I literally bought my first Christmas presents yesterday. I need to get the ornament for my niece (I get her one every year for Xmas) so I can get it shipped to FL.
Last year I made these super yummy chocolate covered pretzel sandwiches with peanut butter inside. I need to get ingredients so I can make them. They sound so good right now.

I think I’m finished Christmas shopping, but I get wrapped up in the “hustle and bustle” of the season in the last two weeks and want to keep shopping. I really appreciate being organized and having gifts bought and wrapped, but it feels kind of like a letdown now. This is me, too! Now I’m out shopping for myself 🤣 |

Re: friends, I don't have many that we hang out with, but I think it's getting better now that we just decided to invite friends where we plan to go.
Adventure Playground Saturday? Yep, let's invite so and so.
S has a membership to the museum? Cool, so do we, we'll see if you want to meet up next time we're headed there.
Pumpkin patch, concerts in the park, frozen yogurt, etc.
Obviously this assumes you have friends with kids who get along with your own, but it's helped us feel a lot less isolated.
I also decided to invite my new mom friend over for wine after the kids are in bed since she's right across the street.

Glad to see I don't have to hate all of you. All I've bought for Christmas are a few stocking stuffers, a book for Chase, and a couple small presents for Colin that were supposed to be for his birthday until DH bought something way cooler. Sigh... To be fair, we have a big night of Amazon shopping planned and I may just take Friday off to do some wrapping and brick and mortar shopping.

I’m done shopping for my kids, but i still need to get something for my parents, siblings, niece and nephew, and the kids’ teachers. So basically everyone else. Whoops. Oh and I’m having a 3rd bday party at my house on the 22nd for Z’s bday. I need to figure out a menu and gift bags for the kids. Also a cake. cagoldi and vegan friendly ideas that are also gluten free and don’t involve corn? Lol. My friend and her family are vegan but there’s also several allergies among them, the most prominent being celiac. I was considering Italian food and having vegan friendly pasta options. Thoughts? |

Oh and I’m having a 3rd bday party at my house on the 22nd for Z’s bday. I need to figure out a menu and gift bags for the kids. Also a cake. cagoldi and vegan friendly ideas that are also gluten free and don’t involve corn? Lol. My friend and her family are vegan but there’s also several allergies among them, the most prominent being celiac. I was considering Italian food and having vegan friendly pasta options. Thoughts? @snoop,I have two vegan pasta dishes that are absolutely delicious, a raspberry dream cake (it kind of mimics a cheesecake), and chocolate peanut butter balls that are always a hit. I’ll post them links if you want them!

Speaking of teachers C has a teacher, assistant teacher, after school teacher (2-3 days) and after school assistant teacher. I get them all the same gift amount, right? I'm just doing Tim Hortons gift cards because there is one right by school. I'll probably throw in candy or fancy chocolate covered pretzels or something.

Hi! Had a busy day that included getting a Pap smear (nationwide you get an invite to get one every 5 years starting age 30), good times. Then had a great dinner with my sister, which was nice.

Re friends: I have a couple, not a lot. Lost a lot when I got pregnant with ds (I was the first among my friends). One of my now best friends is my husbands co-worker. We met 4 years ago at an event where my h played with his band and her dad played too. It was the weirdest thing, but we felt we had known each other since forever! I like cagoldi’s approach, to just plan things and invite people to tag along. I started doing that last summer and I worked well often  . |

nam2013, we get them yearly here, or my dr. says every 3 years since mine have never been anything other than normal. In fact, I've got mine scheduled for tomorrow. Yay!

The friends thing is hard. My best girl friends all still live in our hometown, mostly in the same neighborhood even. Almost all are teachers and a few of them have even worked together at times. Meanwhile I live 90 minutes away and don't have summers off, so it's hard to get much QT aside from our running text messages. If I want to see them, I have to go up there and hope they don't flake (someone always flakes). DH is in a similar situation with his best friends being in PA and CA, so at least he gets it and is supportive of me doing whatever it takes to spend time with my friends. And most of the local friends we've made over the years have gradually left the state, which is awesome.
We're friendly with a lot of the boys' friends' families but I'm pretty introverted and have a hard time putting myself out there to take things any further. At least I have some great coworkers - we're all at different ages and stages but after 11+ years, they're like a second family.

Speaking of paps, my biopsy results came back and they show fragments of polyps. She wants me to keep track of my bleeding for a couple more months and get back to her. If there's no chance she wants to do a D&C. I don't have an extra $4000 lying around though so that's probably not going to happen anytime soon.

I just got home. Didn’t leave as early as I wanted to, but I was trying not to be a burden. My lunch came up and just feel so blah.
I will be on the couch wrapped in a blanket watching tv until the boys get home.

I have barely started Christmas shopping. It's hard to believe Christmas is 2 weeks from today. Guess I should get on the ball. I told H we need to sit down and list out everything we need to buy. I told him that last weekend. We did not list anything out. I've bought nothing except a few things for the boys that are lost in the abyss of my storage unit and the Michelle Obama book for my grandma. |
