Morning! I’ve got no plans today. I’ll take the kids to the library and to lunch but otherwise just hanging here. Hope you have good days!

I cant sleep in, regardless of the puppy or not. I woke at 5, which is technically 6 to me (damn time zones) and couldnt get back to sleep. Theres no coffee in the house we are staying in, so I'm going to wait for Evie to wake up, then run to Starbucks.
Today we are going to try to go to Garden of the Gods and maybe Pikes Peak. We want tk get about 4 hours towards home so the drive tomorrow is easy.

Today I go back to my regular job for the first time in 2 weeks since being gone for my second job. Should have a million emails. I hope my coworkers weren't too big of jerks dumping stuff on me in my absence.

Hope you have a good day!

Kids let me sleep in so I'm grateful for that. Idk what we're doing today. Our museum is finally completely open after 2 years of renovations. Kind of want to go see what they did that took 2 damn years.

We had a shit morning and I fucking hate starting the day like that. I’m sick of repeating over and over for B to get dressed. It’s so goddamn annoying.
I make his bed, put out his underwear, pants and socks, he picks a shirt. Sounds easy right!? We’ve been doing the same routine for 4 years and every single morning he ‘needs help’ or ‘doesn’t know what to do’. No, not anymore. He can dress himself, and I’m willing to be late to work a couple mornings if it means he’d get it.

vino it sucks to start the day like that! I’ll admit that half the time I still dress ds, it goes sooo much faster 🙄.

When I need him to do it himself, like this morning when I was putting together lunches and making his sandwich, he ‘can’t’ because we’ve been doing it. I’m not helping the situation by enabling him.

vino, sorry for the rough start. I still dress N every morning so I’m not much help but could you maybe pick a shirt together the night before? That way he just has to get dressed and not make any “big” decisions as soon as he gets up.

Morning, rushed start over here this morning. Woke up at 8:20 and managed to get myself and both boys up and out the door by 8:45 to bring N to school. Of course traffic was horrendous and took 40 minutes to get there normally only a 20 minute drive... school starts at 9:15. Now feeding C in the car before my massage appointment... hoping that he cooperates and sleeps through the whole thing.

I feel your pain. I let M pick out her clothes the night before and she still won't get dressed on her own in the morning. I'm late every day because of it and it's really fucking annoying. I hope you have better luck with B than I do with M & he'll start doing it for you.

I hear you vino. I make Ev dress herself too. It takes longer and she often looks like she dressed herself in the dark, but I can only do so many things and around here you gotta learn to be self-sufficient pretty quick. I had Theo clearing the table the other day, and my grandma practically accused me of child labor 😂 A few days of pain will be worth it in the long run. If you incentivize him, he will probably get on board quick.

I was up from 1-2:30 with H and then MH took over for a bit. He couldn't stop coughing. I'm worried it may turn into croup because there was a confirmed case in his class last week. His cough doesn't sound very barky yet though. I may keep him home tomorrow depending on how he does today/tonight.

Morning! Just dropped H at school. Her teacher said there were 5 kids missing yesterday from either fevers or stomach bugs. Fx the 5 days off from school allows everyone to get healthy. Today is super busy, H has her 5 year check up after lunch, then both girls have dentist appts. And after that I have to work this evening.

Decided to skip work today. I'm currently laying in bed with Starbucks watching a Netflix documentary called Dogs.

Living the best life klong11. Wise decision. The girls typically dress themselves right when they get up and that I'm grateful for...it's the other stuff to get them out the door and bath time that kills me. I'm trying to clean up in the kitchen last night and tell them to go up and take their baths and brush their teeth. Of course WWIII quickly erupts, they won't stop fighting, no one has even gotten near the bath. Demons.

Dressing is hit or.miss at our house. This morning we had to do it for her while she laid in bed because she refused to get up. Mh tends to do it for her, whereas I'm very much for her doing it herself, so I explain that if she doesn't have her clothes on by the time I'm ready to go, then she doesn't get to go. I only have to dress her on the weekends though. Since she has the braces we have to do those.

vino , we still help dress a lot over here, but sometimes what works with L is to make it a game/ race. Like, bet you can't get dressed before I finish drying my hair! He goes for it every time. *knocks on wood* Trust, I've tried everything. Races, rewards, punishment, money, bribing etc. And he still doddles around on his own time. That's awesome that it works for you, FX L isnt lurking here

dapostrophe , hope you are feeling better today! vino , we go through phases with S dressing himself. He's slower than I like, but he does usually get it done. I usually lay out his clothes then go in, get B, get him out of his crib, change his diaper, dress him, then come back and sometimes S is done (S is supposed to get dressed and brush his teeth during that time). Edit - I hit reply b/c someone walked in my office, but I meant to add, you have my sympathy. It's so annoying the days that I have to fight him the whole time.

Oh, and in the midst of their refusal to bathe last night, Madison comes in the family room totally pissed off and glares at me and forms the middle finger. She doesn't flip me off per se, she's holding her hand down. I ask her if she knows what it means, yadda yadda. Basically she knew it was bad and did it anyway.
