So, I didn't do so great this weekend. But I was active, so there's that. I don't feel like it erased any of my progress, but I do wish I'd done better. Back on track today. I have my breakfasts for the week prepped and 4 of my lunches. I left the house w/o a plan for dinner, so I went home on my lunch break and put in chicken thighs w/ potatoes in the crockpot for dinner. For today: B: baked oatmeal S: almonds L: deli snack box S: yogurt, fruit D: garlic parmesan slow cooker chicken This will give me about 200 cals leftover. I think I'll have a glass of wine with dinner

I need to go to the grocery store. I'm all out of my go to vegetable sides. Tonight we had leftover grilled chicken and sweet potatoes. I wanted something else with it and ended up just slicing a tomato. I need something green!

Yesterday was a mess for me. I packed up today's breakfast and lunch last night, then proceeded to leave my meat at home.
Damn it.

It turned out that my dinner was heavier on the calories than I had expected. But the portion of potatoes was huge (8 oz, which is 1.5 medium sized potatoes) so I had about half of that. So I ended the day a little over (like 50 calories). Only because I was pretty inactive for the day (no workout, 8K steps).
I worked out this morning and have a solid plan for my meals today. Except for dinner, nothing planned. But it's just me & the girls so I can make myself a salad or a sandwich and not have to worry about H's dinner (he's out of town for work today).
I really want chicken pot pie soon. Does anyone have a good healthy-ish recipe for it?

I'm officially back to work on Thursday, but I went to work in my classroom the last couple days. I'm doing OK with keeping up with water, but today I forgot my snack and got shaky. I ended up having a packet of my daughter's cheese nips. Way too make calories for the pay off but I had to have something. I have to get some good snacks in my work fridge.

I've been loving the Greek yogurt ranch dip and veggies. I make a big container of it and keep it and pre cut veggies in my work fridge. I also have cantaloupe and strawberries in there right now

angelashly I took up some sliced peppers and carrots with hummus and some string cheese. I am heading to the store in a bit and will probably get some almonds and beef jerky to keep up there, too. I also need to get some green tea. Thanks for the suggestion about the Greek ranch dip. I have made that before and it will be a good change from hummus. ET fix words

DH and I need to have a little chat about "easy" meals. Yes, ordering pizza and chicken alfredo is easy. It's also why we were fatter dude.
Go buy a rotisserie chicken and a bag of salad. Cheaper and far more healthy.

Cheaper and far more healthy. This is our most recent change and I love it. I go grocery shopping Sunday night and grab a $5 chicken for dinner now. We hate cooking on Sunday, but don't want to eat takeout 2x in the weekend. We had to quit frozen pizza when I joined WW.

Mine does, but he's trying to get a bunch of stuff done before he goes back to work so he's busy all day. He's already complaining about gaining weight since he's been home. Well duh. We are eating crap. I actually happy I'm maintaining right now.

I've been working on my classroom all week, and I used it as a practice for keeping up with water and staying on track with calories. With the exception of forgetting my snack yesterday, I've stayed on track.
I am SUPER nervous that when school starts and my personal classes start (online courses for a new certification ), I'm going to be so busy and tired that all of my positive changes will start to fall apart.

This. copperboom, if you have room- pre-cook some chicken breasts and freeze them in serving size bags. You can do the same with green beans (or whatever veggie you like). I use the cheapie snack bags, then put those inside one large freezer bag. Get some shelf stable Minute Rice cups. If you can stomach the flavored tuna pouches, keep a few of those around for a quick snack/meal option. The rice cups and tuna live in my desk as work as back up (with the exception of Monday when I forgot to restock my pouches) for when I don't have time to prep.

Thanks for the advice. I'm pretty good about packing lunches and snacks the night before (I pack up everything for the day before I go to bed.)
My teaching partner loves to order in lunch, but she knows I'm trying to lose weight, so I know she won't try to tempt me. Im more worried about meals at home. It is soooo easy to get home and collapse and just pick up fast food or order a pizza. Im going to have to be really purposeful with meal planning and prepping things on the weekend.
I'm also concerned about keeping up with exercise. I work out at night, and I am going to be trying to fit in school stuff, my own classes and workouts. I will probably have to do some of that while the kids are awake to have enough time.

If you have to choose between exercise and meal prepping to stay on track, always, always, always pick food. You can lose weight without exercising.

I will probably have to do some of that while the kids are awake to have enough time. Since I don't know your schedule, I don't have advice about fitting it in. I will say that I prioritize my workouts because I need them. I've been working out 3-5 times a week, every week for the past 4 years. It's my sanity. My house is a little messier, my kids gets a bit more screen time, but I just have to do it. I don't have to spend hours at the gym, but I do need 30-45 minutes of "me time". There's 24 hours in the day - I need one to myself. When I don't have child care, I workout at home with a video. Sometimes it's after the kids go to sleep, sometimes it's before everyone wakes up for the day.
I also ask (make) MH help me to make the time.

I may have hit my goal this morning and lost 15 pounds this summer. I have been under a pound away for a few days and today the scale a pound lower than my goal. I feel like that was artificially low. I'll weigh in again tomorrow before I log my weight. But, I feel good.
And then I went to work and no one said anything so I guess it's not visible to anyone else yet. 😜
ETA not that I expect people to notice daily changes. I haven't seen most of my coworkers since the end of May, so I wondered if there would be comments.

Ali7P, yes, I love my me time when I work out. I don't love the work out too much, but the time is great. Right now I work out 5-6 days a week. When school starts I hope to maintain at least 4 times a week, primarily for the stress relief.

I'm being an AW tonight, but I feel like sharing. First official day back at work, and the temptations are ALL over the place. Cake in the workroom, candy dumped all over tables in our meeting, people baking things to share tomorrow...it is not hard to see why I gain weight during the school year. My victory today is that I didn't cave (and didn't even really want to) even though a snickers was within arms reach of me all day long. And, I prepped lunch and didn't run out for fast food.

Great job copperboom, My office is the same. Ordering lunches out, doughnut Friday, bagels often, candy. It is a mess. I have been having those fiber one cakes and brownies while others eat the sweets so that I can still have a sweet treat with them.

@cooperboom GhoatMonket the instant pot has changed our takeout routine. I can throw frozen chicken breasts and a sauce in the IP and eat it in 20min. This alone has made it worth it on busy nights.
