nmom I would just rinse off with water and then use the steam bag. I've had preemies and the NICU staff recommended those bags so i figure they can be trusted. Also the investment in a second set of pump parts is worth it too. That’s good to know! I will invest in more of them this go around I only used them a few times last time. When I’m at work I store parts in a cooler then washed at night but now I can use these bags more often at night!

Ok since the consensus is do whatever we want and the two of us can't decide on what we want, does anyone have thoughts on these names?
DD is Mab.el A.nna

DD is Mab.el A.nna Flo.ra Ju.ne Flo.ra R.ene Ah, I love both options. I feel like Ju.ne flows more smoothly but I'm all 😍 over Re.ne. For some reason I like R.ene better with A.nna too, but I couldn't tell you why (or that it matters, lol).

Yogurt I love your daughters name! It is one of my top favourites right now. I was looking up the meaning and discovered it unintentionally could honour my husband's grandfather and father (although doesn't go by the name), so I am unsure what to do. loorin I love June with the name! And it is lovely with your dd's name. It is one of our top ones too.

I know many of you have mentioned you travel a lot for work/etc, so I'm curious what you think about this.
When I'm 36 weeks (and 2 days) I have the opportunity to visit a friend 5 hours away. We (MH and E would come too) would drive and stay in a hotel one night and return home the next day. I'm not worried about it but I mentioned it to my mom and she's all freaked out that I shouldn't be traveling that far that late on. I plan to ask my OB about it at my appointment this week but wondered what you all thought about it?
I don't need to decide in advance and if something comes up or any complications arise I wouldn't go, but I traveled about 3 hours away for a weekend around the same time when I was pregnant with E with no problems so I feel like if things are going smoothly it wouldn't be an issue?

pambee I went to my cousins wedding a 2 night overnight when i was 37 weeks with my son. It was 4 hrs from my house. I asked my doctor and she advised against it sighting my short labor with my daughter. My labor wasnt short 26 hrs of contractions but it was short in the amount time when the contractions met the 5-1-1 rule they gave me to go to the hospital hence why i walked in ready to push. So I would do it, I did do research on how much shorter 2nd labors were and decided i would have about a 12 hr labor so plenty of time to get back since i knew how real labor contractions felt for me. I had no thoughts that labor was probable at 37 weeks. My labor ended up being 14 hrs at 40 + 1. But if i am remembering correctly you are having a RCS that may change things not sure.

pambee, (I say this as a FTM) I'd probably do it, but again, I travel incessantly for work. A 5 hour drive where you have access to your vehicle 100% of the time wouldn't faze me in the slightest, especially with no previous problems. A 5 hour plane ride would. My OB's reaction to my travel was mainly "I can't tell you no, but you should be aware of hospitals in the area you'll be in and be comfortable with the thought of not being here for delivery". I wouldn't be shocked if your doc advised against it, though, if the "second labors are faster than the 1st" tales are true.

pambee, so, I wouldn't. My reasoning is specific to my pregnancy and the fact that I have to get up at least every hour and usually more to relieve lower abdomen pressure. There's no way I'd be able to handle a 5-hour drive, even with stops. I didn't have these issues with my first and from what I can remember I would've been perfectly fine taking that trip then. I'd probably go with my gut and see how you're feeling when you get closer.

Thanks ladies, all good points. With E I never so much as felt a BH, and haven't this time around yet either, so if that continues I feel like I'd be comfortable going (MH would drive so I could stretch out as needed to stay comfortable and we can stop as often as we'd like) but obviously if anything changed I wouldn't want to risk it.
She lives in a bigish city with good hospitals and half way there we pass through a big city as well so I'm not so worried about being stranded without medical care, but obviously having to deliver away from home wouldn't be so ideal, lol.
I'll see what my OB says Thursday and not make any final decisions until it gets closer for sure though.

Pambee I would... but that being said I was on bed rest and near delivering my daughter at that point. So not sure what it’s like to be up and functioning that far along lol. As long as I felt okay I would go. I likely wouldn’t attempt to this pregnancy because I’m truly the worst functioning pregnant person.
Side question for you guys. I just noticed my glucose paperwork said to do it between 26-28 weeks 😳 I’m 28 weeks Sunday so I can go Friday to do it given everything it open since everything’s been shut down all week due to snow. Should be better by then though.. they wrote down 2/11-2/25 though🤦♀️ So now I feel like I’m going too late they must have screwed up writing the dates down?

nmom, I did my one hour at 27w on the dot and my 3 hour at 27w4d - they didn't say anything about it being semi-late.

