speaking of that I really need to figure out how to sell the jewelry my ex gave me, too. Would you melt it all down and make something you love? |

I never registered for China. I got nice white dishes from Macy’s for my wedding they are still going strong 8 years later. I did have to replace a bowl and plate, but the good thing is that Macy’s still carries my dishes so I was able to just replace them. The girls mostly eat on plastic plates but if they’re all dirty I’ll put their food one one or the regular plates. I need to work on getting rid of all the sippy cups though.

FFFC: I think I am going to call out of work on Monday. We go into non pay status the following Monday and during a shutdown we can't take leave. I could use a mental health day.

I pawned my wedding ring and know I didn't get close to the value we paid. I really needed the money at the time and didn't care about keeping the ring, so it didn't matter. But looking back on it, I think I could have had the stones removed and done something with them. Although at the time, the money was needed to keep me afloat, so it was the best choice. |

Our network is running slow. I mean, it's always slow but today it's crazy.
It's also because of me. I'm downloading an episode of Marvelous Mrs Maisel so I can watch it at lunch while also streaming the Jayme Closs news conference.

Aka, watching tv and cramping my style. Lol. But he says since they can’t guarantee him a paycheck he can’t guarantee them productivity. Lol. But he did do real work yesterday serving an arrest warrant for some scumbags. So I got a few hours of the morning to myself. |

I don’t have China and our plates etc. are various brands and styles all from my mil. She is the only one who feels the need to replace our old stuff.
My kids both use regular plates and bowls when they eat but i still have them drinking from straw sippy cups because I’m not interested in cleaning up spills. So far they haven’t broken any dishes *knocks on wood*

I bought plain white corelle for the new house. The boys will use it for most meals. I'll keep a few plastic pieces for snacks they may be carrying around and fir when we eat outside.

We didn’t register for china because I knew we would never use it and didn’t have the room for it.
We registered for two sets of Corelle dishes and haven’t broken one yet. A former roommate broke a coffee cup. Neither of us drink coffee so ndb.

jewels they all need a good cleaning... Bracelet, earrings & ring have an amethyst stone. This ring is my favorite. This ring is Swarovski.

No China here. Sometimes I wish I had it for nicer meals on holidays, but I'm fine without. We having matching dishes that are very nice but I think I'd like to upgrade to a different style soon.

It baffles me when I hear people say they have no style and are fine with hodge podge whatever (I think i read that here?). I mean, a house doesn't have to be a designer house, but having our house our taste, cohesive and comfortable is my jam.

I mean, a house doesn't have to be a designer house, but having our house our taste, cohesive and comfortable is my jam. 'Cohesive' is a great word. I mean, the bed we're replacing was fine...in good shape, still served its purpose...but just isn't our style anymore (ha, it was *never* mine  ). I don't have a problem letting it go to someone who will appreciate it so that I can get something that is more in keeping with my taste and the rest of our furnishings. I like having an overall vision for my home that guides me in my purchases. FTR, I think good style is available at all price points. |

tgrimes I love the ring you said was your favorite. In fact it looks a lot like the engagement ring I wanted. But I don’t wear rings except my wedding/engagement ring. I’ve been eyeing some necklaces. I think I will pass. But there is definitely resale value in those pieces!
