+1 to the no sleep club.
He went down at 7 fine, but was up from 10-12:30 or 1. I lost track. I finally just gave Motrin at 12:15, offered him water, put him in the crib and shut the door. He babbled a little but then passed out.
And was up 3:15-4:30 and at 6 for the day.
Tomorrow I’m going to WFH so I can take a nap.
I’m pretty sure he’s working on another tooth. I’m over it.

C’s 12 month onesies were getting a bit snug so I got out the tote of Ds1’s old 18 month clothes. I was digging through it and realized that’s when I must’ve stopped buying onesies, because it was mostly regular t-shirts/long sleeved shirts. 😫 he needs to stay a baby! I think about 1/2 way through buying 12 month clothes for DS1 I stopped buying onesies. I don't actually remember the last time I put N in a onesie and he is in 12m and 12-18m clothes. I prefer not using onesies but I agree that it definitely means the end of them being babies and that I don't agree with.

I have lots of feels when he's in his "real" clothes- so cute but where is my baby!!!

We don’t use onesies because of cloth diapers but I have overalls and things and they always make them look so big. DD2 seems monstrous to me compared to my fresh out of the oven patients at work. I can’t believe these kids are 13+m old 😢

I'll keep DD in onesies a lot until she's walking most of the time. Otherwise shirts just ride up and her diaper sticks out! Hi thatgolfb, glad you had a busy day I'm just eating lunch and catching up. Anyone watch Homecoming on Amazon yet? It's with Julia Roberts. We're through 7/10 episodes. One of those shows where I can't decide if it's good or not until the end.

I don’t think N will ever 1) wean and 2) STTN. 😆 I’m exhausted. He has one word and it’s mama at the top of his lungs pretty much all day. Also highly irritating. He did walk around all morning on Monday saying “rah” and looking in rooms and places. Finally I figured out he was looking for Nora 😂. Also only has 8 teeth. Literally has not got a new one since like 9 months. By other kids had all teeth by this point. He was uncharacteristically crabby today. Thought maybe he is getting some more but I don’t think so. DD2 still only has 6 teeth at 14 months. I think DD1 had more by this point.

cdnfarmgirl oh how cute, I love that he was looking for his sister. Today C ran up to ds1, gave him a big hug, bit his arm, and then laughed when ds1 said “ow!” DD2 likes to hit something and then proudly say "ow." Just like she likes to throw things on the floor and say "uh oh." I'm like, this is not how it works...

You guys I just had a phone interview for a different position and I’m cautiously excited. My current job is a 9 hr shift with a 1 hr lunch, this would be 8.5 hr shifts with a half hour lunch (7:30-4 -amazing!). It would also be a $6/hr (!) pay raise. And it’s really close to my gym so it would be easy to work out right before or after work. Plus I could wear real clothes (business casual) instead of scrubs, and actually drink water at my desk. The only con is that it sounds kind of boring, but I would definitely do a job shadow first to make sure it’s a good fit.

I loooooove my (usually) 7:30-4 schedule and happy to only have the half hour lunch, because it means getting out a half hour sooner. My new OTF studio is also very close and going before work and showering there works out very well. And $6 increase is awesome! I am excited for you!!

Good luck pootsen!! Although I gotta say, I would LOVE to be able to wear my scrubs again... I dislike business casual lol. Definitely job shadow and talk to them about what provides them job satisfaction. When I left bedside nursing I was very nervous I'd feel dissatisfied and while I do sometimes miss hands on patient care I do really like my job.

I'm in the not STN club, last night was so bad I was able to catch up on the Royals thread at 4am. But I'm getting nothing done during the day that I can't do with a baby on my hip or screaming at my feet while trying to bite my legs. A is our first biter and I am NOT a fan. Lucky for him, he is so sweet and adorable.

It is official. The boys love to watch college basketball and are slightly obsessed with the local team. I've lost my evening TV time with H to sports. It is cute listening to them, but I'm not loving it and realize this is now my life.

