2,000 sq ft is pretty typical for my area (and what we have). We use our formal living room as our playroom...along with the basement. Between 900-1300 is the norm in my area. I just can't imagine. We have 2400 but the layout isn't ideal and we need more storage. Or I needed to not marry a hoarder.

We have a good set up on the main level, but I’d really like to finish the basement, so we had another space for the kids to play (or lounge when they’re older)

We were comfortable in our last house, which was 2400, but there were some things I would have changed about how the square footage was allocated (For ex, used some of ginormous master suite space in common areas). Our next house will likely be around 3000 and I think that is perfect, bc it will give us large common rooms, bigger kids bedrooms, and a 5th bedroom or bonus room to be used as office/playroom. Our first house together was around 1200, I think (3/2 Cape Cod). The people who lived there before us had 3 young children in that house and I have no clue how they did it—where they put things like a baby swing, kids toys, etc. I’ll never know.

My formal living is the kids playroom...which has now spilled into the formal dining, too. Basically my formal dining is just toys & a wine fridge.

Our house is 1090ish on the main level and it was fine with just one kid...but it’s tight with 2. I can’t wait till our basement is finished, it’ll almost double our square footage. ETA: we don’t have a play room, everything is in the living room and the girls’ bedroom. As soon as the basement is finished, it’s all going downstairs.

Is it cutting the elastic? Yes So I should just not be so cheap and stop trying to reuse the elastics since they’re like $2 for 500000 of them, right?

Morning all. Yesterday we had all these plans to run errands in the morning but J fell off of MH shoulders in a store, so off to the Children’s hospital we went. She’s fine, thank God, but damn what a fucking scare. B and I bravely went to the mall on back to school weekend and it was good! He was such a joy and it was nice to have one on one time with him. I also caved and got him the Star Wars backpack and matching lunch kit for kinder #softie www.gapcanada.ca/browse/product.do?pcid=5058&vid=1&pid=292645003&searchText=Star+wars

Our house is 1400 square feet and we're bursting at the seams.
Hi. Woke up to my period, yippee!
My pedi called and wants me to come in during her urgent care hours so I can get Dude a couple more vaccinations. They aren't supposed to get these until they're five, but the school says he needs them now for TK. I haven't told him yet. He'll be thrilled, I'm sure.

I use the elastics on S’s hair and half up styles/braids on H’s hair.

Poor J vino! Was he just not holding onto her well? I’m glad she’s ok. nam2013 you are in the city right? We had 1100 in Boston and that was pretty big for the city. No storage space but it was livable.

We are going to a cookout at friends from a thousand years ago. More Dhs friends than mine and it’s an hour and a half away so I’m dreading it a bit. They are all social workers and I always feel like I have nothing in common. I’m less irritable today though so that’s good.

I’ve moved on to regular hair tires that match Josie’s hair. And I am excited that the scrunchy is making a return because I think it’s a lot gentler on hair.

wedding we’re in the city, although I’m not sure you’d would consider it that big. I mean even Amsterdam only has 900.000 citizens 🤷🏼♀️.

I hate hair elastics and so do the girls. Thy are too small for me to put in with my non dainty fingers. They hate how they pull on their hair.

We have two spaces in the house that have no purpose right now. We have a really nice atrium, and one of those open second floor landings. That’s currently serving as a “book nook”, but we only have chair (a recliner) up there so it’s not super functional for more than one.

Our old house was around 2000 sq ft but with MH's hoardiness it was so cramped. Now we have 3000 sq ft which is way more than we need but so nice. The bedrooms are large and the family room is huge. I personally don't like play rooms but all of the girls' stuff fits neatly in their rooms and we always use the linen closet as a game closet. MH has made great strides in reducing the amount of foolishness he has but there's more that could be done.
