I'm so happy for you Rama! Our finances changed as well but we are all so much happier with me staying home. Like you, I was hating my job and removing that stress from my life has been so worth it.

The field trip yesterday was AWFUL. I can't believe no other parents came. They had only 2 teachers for 8 3-4 year olds. And the place was not at all age appropriate for them . I ended up carrying random kids around all day.
Thankfully last night I had a buti class and then afterwards we went out for drinks. We actually got painted up with glow paint and did the class in Black light so we all looked ridiculous at the bar afterwards.
And today I booked my tattoo for Noelle! I'm so excited!

Today is our 6 year anniversary. We spent the day at DS1s dance class and a b-day party for a kid from his daycare. We are really living the parenting life over here. My mom offered to take DS1 for the night but she wouldn't be able to get him back for swimming tomorrow morning and we would still have DS2 so we still wouldn't be able to go out. Plus I didn't want her to have to deal with DS1 without a nap since my threenager isn't exactly a joy to have around when rested.

Flowers, including a rose for her middle name, on my shoulder. That's sweet. I hope you share pictures! I booked one for November to get both of my kids' birth month flowers (daffodils and lily-of-the-valley.) I thought I wanted it in colour but I already have a primarily yellow tattoo that didn't hold the ink well.

snowmoon I thought I wanted color too but all the examples I liked were black/gray. I love color but for some reason all my tattoos end up being black/gray.

We're moving E into the crib tomorrow she'll still be in our room but I'm sad she's outgrown the bassinet. She's rolling all over the place in there and keeps ending up bent in half sideways.

Rama yay! I hope you feel better with that decision and I’m glad it will work. Financially it’s a shift, but was way easier than we expected. things have a way of working out.

mintyblueair no offense to your cousin, but seriously?? I hardly find time to clean weekly and I am a neat freak. No way could I bleach my kitchen and baths daily. Speaking of cleaning...how’s it going for y’all? I’m struggling to refund my groove and my bigs destroy everything as soon as I tidy up. I feel like I’m constantly working against myself.

+1 to the ravenous baby who must be having a growth spurt. He is so hungry all the time. I need to drink more water...

Happy anniversary stardust84! We are anniversary twins. And it's our 6th as well. I'm sorry you weren't able to get out. It's hard managing a night out with two small kids.

It’s a struggle for sure. I “try” to take a couple hours in the morning and send the bigs down to our playroom. If they let me do my chores then mama has more time to play and do fun things in the afternoon. It helps now that J is actually on more of a sleep schedule and napping in his crib. Cleaning is still mostly surfaces and not much extra for good deep cleaning. I just do what I can and know it has to be good enough.

I feel like it has to be 10 times harder to clean when you SAH - DD1 makes a mess as fast as I can clean plus still needs enough supervision/help that any longer task will end up getting interrupted ten times. I WFH once a twice a week when not on maternity leave and can get more done in the hour between dropping of DD1 and starting my work day than I can in an entire day of having her home with me.

Welp, it’s been a good run. Almost 3 months this time, but Toddler Mermaid has a cold and my throat is scratchy. It’s a matter of hours before it gets Baby Mermaid. We got on vacation next weekend, it better be long gone by then.

Cleaning here can be a struggle as well. I try to do a few things each day but sometimes they can't get done and then laundry or dishes pile up and I get overwhelmed with it. And of course there is more laundry with the baby and now that I SAH we are using so many more dishes. I have to run the dishwasher almost daily.
I usually sweep and mop and clean bathrooms when D1 is at school because it's easier with her gone but the baby has been making it difficult lately with her short naps.

We have a cleaning lady that comes every other week. So I disinfect the bathrooms and vacuum weekly. DH wipes down the kitchen when he does dishes nightly and I stay on top of laundry and picking up clutter.
Honestly it was way harder to stay on top of it when I was home on leave. Too many kids and people going in and out, making messes as fast as I could clean up.

I know I am going to regret it but I have been able to stay on top of cleaning by letting the baby nap on the carrier on me. If I didn't I wouldn't get anything done since I would be spending forever getting h to nap just to have him wake up 30 min later. DS1 is in full time daycare and if he was home there is no way I would get anything done

Right now I do most my cleaning on the days DS1 goes to daycare. The minute DS1 and hubby get home everything becomes a mess again it frustrates me. We really need to turn one of our rooms downstairs into a playroom to get some of the toys out of the main living room area. I think that would help. I hate all the clutter and would love for it to be gone. I wipe the cupboards off with soap and water or Clorox wipes at least once a week. Sweep daily and try to mop every other week. DH is in charge of vacuuming butbhe rarely does it. I really want maid service.

I’m really the only one that cleans here. H will load/unload the dishwasher and pick up around the house, but doesn’t really clean unless I ask him too. Or unless he sees me cleaning with an attitude. Then he knows I’m mad that I’m cleaning and he’s not helping. Although he did ask if there was anything he could help me with last week, so I asked him to clean our bathroom and DAMN did he clean it. Much more of a deep clean than I usually do! So that was nice. I only have one kid that stays where I put him, so I’m sure it would be so much harder with toddlers and older kids. I usually try to clean during his naps on Fridays when I’m off. I run around here like a chicken with its head cut off trying to get as much done in 30 min as I can and usually it’s a decent amount. I actually enjoy cleaning usually, but it’s definitely harder now.

Hahaha At the point I just want to condemn my house and start over. This speaks to me. Especially my fridge. It is so old that I have said multiple times that I just want a new one. I did a pretty thorough job on the upstairs a few weeks back by doing one room a day. I am a horrible procrastinator so dishes and clean laundry tend to take over the sinks and couch respectively, but I'm trying to do better. I'm hoping this week to get to the piles of stuff in the basement.
