So many thoughts, but mobile sucks... What are y’all eating these days? I am lacking meal inspiration and 5 people here expect food everyday.

Oh I hope it's nothing katietopaz! I've spent the last couple hours trying to figure out a schedule for DS and I. I loved when I had one before. I'm just frustrated that he only takes 30 min naps. And hardly goes more than 2 hours between eating. Also there's a March/April 2019 BMB! 😯 time has flown. Also thinking back to a year ago is crazy Ive already been creeping on it. The one year anniversary of me staring in disbelief at those two pink lines is next week. Ah nostalgia

Hope things are well katietopaz! Ugh. I hate meal planning with a passion. We do it to help with budgeting but I feel we’re always having the same things as well.

Meal planning is like my most hated thing. MH is picky-ish and cant eat tomato or lemon which cuts out a surprisingly large number of meals.
Sour cream enchiladas have been a staple lately (I add beans and corn to the chicken filling) with avocado and refried beans
Roast chicken (throw that sucker in the oven and keep it moving)
Steak sandwiches
Crumbed chicken tenderloins
Homemade pizza
Lamb wraps
Risotto balls (pre make risotto- I do a spinach and pumpkin one, and when it’s cool mix in mozzarella or feta (or both!), make into balls, roll in flour, egg, breadcrumbs. Spray with olive oil and bake for about 40 minutes.
Basically that’s all we’ve been eating in my house on rotation lol.

katietopaz i really hope it’s just the tula! i dont think being a stm has really helped me much either - i’ve had to call the nurseline like 3x. keep us posted. dizzycooks i’ve been doing a lot of sheet pan dinners that i can prep in the mornings or even night before. salsa fresca chicken from pinterest has been a staple since it takes 5 minutes to prep. chicken sausage sliced and cooked on the stove with roasted broccoli/cauliflower is also a staple. i get bags of frozen rice that you microwave for 3 min. basically my criteria for what i cook is like can i prep in 15 min or less. i can’t wait to be able to cook for real again, but i’m sure i’m like 10 years out from that.

I am going on a field trip with Em today. Which means being stuck on a bus with a bunch of preschoolers for an hour. Ugh.
Yesterday was my birthday! My H went way overboard and got us a hotel room in the city the night before. So I got to get margarita drunk and go on a ferris wheel.
Yesterday we took the girls to the beach and had THE BEST day.

The worlds worst cold is getting passed around my house. Any suggestions on how to keep DD2 comfortable. I elevated her head while sleeping and have been using the nose frida and saline. She’s clearly struggling while nursing and I just feel so so bad for her. Gagging/coughing on phlegm has caused her to throw up twice already today 😩. Meanwhile I feel like shit and have three hours of phone conferences today. Is there anything else I should be doing for her? How are things katietopaz?

I know its summer and probably hot as balls, but if its not too hot, wrap her in a muslin swaddle and bring her in a steamy shower with you. Poor kiddo. Nurse or bottle feed as much extra as you can so she gets the fluids. Hang in there

Yes! Since DH is going back to work next week and I'll be doing daycare pickups after work, I need suuuuper easy dinners from here on out. Sheetpan dinners are a good idea if its not too hot to turn the oven on. I also stock up on frozen veggies, which I feel bad about in the height of farmers market season but whatever. Theyre cheap, pre washed and chopped and easy to throw in a pan. Win.

Leaf 🌱 I’m sorry she’s so miserable (and you guys too!), that’s the worst. I was going to suggest a vaporizer, too, but otherwise it sounds like you’re doing everything you can at this age. DS2’s appt isn’t till this afternoon. We’re heading to the beach this morning. It’s the last week of my ILs’ month-long vacation out here, and my SIL flew in last night to join them. She’s excited to meet the baby! I normally wear DS2 in the Tula while we’re walking around/to/from the beach itself, so naturally I’m trying to figure out if that’s still okay to do. I’ll adjust the panel to be smaller again and just monitor closely.

I think we've decided to officially have me stay home. We've been crunching the budget for weeks and it's really hairline, but I/we really need this. I'm scared. Happy, of course, but terrified.

