I actually texted MH today that I had to do those things to make the baby stop crying (singing, pacing the bedroom, jiggling my arms just right) and he texted back, “Where was she while you were doing this? Just watching from the bed?”
It made me laugh for two hours. But I’m really tired so everything is funny right now.

I have wine open and waiting for H to come home and make up for the fiasco he turned yesterday into. I want the filet I had planned on yesterday! What happened after the birthday song was missed? so we got ready to go to work, I left for work, all while nothing was said, and then I got a text message when I got to work at like 9am. A text. He told me he didn't forget it was my birthday... but he certainly didn't remember either. We talked for a long time about it last night - and this isn't the first time that he has ignored something important to me - and he said he would make it up to me today.

I drank a glass of wine while DS and DD “snuck” and shared an orange pepper half. I am parenting so well tonight!

I had a terrible sleeper for 6 months until I finally sleep trained. This meme made me laugh through the delirium.

The chargers on the bus don’t work and the WiFi is being a dick. Fuck this bus.

Have to survive an IKEA return with all my family in tow but later tonight I'm meeting emma at a steakhouse and it's the perfect dreary, pouring rain weather for a dim lounge with a bourbon.

I am at work still but it is basketball night in our house so we will have pizza wings and drinks while cheering on the Warriors I’m selfishly cheering on the warriors so it will push lebron to leave the Cavs and sign with the 76ers. Come to me Bron Bron. We have yummy cheesesteaks here. You can have him. I would love for the Cavs to win without him, but I know it probably wouldn't happen. On the other hand my kid plays for Cavs youth sports and she would be devastated if he left. We usually root for them except for the finals

Oh, and I filed my divorce answer today with the courts. The countdown is on. I don't know why I am anxious like for you I guess. IDK. I guess I need to drink too on your behalf. I’m planning to eat a pint of Ben & Jerry’s

I'm sorry, filingjointly. My kid wouldn't sleep unless I bounced her in the Boba 4G while singing the Hamilton soundtrack. Once she was asleep I could take the carrier off and roll her onto the bed. She had diagnosed reflux but I couldn't get anyone to treat it. It finally got better at 15 months and she started sleeping through the night.

How many wubanubs (the pacifier with toy attached) does a baby need? I registered for 2 and have received 5. I was thinking of returning some of them if there's no reason why I need 5.

If you feel you must have them 2 of the same? IDK

Neither of my kids took a pacifier...not a single one of the many, many brands we tried. When they were newborns, they would take the advent ones from the hospital, but only in the car and only if my (and only my) finger was in the hole. I spent many nights at 3am crying trying to shove one in their pie hole to no avail.

My first two kids refused every brand of pacifier, so I didn’t even bother trying with number 3.

They were the only pacifiers DD would take, but she didn’t like them until about 4-5 months old. We had 3–1 lived in her crib, 1 lived on the diaper bag, and 1 lived around the house.

If I were you, I'd have one sample of a few different brands. Some babies are picky. DS1 hated wubanub but did well with Nuk. DS2 barely tolerated Nuk and started sucking his thumb as soon as he found it.

Definitely return like 3 if not 4 of them. If they love that type of paci you can get more but if they hate it - my kid - then it’s useless. My kid only takes maam pacis. 🤷🏻♀️ He has a puppy wubbanub that he will occasionally find in his toy box and bite the puppy. 🤷🏻♀️

I never gave DD wubanub because it seemed like more work. I also do not think babies look cute with a stuffed animal covering their face.

Thanks. I really didn't think we needed all 5 but MH wasn't sure. I'll return a few of them. I'd rather buy something else with that money.

I don't like wubanubs because they aren't ortho approved for kids with teeth and my kids are heavily paci dependent. The Mam ones were my fav for the baby being able to keep them in.

That sounds like DD. At 10 weeks she randomly slept through the whole night and I thought she was cured. Nope, she just needed a catch up and then went back to torturing me until a few weeks after I was able to night wean and sleep train her. Today I literally counted the days until I can sleep train this baby. I went into DS’s 4 month appt in tears begging to get the sleep training go ahead. Begging.

Both my kids snubbed any and all pacifiers. It was the bane of my existence for months until I realized I wouldn’t have to wean them.

DS1 only liked Nuks. DS2 would never take one. He just comfort nursed 24 hours a day.

Probably why I lost all that weight breast feeding DS2, come to think of it.

I don’t see the doctor again until 5 days after the baby turns 4 months. So I asked today if it would be alright if I started at 4 months exactly. No thank you to waiting five extra days.

Both my children were (one still is) very attached to their wubanub. Ds1 has Dogdog and DS2’s is Dino. Ds1 hated all pacifiers but wubanub. DS2’s is cool with anything but needs his Dino to snuggle with. goldenbird, I agree with others on having a few different ones. You never know what baby is going to like or refuse.
