I’m up pumping. 1/2 way done. Today LO has school pictures. I’m paying the extra $6 so the red marks from HFMD can be retouched out. It’s also suppose to rain today. We need it so I’m not complaining.

Morning! It is children’s book week over here, and I always take the kids to a book store and let them pick out a book, but ds had no intention of getting out of his pyjamas one single bit. So we stayed home and I’m cleaning out our very messy book case (s). The kids are playing together, ds is explaining things about animals, it’s so cute.

So we missed picture day last year so please excuse my ignorance.
When did you school pictures require you to buy before you see the pictures? Has it always been this way. What if your kid looks silly?
Am I crazy thinking my mom use to get a packet with a proof before ordering?

nam2013 I love that you have a book week. That’s great. It’s also a little funny that LO got his books I ordered through the school yesterday. There’s national one for adults and one for children, there always a national ‘reading to’ geared towards younger kids week. Within each of these week you receive a book for free when spending an x amount of books and you can usually buy a hardcover picture book for €5-7  . This year’s theme is friendship. Almost all school & daycares pay extra attention to reading and books during these weeks. |

What if your kid looks silly? Am I crazy thinking my mom use to get a packet with a proof before ordering? Last year we got the packet with proofs then chose our package to buy. This year the school switched to a different company and we have to choose the package and send it in on picture day. It felt weird to me, but they insist that they do free re-takes so it shouldn’t be a big deal. |

It’s annoying so I usually do a small package and they often give the option to order more after. |

I haven’t been able to get out of bed in time to work out the past three mornings. I feel like a lump but obviously my body needs the rest so I’m trying not to be too down on myself and will catch up eventually.

I think the only thing I’ve had to preorder is sports/team pics; all his school pics we’ve gotten a proof.

Picture day here as well! chrisy01 back in the day I remember my mom had to preorder ours, then we had a day of retakes if we wanted them. |

As to pictures, we get to order afterwards (thank goodness bc we’ve had some pretty terrible ones). But I have some friends who have to do it before. I think that’s totally ridiculous to order before you see them!!

My kindergarten picture I was licking my lips and didn't realize they were taking the picture, so my tongue is sticking out. My teacher also happened to be making ornaments with our pictures that year, so my parents still have that picture front and center on their Christmas tree every year. |

Happy belated birthday lahdeedah! I hope you had a great day! You all are making me jealous with school pics, I don't think Evie's preschool does them. We are still trying to figure out if we will all make the trip to Colorado for the funeral. It's Wednesday. I'm sure the family has a reason for having it in the middle of the week, but I'm annoyed. I reminded H that Evie has a field trip to the pumpkin patch Tuesday, which I'm already off for. He doesn't want her to miss that. So the only way for all of us to make it is to leave immediately when we get home from the field trip, google tells me it's ~9 hour drive, which would get us in about 8pm. So possible, but I'm not sure how E would handle being in the car for the entire day. |

I’ve parent volunteered for B’s first kinder fieldtrip today in ‘Forest School’. It’s outside all day walking through the river valley and letting the kids explore, I’m to follow their lead so who knows where we’ll end up. It’s cool out, so I’ve got my touque and mitts ready to go!

Preschool canceled bc there’s no power. A freak tornado hit some of the towns to the south of us. I didn’t hear about the town Josie’s school is in, but I guess it suffered some of side/after effects.

It's my mom's birthday.
She really wants to go to family therapy with me today, so my sisters are coming over to watch P for a few hours.
Then I'm making her favorite dinner and taking her to pick out some stuff at LUSH.

I'm up. The boys have been falling asleep in our bed then we move them to theirs. M normally stays there all night. J comes in around 3. Last night it was 1 and m came in at 6 so A went to their bed. I didn't sleep much.
It's been storming and raining a lot so we're not going snorkeling. I'm disappointed. I wanted to see the sea turtles.

I hate it because sometimes it’s a waste of money because they don’t seem to try real hard to get a good pic. But I know the 1 time I don’t order she will probably have an awesome pic so I just do it. |
