New month, new randoms thread.
I'm so glad the holidays are over and we can get back to normal. My daughter is all out of sorts from the days off and lack of regular routine, she was a complete nightmare of a toddler yesterday. Getting her back on a schedule is essential!

I’m not excited to be back to work, but ready to get back to some normalcy. I spent the last 2 days cleaning and un-decorating and organizing our house. I feel like I need another week to get back to normal.

Holidays over and a short work week!
My ILs are leaving Saturday, and I can't wait to put Christmas decorations away! I kind of wished I had signed DD up for the extra childcare and taken the week off myself so that I could nest alone. Hopefully things won't be so hectic with the holidays over.
Now if work would just let me mentally check out, that would be great....

I'm so happy to be back to our normal routine. My almost 6 year old is the worst at entertaining himself and my 3.5 year old is the best. Together for 12 vacation days and I was ready for the quiet days. Yesterday with just DS2 we did some painting, built legos and I was able to get dinner ready and some sewing done. It was so nice. Today I have a couple of hours that they are both at school and I am currently sitting in the coffee shop. ☕

Today I had my 28 week appt and my GD screening. It was mid-day and they said that I didn't need to fast, but just not to eat something sweet right before like a donut. I had some cashews and a cheese stick, then after the appt went to Culvers to go HAM on a chicken sandwich and onion rings.
I am nervous about the results because I have gained quickly in the last 4 weeks - 10 pounds since my last appt. Yikes. They didn't mention anything though, because twins I guess. But I think I need to cool it with all the sweets that have been around for Christmas at home, work, etc. It's hard because besides walking a bit, I really cannot work out... it's just so uncomfortable.

MH just booked a work trip to be gone the same time my mom is out of town on a vacation 😑 I’m so annoyed. I’m only 32 weeks when this happens but that’s when I got sick with pre-e for DD so I’m freaking out a little and hoping for no repeat. I hate his work schedule sometimes.

MH has a work trip when I’m 35 weeks and I had D1 at 36 weeks so it has me quite stressed out. I will keep everything crossed for you that it’s a very uneventful trip duration, how long is he gone for?

He just texted me and his boss offered to fly him in and out as close to the conference as possible so hopefully three maybe four days.

Ugh I get the anxiety about SOs being out of town late in the game. And...it's valid!!
My h was flying home from a business trip while I was in labor and literally raced back from the airport (got pulled over), picked me up and drove straight to the hospital and I had only minutes to spare. I don't want him to go anywhere after 32 weeks or so.

Forgot to mention my fundal height today was measuring like 39 weeks... so crazy. nmom and Tlex, do you guys have backups just in case you need help early with your SOs out of town? I'm sorry for the added stress.

Aww man. I feel bad because I'm the one who always travels and I'm pretty sure I'll be traveling to the other side of the country up until the very last day that my OB's office will give me permission to travel that far (36 weeks). Poor H.
On the positive, I saw one of the midwives on Wednesday and apparently I have a great cervix (over 5.5cm long) so she's not worried about the travel. Of course anything can happen, but it gives me some semblance of reassurance that my body is doing what it needs to do (this is ironic considering how long it took me to get pregnant).

I'm sorry for the added stress. I texted a coworker to make sure she’d be in town. Lol not ideal we aren’t super close but enough that if I absolutely needed to I could leave my DD with her or she could come give me a hand at home or something.

So, passed my GD test.
But I'm severely anemic, to the point where I need to meet with a hematologist on Tuesday to discuss iron infusion through IV. I also have a sinus infection and the dr prescribed me a nebulizer, which the pharmacy still hasn't called to say was ready (my appointment was at 8:40 am...)
Not how I wanted to spend my last day of winter break!!

Yay grover for passing the GD test, but I'm sorry about the iron. My H needs to get those via IV occasionally. The biggest thing he says is helpful is to bring a tablet or book to read through because you sit awhile. I think it really is effective at boosting levels, but I'm sorry they need to do it via IV for you.

Yay for passing your GD test grover. Sorry for the anemia. It’s pretty common in pregnancy. The IV iron infusions should help you a ton (both with your hemoglobin and you feeling better)!

Lol I almost gasped - 5.5 Cm! That’s fabulous. My longest measurement ever was “almost 4 Cm” haha I have a crap cervix/have had part of it removed in a surgery. Is flying that far rough as you get later in pregnancy? I was getting up to stretch and walk at only 18 weeks when I flew cross country lol. I’m not a very seasoned traveller though.

Lol you and me both! I had a LEEP 5 years ago to remove pre-cancer so I assumed mine was going to be short. Evidently not lol. I’m a FTM, so I don’t know how rough it’s going to get - but I have TSA precheck and status on Delta and AA (although I will never ever ever fly AA) so that makes it generally easier. I also will only fly if I have aisle seating so I can pee 37x and try to stand at least every half hour. So far it’s been smooth but I anticipate Delta being an a-hole when I get bigger (they already give me the stare down like I’m about to go into labor any minute). I also can usually pick which airports I fly through and when, so I avoid the clusterfucky ones and super short layovers. Plus I travel with a single small carry on so luggage isn’t a problem.

I am cranky today and I hate everyone. My emotions have been mostly in check the last two weeks but as of yesterday I'm officially off the rails again, lol.
It doesn't help that a FB memory popped up yesterday that reminded me we told my parents about our first pregnancy last year and it just brought in a LOT of emotions I wasn't expecting or prepared for, and made me think about all the reminders and loss dates I'm going to experience again over the next few months which put me in a weird mood. I don't know, I really thought I was in a good place and past a lot of this but apparently I'm not and I'm not sure how to deal with it all.
I need to go to sleep and just wake up tomorrow, lol!

DD (21 months) is currently obsessed with the new sibling video my hospital has on youtube. It's both amusing to see her so excited about the "baby video" and also annoying to have the 6 minute video on repeat for an hour. LOL

pambee, I don't know if you ever get over it. ❤ I think it stays in your heart but you just don't think about it as much, but when you do it's still raw and sad.

Did my GD test on Saturday and found out I failed it by 6 points. WEEEEEEEE. I'm so upset by it. Hopefully will be getting the order so I can do it while I work tomorrow instead of having to come in on my day off. (I work in a doctors office with a lab in the building)