Hi! I haven't read so hugs and high fives as needed.
H started his new job this week which includes a three hour round trip commute until we move this summer. He doesn't get home until like 7pm whereas before he usually got home before me, and as a teacher my work day ends earlier than most at 3:15. So it's been an adjustment and I've been busy, busy in the evenings and super busy at school as the semester starts to wrap up.
We're getting obliterated with snow right now and somehow my district is the ONLY one in the region not on a delay. I'm at an inner city school so the bulk of our students walk. It's below 0 windchills and up to 40mph gusts. Poor kiddos. My drive in was dicey too. Pitch black, snowy, windy, and the highway I take in was not well cleared at all. I'm nervous for H but he will be driving out of it going in at least and by the time he comes home it'll be tapering off. Too much though. A delay would have been nice.

Congrats thatgolfb , and pootsen ! 7:20 is a really late time to close school cnf . Most of the kids would be at my school already by then. I have been MIA the last two days because I had two MORE snow days and both boys are sick. This one seemed to hit them both really hard and they have been absolutely miserable. Today they stayed home from daycare again but my H is watching them. He's trying to see if he can get them into the doctors. I'm sure they are going to tell us it just needs to run its course, but N had pneumonia when he was 2 and I'd rather not have to go there if possible. E pretty much is in the stage where he knows he can walk short distances so he tries it constantly. It's funny because you can almost see his brain working on whether he can make the distance or not. Also, I just want to add that taking care of one sick kid is a lot of work, but 2 sicks kids for 2 days was crazy.

Sorry for the mindfuck this am cnf. It's bad here too but not bad enough to close schools. Did you look at which town you might be considering moving to yet? Any districts you might apply to? You gotta let me know when you come here to look at houses and stuff and we can meet up! I'm so excited for summer!!!

I am an inpatient nurse case manager for labor & delivery, post-partum and NICU- mostly computer work but I still get to use my nursing brain lol! ETA- my background is adult ICU and then I was the clinical educator for a med-surg unit before taking this role- so huge change but so worth it!

Venting warning. If you want to skip, I won't be offended. I just need to get it out so I can get on with my day and then cry to H later. N had another weird night with another crying wakeup about 45-60 mins after he'd been sleeping like a log. After that he slept until 4:45, and did the same thing. Then since it was chilly I used 2 blankets for him this morning, and failed to notice he'd kicked off a shoe until we got to daycare. I checked the car first, so that was leaving the room twice, which made him cry. Then I ran back to the house for the shoe, came back, re-shod him, and left to his copious tears. He doesn't usually cry when I drop him off. Pretty sure he is teething because there's no other explanation for any of this but I can't feel anything (not that he lets me check much though).
He refused lunch again and he's been refusing lunch for a while now so I don't know why this has triggered all the emotions specifically today, but I feel like I'm a shit mom and he's falling behind on basic stuff. I mean, he's at 29 inches and we need to get him into a bigger car seat, but we haven't yet. (We keep saying "This weekend" and then shit happens and we never get to BBB.) He needs to be eating more solids and less bottles, but he keeps being given bottles because he won't eat solids. I battle with him at every meal but breakfast to get him to eat or drink anything on weekends. I still rock him to sleep even though he really should be putting himself to sleep now. We're getting somewhere with the milk but that's about it. And any time I try to do research I keep seeing how I should have started all of this stuff months ago and feel super guilty for not doing it.
I mean, he's not starving and at his 1yr appointment he was within or above average ranges for height/weight/etc. He has an appointment next week to make sure his ear infection cleared so I can talk to the doctor more then, but I just feel like I'm doing something/everything wrong. We still have 2-3 months before he goes to the next room at daycare so we have time to work on this stuff, but... I don't know. Like I said, just needed to let this out. Nice to see my resolution to be less negative in here is going swimmingly... *facepalm*

cakewench Give yourself some grace. You are by no means failing him in any way. Some kids just don't like solids at first, you're trying and it will click eventually. My kid only wants to drink soy milk out of bottles even though he is fully capable of using all kinds of cups- he will only drink water from them. My first was not like this at all and I've done nothing different. You won't be still rocking your kid to sleep in college, so don't worry about that either for now. Here's a nice link to serving sizes for kids- I always think he's not eating enough but in reality he probably is. www.healthychildren.org/English/ages-stages/toddler/nutrition/Pages/Serving-Sizes-for-Toddlers.aspx
