We took Christmas presents for DD’s preschool teachers in today, DD was so excited. It’s one of the teacher’s first year teaching (she is a grandma who used to run a dayhome etc so she’s not new new) and we really like her. So being her first year I knew she wouldn’t have a lot of “teachery” stuff yet and I got a stamped metal keychain made that says “it takes a big heart to teach little minds” to go with the cookies and starbucks card. She cried when I gave it to her and when she opened DD’s homemade card, nailed it.

Oh man, the feels doodlemommyMy kid is currently side eyeing the lunch I made for her, so that's nice. To be fair I'm kind of side eyeing it too haha. I'm trying to get things situated for my wedding planning business and it's going well. There are a few things on my MUST DO/HAVE and many more on my LIKE TO DO/HAVE - like, I need new clothes and desperately need a haircut. Money has been so tight the last few months that it's hard for me to set aside money for those things. All in all, it's coming along. I'd like to be officially "open" by valentines day. |

doodlemommy you are sweet! cythe re babysitters, it is odd. One thing we used to do is find someone who is willing to spend 1-2 hours with the kids with you there to get to know them before you leave them. And once you find a ‘regular’, it’s easier. I also usually put the little one to bed before we go out because she is the princess and the pea and if things aren’t done quite right she gets upset. And we don’t ask the babysitter to put big kid to bed, we let him stay up late and watch tv or fall asleep on the couch. Whatever works to get you a date night. Everyone needs date night!

I have to buy a bottle of booze for DH (wife of the year) for his present but other than that Xmas shopping is done.
I am working all week which is gross and annoying and as the week goes on and more people are out it will be really boring too.
Not much new with the kiddos. Baby was up last night because someone turned the heat down and she got cold, poor thing. She went to her first gymnastics class today, she loved it. Pretty sure we have the next big Olympics star on our hands. 😂
Big kid keeps getting in trouble for being physical with the other kids at school. I know it’s an impulse control issue and he will grow out of it but holy hell its frustrating to deal with. I’m worried if he can’t get it under control soon they will hold him back in pre-K another year.
He is of course super excited about Christmas. We still have to get a playhouse assembled in the back yard before then. 😬

I still need gifts for my dad and nephew. Luckily gift cards and cash are always appreciated.
Today is our first day in our new office building and omg it is so so so cold. I have on layers and I still can’t feel my fingers.

Molar #2 has come halfway through and holy cow. DD2 has had her fist in her mouth since daycare pickup. She ate dinner but between every bite let out cries and whines. I gave her some Motrin and had her down by 6:30.
Also AF came today. 42 days after my last one. This period-breastfeeding cycle stuff is for the birds. I hate the surprise of it all and feel 12 years old all over again.

DS is teething hardcore but still nothing has come through. The third tooth on the bottom has been playing peekaboo but I think this has got to be more. He refused to eat supper again tonight and is in bed early. Fingers crossed he sleeps ok

I think my baby is teething too. He has been such a grump and very bite-y while nursing. Owie. He did sleep in the crib from 7:45pm - 5am without getting up to eat, so his teeth must not be bothering him too much.
We leave for our ski trip in 2 days and I’m flying around trying to get everything set before we go.
And...remember those horrible houseguests we had? They are coming back today and staying with us for 1 night (they needed a place to stay before my friend’s parents get into town tomorrow. Pleeeaaaaaase let their kid not be sick and remember the rules from last time.🤞😩

Hiiiii. hope everyone is well! i've been busy and everything is just busy and moving too fast. Can't believe it's almost christmas! I have a bunch of stuff to wrap and i hope i got everyone on my list! we shall find out i guess.
i made gingerbread cookies last night. i used harry potter cutters and they are so cute. for me it was a 2 day process since i can't figure out how to make time for myself.
M has 8 teeth now and still drooling like crazy so maybe more teeth are coming? not sure but i love baby teeth smiles.
i was planning to take some time off next week but turns out i will be the only one holding down the fort at the office so i will be working. sigh.

cythe, good luck with your business! that sounds like a lot of work but also a lot of fun!! I'm no help on the babysitting front although i used to babysit neighbor kids all the time when i was younger - maybe 12 or 13. crazy really. Taitai, fingers crossed their stay is nice and quiet

Stomach flu has hit the house. Everyone else has it but me. So much laundry. So much puke. It all started last night when I reassured DD1 “you’ll be fine” before tucking her in. She made it a whole 10 minutes. I got up with DD2 at 3:00 and it took 45 minutes to clean it all and settle her again. When I came back into our bedroom H was in the bathroom....
I’m hoping that if I haven’t had it by now I’m good. 😬

Oh no danvers. I hope you avoid it and everyone else is feeling better soon. LO has 8 teeth and incredibly swollen molars. He's sleeping terrible and is a fuss bucket, so I really hope they break through soon. DH was discharged today. We meet with the surgeon tomorrow, he will definitely be having surgery as the herniated disc is really bad. He can only lay down or stand up right now (despite really strong meds), so we're really hoping the surgery is soon. But they did say it isn't likely to be this week. |

DS2 must be going through a growth spurt. His daycare teachers said he ate every bit of food we packed and drank 15oz of milk and then asked for more.
DS1 had a Christmas concert tonight at school. Omg that thing lasted so long. We didn’t leave til 8pm. I think that’s crazy on a school night. Poor H didn’t even make it because of a bad accident. He was stuck not moving for 2 hours.

Someone in my local BST group is trying to sell an old, unsafe crib. Someone else told her it's illegal. There are Facebook reports, name calling and hurt feelings. Its lit 😂

I am mentally checked out of work already 😬 Thankfully I only have 2 therapy visits today and then the rest of the day is paperwork/planning. Tomorrow we are going for Christmas breakfast/staff party thing, then we sort of finish everything off for the break and make sure we are ready for the first week back. Friday is always a big question mark...50% of the time my boss says not to worry about coming in (we are salary so still paid), 50% of the time we go in at usual time but leave by lunch time...and really spend that morning talking, drinking coffee and eating cookies... I have my fingers crossed for not going in at all 🤞

I'm pretty much done shopping except for my parents. So, that's good at least. Most stuff is wrapped too ::phew::
I have a work-happy-hour tomorrow with my team which is fun. I work remotely so it'll be nice to see everyone AND my boss is paying to, score.
Plus it'll be nice to get out of the house sans kids, doesn't happen too often.

It’s been 24+ hours since someone’s puked so I think we’re in the clear. I am keeping all things crossed 🤞 that I escaped it. On the bright side, the house is now sanitized thoroughly and all bedding freshly laundered.
Another molar popped for DD2 so that’s molar #3. I kind of hope the 4th comes soon so we’re over and done with nonsense soon. She is super snuggly though and I love it.

I asked my boss if we got off early Friday (like usual before a holiday) and she said no it’s not marked as a half day. Wtf company. But I made a hair appointment anyway for the afternoon. It’s been a month and a half and my silver strands are way noticeable.

FX you don’t have to come in at all Friday. Do you get much time off at Xmas? I work in the school system so I get 2 weeks, plus I only work part time so my first day back is Jan 9. I now know I for sure have to go in Friday morning but hopefully only for a while 🤞 |
