DS goes back to school and DH is back at work today. Praise be!!
I put the kids to bed at 5pm last night! They were absolutely melting down. DH had been in charge of them for the last couple of days and their routines went to shit. DS of course was up at the crack of dawn (5am) but the girls slept until 7 and 730. Today I plan to finish catching up on laundry and tidy a bit more. I’m scrubbing my floors so hard on Thursday when I’ll be home alone post night shift.
DD2 is finally getting some more teeth. She’s only had the bottom two forever. Now 4 on the top are coming through all at once. No wonder she’s been a hot mess.
Hope everyone had a good holiday and we can all get back to our normal routines!

I'm here! Not much going on except I'm back to work today. E actually slept fairly decently for him. Only one real wake up in the night and he went back to sleep pretty quickly. He took about 3 real steps yesterday. He has also somewhat figured out how to get out of the chairs the boys got at Christmas so that's a little more calming for me. Earlier in the weekend, he discovered he could stand in them without holding on. I'm not ready for this stuff.

AJ is now running and can stand without pulling himself up on anything. I swear this happened over night and I dont like it lol
I dyed ds1s hair last night. He wanted highlights and it looks really good! He just texted me that he's getting made fun of and it makes me sad

quinn I'm sorry, why are kids so mean? Awesome about aj walking though! Ds2 has been walking since right before Christmas but still needs something to pull up on to start.

Inspired surely by the MOTN puke discussion (it was either in the UO or FFFC thread, I can't remember which), N had a no-fooling, mind-the-chunky-bits throw up at midnight on Friday. He was fine leading up and after, we stuck to bland foods on Saturday to be safe, and he seems fine. Sunday he was full of beans. So I tried giving him milk.
He took a sip from his straw cup, and then started refusing it. So I put it in a bottle. He refused that. So I mixed a little in with formula. He refused that. Then he refused ANY bottle, even just formula, and any food that wasn't waffles or crunchy snacks. I probably should have waited until he was more clear of his tummy issues (but he really seemed fine and hasn't been sick since that one time Friday night). I talked to DC this morning and they will try giving him milk during the day so we can get him on it.
My mom thinks another issue was that I was giving the milk to him cold. Even though he's been taking some cold bottles at DC, he's used to room temp or slightly warmer at home, so maybe I will try slipping some in his bottle tonight. H will be home so if I have to make an emergency new bottle, I have an extra set of hands to help lol.

Happy Monday, all! Happy for me because I’m off work and the kids are at day care. 🙌🙌🙌 I got to meet the new 3.5 month old squish at DcP’s and omg he is adorable.
I already finished laundry this morning and am in the parking garage about to head up to OTF. Starting the week on a strong note (and trying to ignore that I will have to work Saturday, lol).

Happy(ish) Monday!
N has slept through the night the last, I think, 5 nights in a row. I don't know what kind of witchcraft or wizardry this is, but I will take it! Maybe he finally hit his stride. He hadn't even made so much as a peep during the night any of the nights. We'll see how he naps at daycare today though. I decided today would be the day we take away his last bottle. He only takes it just before nap at daycare M-F and sleeps fine the days he doesn't even take one. I just sent his cashew/almond milk to give with lunch in a sippy instead. I am hoping it goes well so I can rid our house of the ungodly stash of bottles and nipples that we have accumulated over the years.
Related to the walking/running talk...I was watching N run around last night and realized just how much of a baby he isn't anymore. He is so good at catching his balance and if he does fall, he just stands right back up and keeps going. He was playing fetch with himself by throwing this soft block we have, running after it, and then throwing it back. He's just gotten so smart in the last few weeks, even more so the last week. It is bittersweet. I am thrilled to watch him grow and learn but he's still my last baby and that makes me misty.

We were going on...well, forever, of shitty sleep before he just suddenly starting sleeping through. He has recurring ear infections and I think we got rid of one just as a molar came through and everything settled just right. I totally don't think it will stick but it is nice for now!

B moved up to the toddler room today. He did great at drop off and I feel like he’s been ready. We just need to get him walking. He has really good fine motor skills but he won’t let go.
We are still struggling with him taking whole milk. It’s getting better but I’m not 100% ready to wean him completely, even though mentally I’m done. The lack of sleep isn’t helping either.

Mmmmmm I’m grabbing lunch at a local brewery because it’s next door to a smog test place. It’s so tempting to have a pint! 🤣

Boys went to the IL's at lunch and I need to go get them in about an hour. Trying to clean up their coat, shoe and backpack closet and I'm struggling how to make it work so they will be able to find things and put things away on their own.
DS3 has had full on liquid poop since last night. It is the worst I've ever seen. The diaper can't even attempt to hold it. So gross. Trying to bribe him onto the potty for BMs, but he is not budging.
Fun day here. 🤣

rooskie DD2 won’t let go either. She is so so close to walking but will hold our hand going in circles instead of letting go. 😂 DD1 has been walking her around the living room and it is so sweet. She is the best big sister.

quinn - sending you hugs and booze! That sounds beyond rough! My mom was right - for N’s bedtime bottle I mixed formula and milk, and warmed it first. Success! Tomorrow I will send one formula/milk bottle to DC, and see how he does with it when he’s not tired lol. (Don’t want to send all his bottles as a mix in case he refuses it, then he wouldn’t have anything to drink except water and I don’t see that going over well 😂) Now to just get him on cheese... 🧀😂 He didn’t nap much today so I’m anticipating a rough night but I will take this tiny win.

They have a lot more things for him to pull up on in there so that helps too.

Hi everyone, busy at work, no time to post 😣 nights are well, nights. Need to start getting more exercise, but struggling!

quinn 🤣 rooskie we aren’t walking yet either. He could do it but just won’t let go either. I’m shocked he hasn’t taken off. We’ve been saying any day now for 2 months. 😂 He is starting dc next week. I have to provide food for the infant room. DD’s dc never required that so I’m worried about planning meals for him and how much! Kid eats so much but I don’t really keep track of quantity.

DS2 has been throwing up now too. I can get back to sleep and there are kids all over the house because their beds are inhabitable and their room stinks too.
Tuesday is supposed to be everyone's first day back after break. I need my break, not sick day for all.

Ds1 woke up screaming his head off (he’s 6) at 6:00am. After I calmed him down, I believe he had a nightmare and wasn’t actually awake so I forgive him. However he did now wake up N and he won’t go back to bed. So it’s 6:30 and the two boys are in the bath
N has super goopy eyes. It’s gross. I Keep squirting breastmilk into them In hopes it will help clear them out.
We have our playgroup today. But I’ll see how we are all doing before I decide to go. I anticipate N being a mess this morning because of the early morning so 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️ I want to bring him anywhere.
