My sweet precious son has really been pushing it lately. For his entire life, he has slept in our bed maybe 3 times. Until last Wednesday, when he climbed out of his crib. He has slept in our bed for all or part of 4 out of the last 5 nights. He used to go to sleep right after we did our little routine. I'd put him down awake and he would either talk to himself for a few minutes then go to sleep, or just roll right over and go to sleep. Now, he won't go to sleep unless we are in the the room. Plus he is waking up at different times. Sometimes it's 10 pm, or 2 am, or 5 am (and then he's up for the day). He will not go back down like he used to. I used to just let him cry a bit and he would go back to sleep. Now, he is hysterical and trying to get out of his crib. I hope this is some sort of developmental thing because I really do not believe he all of a sudden does not need as much sleep. I'm fucking over this. I'm exhausted and I do NOT want this to be a bad habit. WHEN WILL HE GO BACK TO SLEEPING ALL NIGHT IN HIS OWN BED?!?!?!? sorry. i feel your pain. i normally rock C and sing a couple of songs (including row row row your boat) and put him down half asleep and that's it. For the past 2 nights, we start to rock and I start row your boat and he sits up and says No. Round (and does a hand motion) for wheels on the bus. Every time i say the mommies on the bus, he sits up and says daddy. When I say the daddy's on the bus, he sits up and says mommy. Then i start the abc's and he sits up again and says no bee. Bee. Bee. Bee. for I'm bringing home a baby bumble bee. I sing that and then he will sit up and say round. When I say no, he says row (and makes a rowing motion). OMG kid, lay your freakin head down, listen to my terrible voice go thru the normal routine of row your boat, head shoulders knees and toes, itsy bitsy spider and the abc's and go the F to sleep. I normally have him in bed 10 minutes after we sit down. Past 2 nights it's been after an hour. And for the life of me, will someone tell me what the f the daddy's do on the wheels on the bus???

Question for all What kinds of pool safety flotation devices are you using for your kiddo or have had luck with for your older kids? My parents have an above ground 4ft deep pool. Last year A was happy to just float in a little baby raft but this year she wants nothing to do with just sitting (lol of course, toddler). Obviously she will be accompanied at all times. Any recommendations? Either DH or I are with Abigail at all times in the water. I don't think any of the flotation devices are small enough for her to use safely. My twins wear Puddle Jumpers in the pool. They started using them when they were 2.5 and they work great!

Ah, tank top season. Time for the same people in my office to say to me "I didn't know you had a tattoo on your back?!"

I'm mostly pissed because I did the hardcore sleep training. I was tough. He slept like an angel (when he wasn't sick). NOW I HAVE TO DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN.

I wish I knew more kids songs but on the other hand they seem pretty content with Bruno Mars and Adele. Poor DS is going to get to kindergarten and he will be like what are these songs?!

In the version I've heard it's "the daddy on the bus says I love you". Which is annoying to me

Don't wait any longer with this sleeping in your bed crap. It'll only get worse/harder the longer you wait. Just some tough love for you.

Pizzaslut my friend's little girl just went through something similar (minus the crawling out). She did her research and found it's really common at that age. Doesn't help much except to say it's normal and he'll figure it out again soon. Soon you'll be in Vegas partying it up and not worrying about this!

WWYD: DS has a baseball game in an hour and real feel is hovering around 100. The coach sends this text:
The heat has been a concern of a few parents now. I did talk to the league VP earlier, and he said we do not cancel because of the temperature. This is all for fun, and we are all volunteers. I would never force anyone to play if they felt it was unsafe. I understand, if your child cannot make it to the game tonight. I will be there. Please let me know if you do not plan on being there, if you haven't already. Thanks!!!!
DS uniform has pants that don't breathe. I will have DD1 and DD2 and there's no shade near our field. Do I bail? I'm leaning towards yes...

jess213 , you are making me want to take a Disney trip so badly. I'm trying to hold out until A is 6 but that is four years away......! After that, we want to do them regularly, but I just don't know if it would be worth it to start when she is much younger than that. We would if we lived in Florida. There are several houses up for sale in my neighborhood. just saying. DH's company has locations in Tampa and Orlando. He keeps saying he wants to transfer there solely so we can get the Florida resident discounts. #priorities

By the way, I'm starting my day by watching a 28 minute counterintelligence training video. There may not be enough coffee in the world to keep me awake. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk Way late, but I used to put water under my eyes from my cup and then fan my face to stay away during the worst work training videos. Disclaimer: I was 17 so there's that too haha.

I'm impressed by your quotes. We have to replace our upstairs unit. Quotes are between $12k and $16k. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk I'm going to pretend that's not a real estimate. I like jedi 's price range much better. jedi was right, it's because I'm in DC. Yours should be nowhere near mine! Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
