I know! I can't remember if they said they schedule the most complex cases early, or the youngest patients early. But regardless, he won't go in for the procedure until 1:45, from what they said. It's a children's hospital, so hoping they'll have lots of things to engage him until go-time. And obviously I'm bringing stuff, too.

College applications and acceptance is so different these days than it was even 8yrs ago! SD has had 2 acceptances letters after she received info about scholarships or applying to the honors college. She heard from 1 school just 1 week after her application was submitted. 8yrs ago I was registering for graduate classes on carbon copy paper. And MH got employee of the month for his district. Super proud of them both!

I'm wondering if MH will do anything with it until I return. I haven't seen the full extent of the damage. Obviously she has bangs now. But apparently it goes over to the side quite a bit too. Since she just got a short haircut there wasn't much to lose. If he doesn't take her to the salon this weekend I might have to next weekend depending on the side.

Dessert help. I'm in charge of bringing dessert to Thanksgiving at my aunt's. Any ideas? Must travel well because we are going to another Thanksgiving before. Also must be relatively easy. Any ideas? Other than store bought, of course.

one of my mom group friends that I am not super close to posted a picture of her D13 twins going hunting for the first time with their new step-dad. Then she posted a picture of his results. lots of people hunt here hunt here. I am definitely not from the area and not used to those kinds of photos. I also don't know about taking 2 5yr olds alone on a day hunt. I guess there is just one more person I will be hiding on FB

Definitely. She’s very lucky C wasn’t in the car. Although I would hope I would be calmer to show a good example I am pretty sure it would have went the other way. I asked her if she was high (she seemed off) and recommended she no drive anymore if that is what she really though.

wineallthetime, S has been saying mean things lately, I always turn it around on him. For instance, this morning MH went in to get him first thing and he screamed to him that he didn't want him, he only wanted me. I asked him how it would feel if he came in to me and I told him I didn't want him, I only wanted B. I do it with his friends too, sometimes he will tell someone he doesn't want to play with them and they will come up crying (not a random kid, but our little friend group we meet at the park most weekends), I'll ask him how he would feel if Friend A said that to him.

It usually helps him to understand that his words make others feel bad

flamingo, our Dr said he did the cases by age, since you can't explain to a 1 year old why they can't eat or drink. B was about 19 months and we had to be there at 6:30 AM for an 8 AM surgery.

wineallthetime, they really don’t realize how much words can hurt, N has said some hurtful things lately and I’m pretty sure it’s just learning what he can and can’t say. I’m glad he said he was joking and you mentioned how it hurt your feelings. Sorry it’s been one of those weeks! We’re always here if your feeling up to talking about it.

Thanks for the birthday wishes for the Queen. She woke up dancing in her crib and declaring ‘MY BIRTHDAY’ over and over.

My SIL is flying in today and we’ll have a celebration this evening for her with a Minion cake and ordered in Chinese food! Yum!
