I’m so nervous. If some of these CA districts end up double red in Nov I’m going to feel so defeated.

I'm so nervous about CA as well. I hate that it's close to home but I can't do anything about it, I'm in Huffman's district and he's in no danger at all.
I'm also feeling kind of frustrated about Feinstein and Newsom, even though I voted for both of them because I feel confident they will win. I do like DiFi but damn I really wish she would make space for someone new! She needs to be creating a succession plan. And Newsom is just so....slick. And -- real talk -- I'm sick of electing white men.

I'm over Dianne. She can go. I really voted to get all the olds out. Also, someone needs to tell Newsom to lay off on the concealer.

I voted ( NJ) did not vote for Menendez. I always find it curious that I've never been asked for ID when I go to vote..... I vote every time and I've been in my area for 5 years now, but still. I don't think they ever ask anyone for ID.

Results are rolling in from New Jersey. It's early, but many results are already looking decisive.
It's going to be a race between an embattled Menendez and Hugin, infamous for price gouging cancer patients. So, a real battle of moral authorities there.
Jeff Van Drew, a conservative Democrat, has a solid lead to vye for the seat from which Frank Lobiondo is retiring. The race for his prospective Republican Challenger is currently too close to call.
Joe Biden endorsee Mikie Sherrill is smoking the competition in the NJ 11th Democratic primary while the Republican primary in that district remains a horse race.

Again, it's early, but things are looking good in the New Mexico 2nd for Emily's List endorsee Xochitl Torres Small who has swept up 78.9% of the tallied votes so far.

I appreciate the good news posts dc2london ! I need to have something good for focus if tonight doesn't go well locally. ETA: there's a local supervisor race here that will really make me so sad if we lose.

I hope they keep the polls open late in LA county so the people who were LEFT OFF THE VOTER ROLLS can go get provisional ballots if they didn't know they could earlier.

I read an article where the reporter asked many residents of OC how they felt Rohrbacher was doing and the reporter noted that many felt "she was generally doing a good job". People don't even know who their reps are.

Sorry guys, I stayed up as late as I could. There's lots of coverage out there for your reading and viewing pleasure, but if you'd just like a quick breakdown, I'll do that here.
Former San Francisco mayor Gavin Newsom earned a spot on the ballot to become the next governor of California. He'll face off against Trump lackey John Cox. This race is likely to be about Trump, in a state where Trump is broadly disliked.
DiFi is looking highly likely to keep her seat in the Senate.
Democrats might be locked out of the race in the California 8th (San Bernardino County),
Pelosi, Swalwell, Khana, Sherman, Schiff and Eshoo will definitely be on the ballot in November to keep their seats, with Leader Pelosi earning over 70% of the vote in her district. Leader McCarthy looks pretty comfortable in his seat, and we need to keep an eye on him bc he's thirsty for the Speakership.
Lofgren, Napolitano and Lee are uncontested.

Mimi Walters is looking vulnerable in the CA 45th. She voted for ACA repeal and people are not happy. She captured just 52% of the vote while her democratic challengers took 40%.

As evidence that people don't pay attention, Devin Nunes grabbed nearly 70% of the vote in the CA 22nd, but Andrew Janz easily took a spot on the November ballot to challenge him.

Utter chaos in the CA 49th, as predicted (this is the seat being vacated by Issa). I expect recounts there.
It looks like Democrats escaped the threat of huge lockouts. There are still a couple of districts to keep a close eye on but Democrats should be proud of the effort made in California. These jungle primaries are nuts.
