GhoatMonket, I've been trying to figure out how much time to devote to certain things at the gym. A lot of the time, I only have an hour or so. I typically focus on cardio but know that if I incorporated weight training, that would help. Should I be trying to do both each time I'm there, or should I do all cardio one day and all weight training another?

I need to check in because I totally binged yesterday. I was definitely eating my feelings. I've been slow at work though this morning, so I've written out what I will have for meals this week so I can stick to it. Does anyone else struggle with their SOs not being on the same page? MH has always been lean muscle with very little effort and eats whatever he wants, so he doesn't see the need for a change. It's really starting to affect me to see poptarts and chips and all my previous binge foods in the cupboard every time I open it. Right here with you on the SO front. DH is very muscular and very tall so he eats like a dumptruck and still looks great. Keeping a food long really helped me to not eat things that would throw me off my calories.

Well even with vacation I lost .8, not much but I definitely was not very good about my eating while on vacation! Hopefully I can be better this week and lose more! but in less than a month I am down 8.4 pounds.

I don't know why it's taken me 5 days to figure out we are here now.
I had a goal of getting into a size 8 by end of June and I went shopping this weekend and it already fits! Now I just have one more size until I all my pre baby stuff fits.

Lots and lots to eat & drink this weekend. It was so fun. I did well yesterday, with the exception of some chips (out of the bag, so I ate way too many!) & a cocktail in the evening.
Weigh in was today. I'm up .5 lb from last Wednesday (though I'm technically up 3 from when I weighed in on Saturday- water weight I suspect).
I didn't workout on Sunday or Monday. But yesterday I ran (walking/running intervals) 4.5 mi on the treadmill at the gym and then took a 2 mile walk with DD2 in her stroller in the afternoon.
So...back on track today. My goal for this week is to stick to my daily points each day and use only my weeklies for which ever day we celebrate FIL's bday (it's Friday so we'll either go to dinner or have a cookout this weekend - depends on the weather). I also will workout each day.

Actually weight training is one of the most helpful ways to drop BF% as increase in muscle mass increases your metabolic needs. If you maintain your intake and your metabolic requirements are higher, that will lead to fat loss. The scale may go up, but the BF% will be down. Slowly may be accurate as it pertains to weight loss, but not for fat loss. GM - do you have tips as to were to start for weight training? I'm probably over thinking it but should I just hop on a machine at the gym or find a program at home - or is there a video for beginners that shows the moves and proper form? This is where Bikini Body Mommy really worked for me (horrible name, but it works). Her workouts are short, and the strength days do a lot to teach you basic moves so you can focus on good form and gaining strength. BBM was a really good spring board for me to Firness Blender. com. I bought a set of Power Blocks and an incline bench, and am in the market for a bar.

I struggled to stay compliant with my macros this week, mostly because AF is due tomorrow so I went off the rails last night (at least the peanut butter cookies I made are finally out of the house). I lost 2.5 lbs this week, but because I wasn't compliant they didn't re-calculate my numbers. In other news, I had my first AM workout of my adult life. I woke up at 5am and did a lower body strength routine. It was ugly, but I did it.

The weekend was not as bad as it could have been but not great. I was up half a pound this morning but I suspect it is mostly water weight and that tomorrow morning if be down about half a pound. Trying to just ignore the scale until next week. My pants fit better, which is nice.

GhoatMonket , I know you do macros instead of calories, but do you have a general range you usually hit? I'm curious. I'm sitting here thinking about doing this the rest of my life and it is bumming me out. LOL Mine are adjusted weekly based on progress. I have to be within 10% of each and within 5% of total calories to be compliant. I don't track daily. I track some days or some things each day. I have a rough idea of what I should be eating for the most part.

If you go HAM one day, you can still salvage the week (unless it's weigh in day).

LOL I've mostly made peace with the fact that I will always have to watch what I eat in order to stay within a healthy weight range. It will always be work for me. But as far as I can see, it will always be worth it to stay healthy. But yea....it's daunting.

