FML. G has HFM. Wonderful start to the holiday week. Now if I can keep myself from getting it that would be great. Dh and the girls already had it so we are good on that front.

lildiamondeyes We haven't had to deal with HFM yet, but it sounds awful. I hope it's fairly gentle on G and nobody else in your family catches it!

I signed DS up for our state's pre-K lottery a couple of weeks ago and I'm supposed to find out by the end of the week whether he gets a spot. I'm a bundle of nerves already.

Ugh, A had HFM last week. I'm sorry. Thankfully she only had a mild case, but of the four kids who got it, one of our friends definitely has it bad.

I texted everyone that we had contact with last week. No one else seems to have symptoms yet so that's good, right? Our plans for the 4th are up in the air. I think I can keep him isolated during fireworks and the parade.

I think there are multiple strains though so I would still be careful with your H and the girls. J was so so cranky when he had HFM. I hope you get through it quickly.

A is resisting naps hardcore. I'm assuming this is when some drop down to one regular nap? She's 15 months.

grover I've had to limit DD's morning nap to 20-30 minutes so that she'll take her afternoon nap. She is just a crying, whining mess if we keep her up past 10am, so we haven't transitioned to one nap yet. But if I let her sleep for a long time in the morning, I can't get her to sleep later in the day. She'll be 16 months next week.

We are on vacation with the ILs. J seems to have gotten past his leap in time and is having a blast and I get to sleep in every morning.

We are also in the one nap transition. It sucks. But a 4 hour nap is kind of nice.

Now he's starting to drop naps altogether--he only does it maybe once or twice a week and he's usually even crankier afterwards.

I thought I would mourn the loss of two naps with DS1 but one nap is awesome. He sleeps almost all afternoon. It was awesome when I was pregnant with DS2 because then I could get a good nap in.
I can't wait for them both to be on one nap.

We had a couple weeks of DD being more chill, and then the last two days she's been unbearable. Yesterday evening she was a whiny, hyperactive mess from the minute I picked her up until bedtime. This morning she woke up at 5:45 (she doesn't need to get up until 6:30, but she never sleeps that late anymore) and cried/whined basically until we left the house at 7:15.
She's fine if I am holding her or she's getting to do what she wants (mostly go outside). But if DH is holding her, or we say no, it goes downhill.

Life is so much easier with one nap. Nap time is still sacred in my house, so I do every thing early in the day. Errands first thing are amazing. No lines and less people!

I would be able to clean my whole house, learn another language, and write a college thesis if my kid napped four hours every day. I mean I'd probably just do some laundry and then binge Netflix, but I'd have grand plans.

Yes, I don't play with naptime. I very strategically plan DS2's morning nap so they sleep around the same time in the afternoon. I absolutely need the break in the day.

I would immediately move to 1 nap if it lasted 4 hours. I'm lucky if she naps 1.5 hours in the afternoon.

My kid just napped for three hours and I spent the whole time in bed on my phone, so I'm obviously not taking advantage of the time the universe granted me today.

I start with grand plans but I've been planted on the couch with a cup of tea and Netflix for approximately two hours now. Wash, rinse, repeat every day.

I just want to sit in silence. It was fucking wonderful to do absolutely nothing for a few hours.

That's his normal lately. How is that even possible? Like when is this happening? And what time does he go to bed and wake up? I can’t wrap my head around a 4 hour nap.
