I thought DS was a good baby, and then I had DD. She’s pretty magical and I’m scared of the 4 month regression. DS didn’t sleep well but I thought that’s how all babies were.

So for Hanukkah my parents bought Reese a gymnastics mat. It has been sitting in a box for months because we didn’t get motivated to make floor space. We finally set it up a week ago. Best thing ever. DD has been burning off so much physical energy and is regaining muscle strength. I am annoyed we waited so long to set it up.

Both my kids snubbed any and all pacifiers. It was the bane of my existence for months until I realized I wouldn’t have to wean them. This is the only thing my kid has ever been a unicorn about. I forgot to send one to day care one day and she slept ok without it so I just stopped giving them. The end.

I never gave my first two kids a pacifier. But they were happy babies and good sleepers and it was easy not to. I have begged this third child to please take one but she declines. It would ruin her “I hate everything” reputation probably.

As we were coming into the house tonight, two women in traditional saris walked past. From the porch, DD waves and says hello. She turns to me and goes “Wow mom! Look at their capes! They’re so beautiful! Like superheroes!”. I said “honey, those are called ‘saris’”. DD: “Sorry for what?” 🤦♀️

DD2 was eating a piece of bread while sitting in my lap earlier. She hasn’t been with me for awhile now (off being a toddler somewhere), and I just noticed a half-eaten piece of bread is sitting on my shoulder.

The baby just finished hour 2 of her nap. She didn't get much of a nap this morning so she needs it, and I'm enjoying it. I nodded off for 20 minutes while DD1 watched her tablet so I feel refreshed!
No idea what I want to do for dinner. I went to Costco so I'm loaded up on possible things to eat. But I'm not feeling creative.

Ds never took a pacifier either he just turned 6 and still sucks his thumb when he's tired so.... that's not great for the teeth either

I've got a couple other kinds too. I'm not even sure when I'll try one out. I just have always thought they were cute so I put them on the registry. As was the case with quite a few things.

I didn't even think about the fact that he might not take to them lol. Neither of my kids took a pacifier...not a single one of the many, many brands we tried. When they were newborns, they would take the advent ones from the hospital, but only in the car and only if my (and only my) finger was in the hole. I spent many nights at 3am crying trying to shove one in their pie hole to no avail. Life twin. I wanted DD to take one so badly, but no, she needed to be held and rocked in our arms WHILE WE WALKED AROUND THE ROOM AT 3 A.M. If we dared to sit (even in the rocker), she started screaming. I wanted her to take a paci more than anything in the world. DS, on the other hand, took a paci and he was 3 before he gave it up (reluctantly). The grass is never greener.

Have to survive an IKEA return with all my family in tow but later tonight I'm meeting emma at a steakhouse and it's the perfect dreary, pouring rain weather for a dim lounge with a bourbon. I want to meet you two at a steakhouse and drink bourbon. I can be there in about 10 hours.

I don't like wubanubs because they aren't ortho approved for kids with teeth and my kids are heavily paci dependent. The Mam ones were my fav for the baby being able to keep them in. +1 for Mam. DD2 took the Wubbanub for about a month, and then the Mam for another month. Then she found her thumb. DD1 never took any pacis despite trying many times.

I’m emotionally drained and told myself no booze until after 4pm. So now I have a glass of wine because it’s 4:15. We are currently a 1 car family and I’m stuck at the house for 4 days in a row and walking the neighborhood in the AM is my only outlet, because it’s too hot later in the day. I’m only on day 2 and going out of my mind. Do you have any friends or family that can take you on an outing?

We only did Nuks for the same reason. DD still asks for her binky every night and when she gets in the car. She's probably taking it to college at this point.

I’m very annoyed with H, the house is a mess, and I’m tired. H is putting the kid to bed and I should privacy be making dinner but I’m hiding in bed instead.

sweptaway That is so funny as I was about to say that when we were at the dollar store earlier I bought DD some Ring Pops. She has never had them before and I just gave it to her. The look of amazement on her face is priceless. The ability to wear her treat while eating it is just blowing her mind. Living her best candy life tonight! 💍🍭

DD wouldn't take the soothies, so our wubanub sat unused. I would take some back. I didn't even think about the fact that he might not take to them lol. Mines a paci addict and didn’t like those.

Lol now I'm thinking I should try to return all but 1. If he loves them I can buy more. I'd rather get all the returns out of the way beforehand. I don't have anyone IRL who needs them or I could gift some.

Pig tails, an orange t shirt, short length overalls with one side unhooked, maroon knee highs, converse, giant purple sunglasses. Ring pop really pushes it over the top

We got our closing disclosures today. We’re going to close next week even earlier than expected (12 days from our offer). I’m starting to let myself get excited

I went into DS’s 4 month appt in tears begging to get the sleep training go ahead. Begging. I don’t see the doctor again until 5 days after the baby turns 4 months. So I asked today if it would be alright if I started at 4 months exactly. No thank you to waiting five extra days. 5 days feel like 5 years when you’re not sleeping.

No one shank me, but P didn’t have a 4 month regression. She was already a pro at putting herself to sleep so it hasn’t really been an issue. I’m praying this will be DD. The universe owes me.