Nooooo mrsmonogrammed! Hope it’s just one and done so you don’t have a sick kiddo on vacation. Leaf 🌱 that’s all I could do for L when he was sick. It sucked. The worst of it was over in a couple days, but the symptoms hung on for a couple weeks. I hope you both feel better soon! calendula I’m happy dancing over here for you! cornpop that sounds like such a fun birthday! I’d kill for a beach trip right about now. Hope you’re surviving the field trip. For some reason, I’m imagining the teachers leading sing a longs the whole ride, so I truly hope that is not your reality. Rama that’s so great you and YH were able to make it work. Hopefully being able to stay home will outweigh the tight budget. I can understand the mixed feelings, but I am so happy for you!!

This is great! We have a fairly tight budget too while I’m home (although if the Reno’s ever end it will get a bit better, grr) and somedays it’s frightening but I find it so worth it. And I’m very excited for you!

After weeks of great night sleep N has decided to start waking up around 1:30am for a feed the past few nights. She's absolutely starving at that time and chugs 6 oz in no time, but during the day she'll never drink more than 5. And then she's usually up again at 5am for another bottle... I hope this is just a temporary growth spurt thing because I was loving the 7pm-5am stretch 😔
We're having a beautiful, hot day today and my cousin is coming to visit for the weekend. She's hard to feed because she will not eat anything except taco chips, sunflower seeds, plain vegetables, and caesar salad with dressing on the side. And that's not an exaggeration. But we're going to roast hot dogs in the backyard tonight with caesar salad and a chick pea salad, and hopefully she'll be good with that. She's also obsessive about cleanliness so I'm worried she'll have issues with my house lol. I keep things clean, but she bleaches her kitchens and bathrooms daily so I'm sure I don't meet her standards.
But despite her quirks I actually really enjoy her company, so I'm glad she's coming!

Nothing exciting to report from DS2's doctor's appt. His regular pedi wasn't working today so we saw someone else in the practice - he seemed baffled as to why I brought DS2 in. I finally got him to take a closer look at the marks and he agreed that they were unusual, especially since they're localized. He also agreed with my thought that it could be babywearing-related. We're going to hold off on any blood work for now, and check on the marks at his 4-month checkup in a couple of weeks. This all totally lines up with my gut. Side note: my 3.5 month-old weighs 17lbs 2oz. SEVENTEEN POUNDS. Rama I'm so glad to hear that! I know it's been weighing on you guys. mintyblueair Solidarity. DS2 did a couple weeks of solid stretches of sleep 9pm-6am, but the past few nights he's woken up at 3am acting starving. Here's hoping it's just a growth spurt and not the 4-month sleep regression.

Rama that is great that it is looking like you can stay at home. I hope it all works out for you. cornpop it sounds like you had a good birthday! Happy Birthday. katietopaz I am hope the marks go away and it ends up being nothing. I can relate to the WOW my baby is big stuff. I think he was about 16 lbs at 3.5 months. His 4 month check up is Tuesday. He will be about 4.5 months then but I am pretty sure he is over 17 pounds now. My arms get tired holding him especially when he is sleeping. Why does L hate the car seat so much? He screams of he isn’t sleeping. We are driving 12 hours to my in laws in a few weeks and have decided to take the bigger cars I that I can hopefully squeeze between both the car seats in the backseat. Hopefully him being able to see my face will help.

B just rolled on to his tummy like 3 times. Which is great but do I need to start transitioning him out of the RnP now? He likes to try to roll to his side in there but I buckle him up. I’m just worried now that he can actually roll he’ll be more inclined to try harder in bed.
We are leaving for vacation soon too and I was counting on the RnP to allow me to sleep well.

The post-partum hair loss has been so bad this time around. Way worse than it was with DS. It's noticeably thinner around my hairline and my eyelashes seem to be falling out too.

Mine has been way worse this time around, too. With the amount of hair I lose each day I'm shocked that I don't have visible bald spots! When I put my hair in a ponytail it feels about half as thick as it used to 😬

katietopaz hope it’s nothing and just from the Tula. Rama I’m so glad you guys are finding a way to make it work. I’ve both work full time and SAH and both are very challenging in different ways, but everybody has to do what is best for them and their family. Sorry for being such a bad poster. Life is just crazy with these three kiddies and I’m freaking exhausted. I try to catch up when I can.
