We do this to. We RSVP yes to everything unless we have set plans. same. But also because the thought of a kid throwing a birthday party and no one showing up breaks my heart. So if we are free, we go Yeah we do show up. Last year we had dd's at the inside bounce house place. We invited 9 and only 5 showed and 2 of them were family so really only 3. DD was find and had fun, but definitely asked why so and so didn't come despite saying they were

We invited 19 to DS party this year and 7 didn't even bother to RSVP. 8 kids did come so he had a great time but damn people just let me know!

It worked for us because we actually had won that birthday party at a carnival so I didn't feel like I lost money out, but still paid for the food etc.

I most definitely do not RSVP yes to everything unless I have set plans. MH works a lot of weekends so I’m all in for something where my kids are entertained and fed, and I don’t have to do it.

We RSVP to everything and make it work Mostly because there is huge chunks of DD's life that she wasn't able to attend at all--so now we make it up to her.
However, luckily most of the. things are smaller events and more infrequent. So it isn't a huge time suck or big deal to us.
