Cadence is snotty and has a cold, but isn't letting it slow her down. We just got back from gymnastics and she'll have swim in a bit. They moved our time slot up to 1230.

After that we'll be hanging out doing absolutely nothing. It's cold and rainy outside and I am not a cold and rainy kind of person.

Maybe I'll decorate the mantle....maybe not.

You guys, I had the worst situation last night! I’m so dumb. Ok, so I have basically my best friend A. We have a mutual friend L, who is sometimes a little... weird about stuff. Like she’ll invite one of us to something and not the other. But we’re not great friends so it doesn’t bother me. Anyway yesterday A mentioned to me that L was being kind of icey. Then L started texting me last night asking if I was going to the neighborhood Christmas party and getting The kids together. So I text A to ask if she was texting her too, since we live in the same neighborhood. She said no and asked what we were talking about so I screenshot my convo with L to show her rather then typing it all out. But I accidentally sent the screenshots to L!!! 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ I think I played it off because the shots were out of order as “showing” her that my phone was being weird. Such a rookie move though.

No we all live in the neighborhood. It’s kind of a lot of weird mommy politics that I was not expecting. A and I are besties and have been for years. Our kids are also best friends and we’ve know each other since we were pregnant with our first babies. We became friends with C when all our boys were in kinder. L lives next door to C and they also have a weird relationship. The thing with L is she kind of picks one person at a time to latch on to and will exclude everyone else. Like she’ll have a play date and invite me and A bit not C’s kids and then it’s awkward as hell because they live next door and know we are there and all playing.

And I genuinely wasn’t trying to be shady and there was nothing bad in the texts, it was just weird she was trying to make plans with me and iceing A out. And I was lazy and didn’t want to type out our conversation.

I met mh and the kids at the diner for lunch. We ordered mini ice cream sundaes for the kids and they delivered them to the family next to us who looked HORRIFIED at the prospect of sugar at noon and said, “oh no! They can’t eat this now.” TETO, I guess.
The waitress sent us home with two of those fold up cars they serve kids meals in. My kids have been busy with them for the last 30 minutes. Why do I buy real toys?

I’ve saved all the amazon boxes from this year for the kids to make all sorts of stuff with on the Christmas break, last year I was not so smart and put purging/cleaning in front of entertainment, rookie move.

I asked mh to spend a day doing something holiday-esque with Cadence. He chose today, while she has a cold, to go to the mall.
Apparently mall = holiday to him.

Whatever, I get a couple of hours to myself. Sweet silence!

The team that we played against for soccer today was over the top, one of the coaches commented to our coach that they are teaching and working on ‘agression’ right now, and pulled some shady shit during our 30 min game. Like, wut? These kids are 5-7 and hells no to that.

Our coach was pissed and i’ll be sending an email to the soccer organization about this, my kids team will not feel as though this is major competition at this age in a community league based team, not on my watch.

In other news, B and I went to Bulk Barn and spent far too much on baking supplies so as soon as the Queen wakes up I’ll be blasting the Christmas music and baking all afternoon! The.Best.

I have to stay on top of C's haircuts...she goes every 4 weeks like clockwork...but it is so easy having it short. I doubt I'll ever let it get really long, but I'm going to be sad when she inevitably wants it a bit longer.

vino we played a t-ball team like that this past season, it was obnoxious. Some people take this stuff *way* too seriously.
