me, she wanted both!
We are now home, she has stripped off her shirt in favor of a princess costume, and I’m trailing in her wake tidying up.

Re: kindergarten, supposedly our school is having an orientation for rising K’ers this month or next, and then they offer something in April where the kids get to go and see their classroom, ride a school bus, etc. while parents register. B really wants to ride the bus and the stop is about 50’ from my house, and they’ll drop off at our driveway, so I’m leaning towards letting him at least for this year.

I will have no guilt then 😬 My BFF is in Jacksonville because her H is a navy pilot. She’s a SAHM and she got a cleaning lady, too. Hey, I have a hard enough time keeping this place livable with a husband who is pretty helpful. If he were not home for an extended period, he’d have to find the $$$ for some outside help. Get it, girl. |

I haven’t taken the time to find a cleaning lady here, but it’s a lot of house for me to keep up with. I prioritized so many other things because I thought, hey I’m home I can do this, but I am exhausting myself trying to keep up with it.

I’m feeling this now, too, with trying to get some stuff done for X and special ed. It seemed straightforward enough with Dude, but getting X registered is a completely different story. We decided we will go ahead and send him to public preschool (same school Dude attends) and they can do his therapies there. Since they think he will need special ed, might as well get everything situated there rather than wait until TK or K, and he can start to get acclimated to the teachers and aides. They opened up preschool registration last month, but when I try to fill out our forms, it says he’s not old enough? They used to do registration in March so I’m thinking they haven’t yet updated the system to adjust for the fact that yeah, if you move up the registration date the kids who will be three in September aren’t yet 2.5 in January. |
