Dessert help. I'm in charge of bringing dessert to Thanksgiving at my aunt's. Any ideas? Must travel well because we are going to another Thanksgiving before. Also must be relatively easy. Any ideas? Other than store bought, of course. These are always a hit and you can make in advance. www.allrecipes.com/recipe/63959/magic-cookie-bars-from-eagle-brand/I have a great recipe for a chocolate toffee cake (that looks very involved but isn’t) if you’re interested. Pumpkin, pecan and Dutch apple pies are all T’giving staples in our family, too. No shame in picking up something from a bakery, IMO! |

Ooh I’ve seen that in PD’s cookbook that I have and always mean to make it. I did make her Better than Sex dessert once and it was very good, lol. I'm not a huge dessert fan but this recipe is amazing. Last time my MIL made it the center of it didn't cook all the way. I still ate it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ |

It's snowing. I went to the grocery store because I want soup tomorrow, but stopping on the way home sounds like fresh hell. It's cold enough that I can leave my eggs, milk and chicken in the back of my Jeep and don't have to worry about it. I hate winter.

Evie's birthday is next Thursday. Her party is next Saturday. We received the message that H's uncle passed away today, and my first thought was 'I hope this doesn't fuck up Evie's birthday or party.' I feel bad that is where my mind first went.

flamingo I hope recovery goes well for B! T was the only kid who had school today. I took the big kids for flu shots, T and C have appointments next week. I gave up on getting them all at once because one or more has been on antibiotics since the doctor got the shots in. Then my sisters invited us to lunch and I felt bad leaving T out so I picked him up and took him with us. 10 kids at lunch was crazy but they did good. Just finished putting the Halloween stuff away in the attic. Now I’m trying to get the energy to assemble and install C’s convertible car seat. He is at the max height already for his carrier.

S had a clear check up with the ophthalmologist today! We are dropping from every 6 months to once a year! I’ll take that as a win! Have to take those “wins” where I can since I don’t feel like next weeks neurologist appt will be the same outcome.
Then I called my mom who is really struggling with pain post knee replacement. She started crying, it’s hard to hear your parents in such a vulnerable spot and in so much pain. She’s always so strong in most situations so it’s hard to see/hear her like that.

lfig Sorry about your mom...I know it's hard. And this won't help, but it will likely take 12+ months to completely heal. I don't think H's doctor every told us that upfront. He still has quite a bit of pain, but it's manageable now. Just make sure she does her PT religiously and listen to her doctor. Glad you got good news about S!

We don't have to be at the surgery center til 11:45; B is already saying he's super hungry, this should be a fun morning. Just reading this. O’s Dr schedules youngest first so his surgery was at 7:30. I hope everything goes well! |

On the flip side my FIL had both his knees done last year and in a few months he said the pain as far less than he was experiencing prior. I’m sorry she’s hurting though lfig. Yay for S! |

After speaking with the pedi, we decided to give H the prevnar booster again. I’ll have to remember to contact the immunologist in a couple of weeks so he can put the lab orders in to recheck his levels.

We are home, Bradley plowed thru some pancakes and scrambled eggs, had ice cream for dessert, and now he and C are playing in the shower. So needless to say I think he’s feeling ok  Thank y’all for the good wishes! So happy to have this behind us. |

O has been great during the day but the nights can be hard because he wakes up crying in pain. Just want to give u a heads up so you have medicine ready. Are you giving him Tylenol or something stronger? |
