Ds2 has been up since 1045pm and I asked dh to hold him for a little bit. That lasted approximately 5 minutes until dh put him back in his crib. Cue immediate sobs from ds2. Like wtf. Next time, just tell me you don't want to help. Jerk.

I got up at 6 when H left for work this morning because I figured E would be up soon, but here we are at 7:15, and she’s still asleep. Of course.
It’s only going to be in the 20s today, so I don’t really want to run with her in the stroller. I might actually bring her to the gym babysitting room for the first time. I don’t know why I’m so nervous about doing that!

Gym babysitting was a success! She was shy at first, but then she started to play and cried when I picked her up to leave. Maybe now I’ll get back into an after work running routine.

We went to church early this morning and are hanging out at my mom's so H can sleep. We got official notice that he will be the next moved to day shift- could be as early as March or into the summer but at least there is an end in sight!!
We installed the new carseat so no more baby carrier 😭

Weekend is pretty nice so far. We had a low key baby shower for a guy friend of ours at a bar and it was a good time! He's no longer with the mother and the baby came early but is doing well! He's going to be living with us once his current lease is up. I'm excited to have a new baby to snuggle ☺️ That's really nice and accommodating of you to let him crash with you guys! He was the best man in our wedding and I figured he can use some guidance in those first few months. ☺️ They are doing 50/50 custody until he gets deployed overseas in July and then he'll stay with us a little bit when he gets back until he finds a new place. It makes the most sense all around and I get baby snuggles out of it too! I'm hoping she'll let me help her out and watch the baby while he's gone too.

Glad the party went well, grumpycat! Such a fun idea How are the boys today, sarahandben108? Yesterday started weird with N screaming after he ate breakfast and rubbing his ear. Even though I’ve been pretty sure it was teething, he did just come off an ear infection, so I called the pedi (because if the antibiotics didn’t work, I didn’t want him suffering until his follow up on Wednesday). Ears are fine, definitely teething. So no more antibiotics for now! He ate some chicken nugget at lunch yesterday (and more today)! He’s also been doing some more playing on his own as opposed to constantly clinging to me and playing with toys while sitting in my lap. Woohoo! There’s a few inches of snow on the ground, but we don’t have a snowsuit for N yet so we’re staying inside where it’s nice and warm lol. Which is fine, because my Pats are playing right now. We put protective padding on the corners/edges of our coffee table and stuff. N likes to pull it off and play with it, so we have been very firmly telling him “No!” Then he’ll shake his head... and go back to playing with the padding. 🤷♀️

AJ climbed up on the coffee table this morning 😯 He is such a little monkey with absolutely no fear. Terrifying
Ds1 is going bowling later with some friends so I'm going to go grocery shopping while he's out.

Ds started scaling a bookshelf yesterday. Can’t walk but can climb. 🤦♀️ (I’ll post a pic in the private page)

She walks! Finally. We took her to the duck pond and she's just like ok no big deal I'll take a ton of steps. DH was really close to her the whole time. See my IG for video 😅 thatgolfb, first sleep over? Amazing! quinn, DD likes climbing too, our coffee table must be too high though. cakewench, glad his ears are better and he likes chicken nuggets, hehe. Yay bethkate, glad you found an alternative for cold days. It was really nice here today hehe.

Ds2 is getting another cold and is teething so he was a huge grump this evening. He went to bed at 530... I'm a little scared for how the night is going to go.

Ds2 has been a disaster. He's got at least one tooth on both sides of the top coming in (one canine and either a canine or a molar) and stuff on the bottom too. 😭 I hope he sleeps for you!!

You too!!! He's cried out once but settled before I could even react. I loaded him with ibuprofen so fx. 😬

I’m seriously wondering if I should just give Motrin every night from age 1-2. I’m dying here. He’s got one bottom molar with the spikes poking out and the other is just there. For 6 weeks now.

I've been giving tylenol before bed. Not that it seems to be helping much. I tried Advil last night and had the same results. He's been up since 11. Dh wanted to try some sleep training (dumb idea, but I let him try. A seriously teething baby does not sleep train). 🙄 So now I'm nursing the poor kid and hopefully he will go back down for a couple hours. I need the rest. I came down with some gross cold symptoms earlier today. Nothing like four days of garbage sleep to fuck up your immune system.

Add us to the illness/teething equal shit sleep. DD2 sounds croupy. She was up 3 times overnight.

Our pedi said Motrin/ibuprofen is better since it lasts longer and helps with inflammation (of course if an aspirin allergy is likely, stick with Tylenol). It’s been working for us so far. *knocks wood*

For us the Tylenol would take up to an hour to kick in, so we started giving it to him about 30-45 minutes before we start putting him to bed. Because the nights we didn’t, he literally screamed for an hour until it started working 😞 Good luck!
