I’m struggling with names too! I can’t imagine having to pick out 2. I still really like Reb.ecca, but can’t seem to come up with a middle name that I love that H does too. I love love Char.lotte, but H says it’s too long and old.
He said the other day that he really likes the name Ame.lia, which I like, but I can’t come up with any middle names to go with it.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of your name choices! As for middle names, we always go with a family name which helps narrow things down. FWIW, I think Amelia Charlotte or Charlotte Amelia are lovely name combinations.

We got a bunch of snow this morning. I had a doctor appt at 9 today by my house and was originally planning on driving to the office afterwards, but the roads are SO BAD. I sent my boss and team an email that I was going to WFH after instead , and he sent back the slightest snarky response. Such an old fashioned attitude... like I could either spend 1h20m driving in, or 20 minutes to home and you get another hour of productive work out of me! Our company is supposed to be flexible, but there still so many older guys running things that it hasn't really changed.
This week we're also getting record low temps, and I have 3 dr appts. He's going to need to just deal that things aren't normal right now, I'm nearing the end of a twin pregnancy and doing my best to come in when I can.

Eames I haven’t worn wired bras since I started wearing nursing bras and don’t know if I will ever be able to go back. They are so uncomfortable! I feel like they actually fit different too because I think my ribs expanded with Pregnancy, if that’s possible. grover boys names are hard for us too and even when I like one my H shoots it down

What are all of your thoughts on family middle names for kids? If you use a family name for 1 kid, do you "have" to use one for an subsequent children? Obviously I know there aren't rules about naming kids, but wondering what the general population's thoughts are...
My daughter has a family middle name, this baby, if it had been a boy would've had a family middle name, but it's a girl and we're waffling between 2 middle names, 1 family and 1 not.
I'm leaning towards the family one, but my H prefers the non-family one.

I have a family middle name and don’t really like it, so I am not going to give my kids one just to do it. If you like the name though and like the consistency, I get that. I like rules normally lol

loorin I follow no rules, and my situation is opposite but E's first and middle names are completely random, we just liked them. But we're technically using a family name for Henry's middle this go around (it's mine, which was after my grandpa's, and happens to be a shortened version of FIL's too). This time I just decided I wanted to use my middle name because it can be used for boy or girl so we went with it. I considered it with E but didn't like how it sounded together. So I say, do whatever you want! Lol

loorin, do whatchu want, girlfriend! Middle names are so rarely used, I don't think it's a huge deal. Unless the initials spell a word that might be naughty, like my girlfriend who changed her name not realizing her initials now spell ASS. lol. Anecdotally, my kid will have a family name as a middle, but I deferred to H (it's his middle and his dad's middle) because I didn't really care so long as it sounded good with his first name. If we have another boy after this one, he will (most likely) not have a family middle name. If we have a girl, she will have a family name because it's my great-grandmother's name and H doesn't want to use it as a first.

My DS1 has family first and middle name. DS2 has a family middle name and a first name we just liked. If this baby is a girl she will have family first and middle name, but if it's a boy it will likely only have a family middle name.

My first doesn’t have any family names, second has two, this kid might have one. I’m a wildcard with middle names. I also did two middle names for both girls but this kid will probably just have one.

We don’t do family names. But I wouldn’t hesitate to go non family bam did my first did have a family name.
We are set with our name and now I’m starting to second guess it😳
Anyone find a basic list of baby needs for a STM who has forgotten everything apparently. I feel like the nursery is all ready... I had a girl the first time so I have newborn and 3mo clothes bought for this baby not too many but I try not to overdue it on clothes so very basic there a few packs of onesies and sleepers.
But I have a list like bottle nipples pump parts breast milk storage and now I’m like this sounds too easy I must be missing stuff lol

nmom I feel like I don't need much either (and therefore will be sending MH out on many midnight shopping trips when I realize what all I do need, lol) but making sure I have enough things like waterproof mattress covers (most we used with E were ripped somehow), a hamper for his room, refills for the nose Frieda, diaper rash cream, new pacifiers, diaper pail refill bags, bm storage bags, humidifier for his room, monthly stickers (for pictures, because I'm going to try to remember to be that mom again, lol)... That's what I have on the top of my head!

I think there will be many midnight Walmart runs for MH as well. It’s hard to remember that we got rid of everything between babies 2 and 3!

Has anyone ever used the electric bottle sterilizers. This would work for pump parts too right?
Washing pump parts every night drove me crazy with DD and I only worked 3 days a week. I’m panicking a little about working FT this go round and wondered if this would make life way easier?
Otherwise I’ll put MH on duty for washing parts again😂

I just toss them in a big ziplock bag to keep them contained. Also the Medela microwave steam bags are awesome.

Do you use the stems bags daily like in place of washing in the sink? I used those with my daughter but not too often cuz I wasn’t sure if I should trust them lol

nmom I would just rinse off with water and then use the steam bag. I've had preemies and the NICU staff recommended those bags so i figure they can be trusted. Also the investment in a second set of pump parts is worth it too.

So my OB said they are going to write me off work at 36 weeks. I had planned on working until I deliver, but I mean I don't love work so hey, I'll take it. I had my kid at 35 weeks so who knows when it'll happen this time.
I feel like my work won't be happy, but honestly screw it because work doesn't care about me, work cares about work.

loorin, team you do you on the names. If you don't love it, don't use it! We haven't used any family names for either of our kids, but I don't think it's a problem if one has a family name and one doesn't.

loorin we did not use a family name for my daughter Ramona Louise. I wanted Frances and found out later it was my grandma's middle name and Francis is my step dad's middle name. We chose Leroy Abraham for this baby and then my and my MIL told us that Leroy is my h's steps dads middle name. So he will technically have a family name though it was unintentional.