I had a good day yesterday & didn't lose it at the end of the day like I did on Tuesday. Today's meal plan:
B: Egg white omelet w/ veggies & Asiago cheese, coffee w/ half & half 3 pts S: cottage cheese, fruit 2 pts L: hamburger w/ salad 14 points - my work is having a cookout. So I'm having a burger w/ roll & brought my own salad so I can skip the chips. S: Santa Fe Chicken (Skinny taste recipe) 3 pts, unsweetened apple sauce 0 pts D: Salmon w/ riced cauliflower and roasted veggies 7 pts
This puts me at 29 points for the day. I will be working out later so I'm OK w/ going over by a couple of points for a snack after I workout.

Hello! I wanted to check in and share a positive. Yesterday I was at target and found a dress I really liked but wasn't sure if it would fit. My mom made me try it on so I did. It fit and was a little loose! I could have sized down but it was the only one left so I bought it. I'm so happy! This is the first positive experience in two years where I found something I loved and actually fit. In the past I have been beaten down by shopping for clothes and finding that nothing would fit and have to settle for something that was okay. I'm happy for the non-scale victory.
Keep up the great work people! We can do this!

Add me to the list of people stalling out. I'll be happy in ten more pounds, but I'm struggling. I SUCK at drinking water, which is my new goal. So I'm trying to find ways to get into better habits there. I didn't realize how very little hydration I was taking in.
Congrats to the ladies enjoying better fitting clothes! That is an awesome feeling.

I've been trying to force at least 3 bottles of water and hoping to make 4 soon.

Kida, and snowyowl, there are apps you can download that will remind you to drink water. I haven't used them because I am really good about drinking water (unless I'm drinking wine!) Also, I find that if I start my day with a small glass of water (6-8 oz) before doing anything it sets me up for a good day of healthy eating and drinking my water.

Another good day yesterday. I ended up making a teriyaki salmon for dinner that was delish! And after weight training in the evening I ended up making myself a turkey wrap with the 4 points I had for the day (I didn't have my afternoon snack, so I had more leftover).
Today is my treat day (I recently read an article by a trainer who calls it "Treat Day/Meal" instead of cheat. I like that. We're going our for FIL's bday and it's Student Appreciation Day at work. They have The Sausage Guy (from Fenway Park) coming to serve Italian sausage. So I have a plan.
B: egg white veggie scramble, coffee w/ cream 2 pts S: banana, cottage cheese, orange 2 pts L: sausage 15 pts S: Santa Fe chicken 3 pts D: Caesar salad, bread w/ butter, 2 dirty martinis 29 pts Total: 51 pts. I will still have weekly and fit points leftover for the rest of my weekend.

I really went off the rails last weekend between celebrating with friends and then a stressful emergency room visit with the little one. It has taken all week to get my mindset back in the right place... and as a result, I was emotionally eating garbage all week.
I have made a conscious effort to get up early to meditate for the past 4 days and I went for my first run in a month today. It feels good to making a fresh start and feeling positive about things again.

Check in time:
I haven't been tracking my food this past week. I just needed a mental break from cAlorie counting. I'm signing up for WW Monday and I'm trying to get my mom to do it but she is hesitant. I'm not sure why.
I've been at my parents for less than a week but I mentally feel so much better. I'm going to sleep at a decent time and it's good quality sleep. I've hit 10+ steps since I've been here and walking 5+ miles. I plan to start bikini body girl Monday and hopefully with the amount of walking and adding the baby workout I'll start toning up. I took a break from weight training for about a month and was just doing cardio. I'm not sure why I did it but I can tell I've lost muscle definition.
As for food, I haven't tracked for a week. Usually when I visit my parents I'm constantly eating and snacking (I've always done this). Well I haven't been snacking at all and if I do it's a piece of fruit. This is a huge step in the right direction. I think it helps to have a toddler to chase around.
My goal this coming week is to eat breakfast (I haven't been doing a great job of this), Keep hitting 10k+ steps, do bbg workout 3 times a week, and make sure I'm drinking 1 gallon of water a day.
Have a great day! And seeing your success is so motivating to me so thanks for that!

I started with a new trainer today because my old trainer left for a new job. It's interesting to experience a different persons approach. I like him though and think he will do a good job challenging me
I am able to wear some of my dresses from my pre-baby wardrobe, the ones that are the S/M/L sizing instead of dress sizes. It's kind of fun because even though most of them are 2-4 years old, they feel like new again.
