CoachTsWife I am so happy you guys made it to church and that the service was nice. I will be thinking about you and your H tomorrow (well, tonight my time). I hope the surgery goes well and his recovery is smooth. Hang in there - we are all rooting for you! And your boys are the cutest ever!! 💕❤️. Those matching PJs!!! doodlemommy my kids were a disaster last night too. We kept them up too long and it was a Christmas evening of crying before bed 😬. Confirmed molar causing our issues. The swollen gums have a white little tooth trying to bust it’s way through. He still only has 6 in the front so he will have a funny little smile if the molars come through first 🤣

We thought he got into something yesterday because his lips were colored, we finally decided it had to be blood from his gums. Looked like he was wearing lipstick. 😂😐😯☹😢 He isn't eating well and is pooping so much he has a diaper rash. It is all giving mommy a run for her money. |

Happy belated Christmas (is that a thing?). We opened Christmas gifts and E only cried terrifyingly once. She - apparently - is scared of her walking unicorn toy her great grandma gave her. It was really hard to watch her be that scared. Anyway, we will probably regift it to her next year  Sorry for all the molar issues, I think we are also working on some. Kiddo went to bed with her teething hand last night and that went well. I dont think shes super serious about teething but just kind of. |

Merry late christmas to all of you! i am so tired. i think we really could have used an extra day off. M hit her forehead pretty hard on the corner of a chair yesterday and there was a lot of blood  i felt/still feel awful about it. i just hope there is no scarring. she cried for a solid minute and then was back to her happy goofy self so that was reassuring. She had a long and exhausting weekend for sure. Hopefully we can get our schedules back to normal. i loved everyones pictures that i saw posted! i hope everyone had a nice holiday |

My kids is a miserable teething mess too! Her cheeks are red and she’s not sleeping through the night a few nights a week. Napping is non existent. It’s been a bit of a challenge.
Kids got spoiled yesterday and had a lot of fun. So much stuff. I’m working today and DH is dealing with the post Christmas hangover himself. I think we may travel next year to avoid the craziness.

Well in a very not christmassy turn of events, our vacation budget has been turned into a last minute flight back home to say goodbye to my grandmother.
Give me all your tips and tricks to surviving 4 hour flights (2 flights, 2 hr each/one way) with a baby who hates everything and may or may not sleep.

cythe I’m so sorry about your grandma. Food is my tip. Like all the overly expensive weird Gerber snacks... DD2 will usually make it through an hour + church service for lots of puffs, yogurt drops, and freeze dried strawberries. Stickers or tape? - you’d have to watch she won’t eat them but DD2 is fascinated by sticking stickers to paper as long as I peel them. I assume tape could accomplish the same thing. Do you have a device you could download some videos on? I’d make sure you have an empty sippy cup in your carryon bag.

I’m so sorry cythe. My tips for travelling are: bring lots of snacks, books, and both new and favourite toys. I am usually super strict about screen time, airplanes however are the one time all bets are off. I still use it as a “last resort” after all other entertainment options have been exhausted but definitely allow more than usual. DD liked things like stickers and a colouring/sticker app on the iPad at this age. We haven’t flown with DS in a few months now but he was pretty happy with snacks and nursing and people watching when we flew early October. |

cythe sorry about your grandma Like everyone else said, iPad videos (download so you don’t need WiFi), a couple of new small toys to keep her interest and lots of snacks and juice. And 2 changes of clothes! Travel as early in the day as you can, not sure about others but it’s a shit show if S is not at home and in bed by 7pm. DS was the same way when he was little. Every kid is different it might not bother her. Try to stick to your routine as much as possible like put her in pajamas, tell her it’s sleepy time and whatnot. She might be ok! cythe I’m so sorry about your grandfather. Everyone has had really good suggestions. My perspective is skewed, but two 2 hr flights is easy peasy. You have the layover to break up things and get some of her energy out. Just know that time doesn’t ever stand still - and it will eventually be over. You can do it!! Is your H coming with or are you going solo? CoachTsWife How did the surgery go for your H? Is he recovering ok?

Surgery went fine and as planned. The dr showed us a pic of the disc material he removed and it was impressive. In a bad way. He said the nerve that had been impacted was incredibly swollen and could take time to heal/recovery. And it is.
Recovery is not going well. The nerve pain in his hip and leg was worse after surgery, to the level it was when he ended up in the ER. The nurses kept telling him to get up, push through the pain, but he just couldn't. I also felt frustrated he couldn't do it, but I could see the pain in his face and eyes. It was a really horrible day. He was at an outpatient surgery center and they were going to transfer him to hospital, but ended up calling in 2 nurses to work the night. If he can't come home by 8am today (Thursday), they will transfer him to hospital.
What a nightmare.

CoachTsWife 😭 the surgery... I'm so sorry hes still in such pain. I'm sure you're ready to have your partner back. Thank you all for the kind words, my mom text me at 3:45 this morning to let me know she passed. She was just shy of 91 so this is hardly unexpected. She was a wonderful woman. *we secured some flights yesterday and will be flying home on Monday. The timing actually works out for us, we knew yesterday that neither myself or my mother would make it back in time.

I picked up my grocery order this morning before DH had to leave for work so I could do it without the kids. It is so cold I didn’t want to bundle them up just for pick up. I threw a winter jacket, uggs and toque on over my pjs and no bra 🤷🏻♀️ But now I don’t need to leave my house again today. Putting DS down for nap then going to work out while DD plays on her LEGO table in the basement

I’m sorry for your loss cythe. I’m glad you’ll be able to go home and spend some time with family. Will there be a funeral while you are there? Yes, and that's caused us to have an eventful morning. So, backstory: a few months ago, my aunt was involved in a 1 person hunting accident she dropped her shotgun and shot her hand off and has required multiple surgeries to correct that. Anyway, turns out she is scheduled to ha e surgery on Tuesday the 1st, which is when everyone would LIKE to hold the funeral, but because of the surgery up at Mayo we are hoping to be able to have the funeral on Monday. So all that to say that our plans of flying in on Monday are gone. Thankfully my mom called is with 2 hours to go before our free flight cancellation expired and we were able to cancel and book new flights for Sunday. |

Thanks, guys. He was able to come home this morning, thank goodness. He's in a great deal of pain, but able to move more than yesterday. Baby steps. I'm sorry for your loss cythe. |

CoachTsWife Glad to hear your H is back home, but I am so sorry about all the pain he has been going through. I really hope this difficult time passes quickly for you.

Currently on the elliptical while DH supervises breakfast and parents upstairs. Only thing on the agenda today is Costco. We need dog food so I have no choice but to go today, hopefully it’s not crazy!

CoachTsWife I’ve been thinking of you! Glad to hear surgery was a success and from here on out praying for a good recovery. Any surgery is invasive All the pain drugs to your H and hope in days to come pain will be less and less. Big hugs! BTW your boys are heartbreakers 😍

I’ve been trying to get on here but FIL keeps turning off the modem every night 🤨 Hubs is like he’s trying to save like 2 watts 😂 love all the pics, girls are all so pretty and boys so handsome! danvers your tree looks beautiful! Well the gas fireplace also broke down yesterday so we’re huddled around here. Baby is napping but about to wake up soon and I managed to pack up 99% of everything for our return trip. ILs are ready to have us leave 😬 it’s too much commotion with 2 little people in their house plus the only heat source is out and we have electric heaters all around the house now and trying to keep baby away from them back is giving us a run for our money 🤦🏻♀️ |