Friday I’ll be 27+5😬 My drs office is currently closed due to weather and my appt got cancelled for tmrw as well so I’m not able to call and ask...I mean I guess nothing bad could really come from it🤔 Sorry second kid, I’m already slacking on things🤦♀️ I just had those dates in my head and pulled the paper out today and was like wait those weeks and those dates don’t line up. Fingers crossed weather is okay come Friday so I can get in there.

pambee I traveled to another state for my sister's wedding a month before my due date with DS2. My midwives just sent me with paperwork explaining my history and also a letter stating I was allowed to travel. I didn't have any issues but it was uncomfortable. If you are okay with it, I would go. but also 5 hours in a car sounds miserable now, let alone in a few weeks.

While we are on the name subject...
Ds1 is Em.erson Da.vid (both family names) Ds2 is Ca.llahan Jeff.rey (family mn)
Baby 3 is team green. If it's a girl she will be I.va Mari.anne (both family names)
If it's a boy we have no definite name. That.cher Me.lvin (family mn) Me.lvin Jos.eph (both family names)
I dont really want to give up Me.lvin because it is my grandpa's name who passed just after finding out about this pregnancy. BUT we could also do Iv.an Jos.eph and honor GGma in the masculine version.
Why are names so dang hard?!

After complaining yesterday about my boss not wanting me to work from home, I feel bad because he made me cry today. He saw me hobbling around the office after busting to get here when it's literally 0 degrees out. He felt terrible I could tell, and his sympathy made be cry. For some reason I've always been that way. Sympathy=tears from me.
So we had a chat and he said if I need to WFH we'd figure it out. I feel so relieved knowing that option is on the table. I honestly have a great home setup with 2 monitors and I can VPN in, so it works well. I just can't collaborate in person, which is hard sometimes in my field.

Zero issues with taking it a few days late, they just give that time frame because after 28 weeks is when it starts to affect baby if you do have it. A few days - even if you do have it - won’t make a difference because it takes a while to get it under control anyways when you start learning the diet and how your body responds to things. I still have days with crappy numbers totally beyond my control (while waiting for my endo to decide to adjust my insulin) and I’m a pretty bad case of it this time!

pambee I’d be pretty sore by the time we arrived if I did that trip now but that’s not to say I wouldn’t do it (if I was allowed, I most certainly wouldn’t be but I’m high risk). As long as you’re cool with the idea that in theory you’d have to deliver at one of those hospital you mentioned, and all the PITA stuff that could accompany that with childcare and commuting for YH and whatever, then I’d say it’s realistic.

I think I may have pulled something, or else this pregnancy is just taking it's toll. I am having pain in my right hip which circles around to my back and right under my belly. Almost like my hip is going to pop out of its socket. It's getting harder to walk normally and I can't get up without groaning... would you call your doc? I'm fine after laying down/resting. It's just after a day of sitting/walking/standing.
I just had an appt and was fine then... next OB appt not for 1.5 weeks. 😭

Eames ugh that sounds rough. Personally I feel like a call couldn't hurt, maybe they'd at least have recommendations on stretches or something you could do to help?

Eames I’m having a similar pain, I think it’s loose ligaments personally but yours sounds more intense than mine. I’m finding a hot water bottle with some pressure applied by stuffing pillows behind it helps. I hope you can get some relief! What your body is doing right now is truly a feat of endurance and strength. Hang tight and a call to the doc is never out of line. That’s what they’re there for.

Babies did well at my NST today. Then I had a growth scan (rescheduled from yesterday due to the cold) and they are estimating a week ahead, around 5 lb each! That's a lot of baby. No wonder I'm slowing down...

pambee and Tlex, thanks, pain was better today. I wore a support band all day and now I'm laying down, listening on a conference call. Heat at night definitely seems to help too. Hanging in there!

Baby A is butt down on right, and Baby B is transverse. If I look down at my belly, it is not symmetrical at all (so weird). So I think that's contributing to right hip pain!

Makes sense to me, my uterus leans righy so my babies always hang out there (aka press HARD there) and my right hip/low back suffer way more. My PT says there’s a remarkable difference in how I carry on that side etc. I’m glad the support band and heat are helping but most of all that you could work from a decent position today. Complain away to me anytime you need to vent, being in constant pain is really hard and it does help IMO to vent about it.
