Hi. Happy Friday. I was the mom who forgot my kid at preschool today. Ooops! To be fair, My sister usually does pick up for N and my nephew. She is out of town this weekend and her ILs are watching her kids. I completely forgot that she wouldn't be picking N up. Thankfully, I was able to get there within 10 minutes of them calling and N wasn't too upset about it.
DH is going fishing all weekend. He'll only be about 10 minutes away, but I don't plan on seeing him at all. I'm looking forward to a quiet night with the kids tonight.

Gift ideas needed.... A good guy friend of ours got engaged over the holidays. I've only met his fiance twice (they just started dating in the summer). They are eloping in a few weeks on a beach in florida, just the 2 of them. He is a great guy and I'm very happy for him.
Anyway, another friend is hosting a bridal brunch for the bride. It's not a shower, so gifts aren't expected, but I want to bring something. They aren't registered for anything. They will be moving in together after the wedding and I have no idea what they would need once they do.
Any suggestions? I want something thoughtful but not over the top, since they are pretty minimalist and don't want to make a "thing" out of getting married.

He's going to be okay. Not sure about his hand/arm yet. He was checking his breaks as the bed was coming down and didnt realize it was so low. Got his hand and arm pinned between the bed and rail. He can move his fingers but cant feel anything except pain. Hes in a lot of pain. This is the truck and trailer type for those that aren't familiar. Worst part was he was in the back of the plant. He yelled for help for a while before calling my mom to call the job site to get someone back there to raise the bed. Because you have to do that from inside the truck. He was pinned for about 20 minutes before they could reach someone to get back there to release him.  |

peachsmama that’s terrible but I guess not as bad as it could have been. Hopefully they can treat the pain and then see what else needs to be done.

slenle do they drink wine? We did some cute basket with all different types of wine that had some poem to go with it about when to drink each bottle for my cousin.

jewels we watched A Princess Bride a couple months ago. The girls loved it! It's one of S top 5. I've been wanting to show him Gremlins too. He likes the Neverending Story as well. Both kids love the Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory from the 70s. B will pull up his little Anywhere Chair and just keep saying "I Watch Charlie!!" over and over again till we put it on. It was one of my favorites as a kid so I love how much they love it! |

The doctor looked at xrays and nothing is broke. He doesn't think that's even possible so they're doing a different xray that is stronger and can see the smaller bones better. Luckily he had gloves on or he wouldn't have any skin left..

peachsmama I'm glad to hear it's just his arm. When you said he was pinned I pictured a Signs car accident type of pinning. I hope they can give him something for his pain.

It’s cute but not cheesy. One is labeled for the first night in your new home, one is for your wedding night, one for your first make up after a fight, etc. |

They're now saying it's a crush injury. Which is apparently worse than broken bones. His pain level wont come down. They just gave him something stronger for that.

wedding Can you do it Tuesday instead? I just got a call from DC that S has a fever. Ugh. Both Flu and Strep are going around his classroom and his BFF has Croup. Fingers crossed it's just a fever and doesn't progress into anything! MH is working from home and trying to get off a conference call to go get him. I'm heading out of here shortly.

Someone called in sick so I said I’d work in the ER tonight from 6:30-midnight. I haven’t worked there in a while and I think some things have changed a bit so I hope it’s not too much of a struggle to get back in the groove.
H got to take home Pete the cat for the weekend, next week she’s star of the week. So now I have to plan activities and write a thing in the “journal” about our weekend. I love it when teachers give parents homework. Although H was super excited to bring it home.

peachsmama Glad he's okay. Those big trucks are so scary. Anecdote-H used to work on semis and the trailers. One Saturday, him and a coworker were working on a trailer at a customer location and the coworker didn't chalk the wheels on the trailer well. It moved slightly and slipped off the jacks, pinning H and coworker. They yelled for 15-20 minutes before the customer heard them and found them. H had a trailer sitting on his calf, he has a huge scar on his calf and has no feeling and is convinced it's part of what messed his knee up (the same one he had replaced last year). Coworker lost a lung. They were both in the hospital for a few weeks and off work for months. This was before we met. He blames it all on coworker getting in an argument with his wife on the phone right before they started, and not being careful.

slenle my go-to for situations like that is a beautiful silver picture frame (for a wedding photo or whatnot). Kate Spade has pretty ones, as does Pottery Barn and places like that.

mwhip We also do make your own pizzas for lunch a lot. Often we just make a big salad or do leftovers which I know is not helpful to you. I like the make your own idea...then no one can bitch. I'll look for some of the mini pizza crusts at the store. Use naan (aldi has them) or tortillas |

He fractured one bone in his wrist. Baffling. Nerves are shocked and that's why he cant feel anything. Watching the swelling for 4 hours and as long as it doesnt get worse he can go home tonight.
