I called! It was not exciting. The nurse said they don’t schedule until a month out. The scheduling book isn’t open until feb for March. I 100% cried after the call. Haha Dang! I know my OB doesn't normally schedule them until later but did mine early so we could get it before she went on vacation. That's odd they don't even open the schedule yet though! I know! I honestly can’t remember when we scheduled my other ones. If I had been told at my appt that it would be a few weeks before scheduling it would have been fine. I had my hopes up. But now I’m Back to just dealing with it.

I didn't use anything like it, but I was never the anxious mom. Like I never even hovered over the crib to watch her breathe, lol. I have had a few friends who have used at least similar things (can't remember if it was the owlet specifically) and liked it. But some did say that it gave false alarms sometimes, which would ramp their anxiety up more. I think it's a personal preference thing for sure, and for me it just wasn't something I needed. I'm generally anxious on a good day, so I imagine I'm going to be a hoverer. As much as I pretend to be all #breezy, I very much am not. lol. I’m v v very anxious typically but this is shockingly one thing I was not anxious about as a new mom. Now at 3.5 and I wake up and she’s still in her bed MH both jump up to make sure she’s breathing lol but not as a baby. I heard of false alarms with those too which my heart couldn’t take I don’t think I would have a heart attack if it went off

I would love a home birth! I think it’s awesome and love to hear stories of others that have them.

What car seat/stroller does everyone have? We got rid of all our baby stuff two years ago when we had decided we were done. Ha. I think i've stared at a million websites. i don't want to spend a ton because we are done after this. But I want a travel system b/c we plan on having our boys in sports again this spring and that'll be the easiest way for me to get the baby around.
I like the look of the evenflo pivot travel system but the reviews are either super good or super bad. Ugh.

haleyscott the only weird rule with evenflo car seats is that there has to be 1.5 inches between the car seat and the front seat, making it hard to fit in some cars, especially if you have front seat passengers. I dont know anything about the stroller though. Personally I have a nuna pipa and a britax b ready stroller.

I ended up getting a Graco system that was on clearance from target! It came out to 162 and there's no way I can beat that price.

Thank you for the info and suggestions Tlex! Knock on wood...my pain has been much better lately, so I’m hoping that trend continues. We’re planning on going snowshoeing this weekend though, so we’ll see. Girl I had to take my like back. Snowshoeing? No. You are asking for a world of pain!!

I’m just here cringing. The damage done to your cartilage with SPD can be irreparable and the pain will last forever if you do that. I ended up unable to change my own underwear or get up and down from the toilet myself and had to use a wheelchair anytime I left the house with my first. I don’t wish that for anyone.

My H straightened up the house before the cleaning ladies come while I laid here in bed, exhausted. I've never loved him more. 😂

I have a large amazon order in my cart and I’m just sitting on it, can’t bring myself to put it through for some reason. It’s almost all the last odds and ends we need to be ready for baby: pacifiers, pampers, some soft bras, tea for drying up my milk, depends underwear 😂😬👍🏻.
I think I’m hesitating because it feels like I’m forgetting things! Or maybe it’s just too real.

haleyscott, we have a Graco travel system for infant seat/stroller and had no problems with it! We will be using it again for DS. Good choice!

Second time and more moms: If your hospital allowed you to labor and give birth in your own clothes... what did you wear? I'm looking at getting this: www.motherhood.com/3-in-1-labor,-delivery-and-nursing-gown/007-93233-000-001.html?&mrkgcl=917&mrkgadid=3189053058&adpos=1t1&creative=327014538621&device=c&matchtype=b&network=g&gclid=Cj0KCQiA4aXiBRCRARIsAMBZGz9N06UIODy1P2SjUdUgn3A-1XGh--pDmtR7QzV_IgspdnadLZeXq_4aApm4EALw_wcB But I could also be convinced to simply wear a tank top/ bikini (my birth center has tubs to labor in).

I didn't know this existed and was planning on using cabbage leaves again 😂

Figure it can’t hurt might help. I mostly rely on pseudophedrine lol.

lemondrop I laboured in a tub for a good chunk of D1’s labour and I think I wore a sports bra? Definitely no bottoms... modesty was so far gone. DH had a bathing suit though for wearing back and forth between the shower and supporting me in the tub. But then I kicked him out of the tub lol. I did not bring my own gown for labour because I was told whatever I brought would be single use only and not salvageable after all the birth stuff gets on it. I have no idea what was or wasn’t on my hospital gowns, the support people like nurses and doulas are so good at keeping you dry and comfortable without you even realizing they’re tending to you. I was adamant about having lots of black, loose, stretchy pajama/lounge wear for after and I’m glad for it. I hate wearing hospital gowns all day long.

wittyusername I’m also going to try sunflower lecithin this time, apparently it can really help prevent clogs. Are you hoping to dry up right off the bat too? I’ve never done it from day one before and I’m nervous about how it will go.

Tlex, I'm ok with anything I get being one-use as long as I don't have to use the hospital gowns, lol - I find them to be insanely itchy for some reason.

This reminds me that I need to buy some more lounge wear for the hospital. I just bought loose sweats and nursing tanks last time and plan to do the same again (for after the birth, of course) but most of my lounge wear I currently own are.....old and holey and not really appropriate for having visitors, haha.

Tlex I'd love it if my milk never even came in! I didn't have any issues with clogs last time, the cabbage trick just felt like it took forever so I'm hoping to use a combination of things that speeds up the process

I didn't have any issues with clogs last time, the cabbage trick just felt like it took forever so I'm hoping to use a combination of things that speeds up the process Oh I’m happy to have a buddy in this process! My plan is so extra but I have problems with severe over supply/mastitis (and that’s part of why I don’t want to BF) so I’m wanting to be as aggressive as I can about it. - wire free super supportive bras - cabbage leaves for sure - sunflower lecithin pills - sudafed (the kind from behind the counter) - only expressing when I absolutely have to for relief - no latching him or skin to skin on exposed breast, will have him up on my neck instead I guess haha - the no more milk tea - if my doc agrees, I want to go on antibiotics before signs of mastitis appear, this was the method with my D2 that finally worked. It’s kind of like we know I’m going to have mastitis, so might as well plan for it and head it off.

I haven't worn a wire bra since 2014. I find them so uncomfortable now.
I also switched from hipsters to grannie panties after my last csection, so you could say my undergarment selection has gotten considerably less sexy.

After I finished nursing E I tried a few of my old bras and new with underwire and couldn't handle it.

Tlex, I hope your next 48 hours involve less trips to the doc for your DD than you previous 24 hours have gone! AFM, trying to get maternity leave instructions set, since my doctors have stated that I only have 3 weeks more of being allowed to work. We also narrowed down names to Liam (William) and Joey (Joseph), though my H hopes he'll be suddenly inspired with a name that isn't "eh". Boys names are hard for us, and having to choose TWO full boys names is rough!
