Play date was fun. About to make some lunch then nap for E. something water related after nap.
Oh and I signed s1 up for swimming. Starts tomorrow. Mil has taken one of her other grandsons for the summer for swim lessons. He'll do level 1 with us then spend 2 weeks with grandma and grandpa doing level 2. I'll be s1 less for two weeks. This makes me a little sad but happy that he'll be spending time with them given he rarely sees them.
He'll likely spend a week with my mom and dad too.

jess213, you are making me want to take a Disney trip so badly. I'm trying to hold out until A is 6 but that is four years away......! After that, we want to do them regularly, but I just don't know if it would be worth it to start when she is much younger than that. We would if we lived in Florida.

My sweet precious son has really been pushing it lately. For his entire life, he has slept in our bed maybe 3 times. Until last Wednesday, when he climbed out of his crib. He has slept in our bed for all or part of 4 out of the last 5 nights. He used to go to sleep right after we did our little routine. I'd put him down awake and he would either talk to himself for a few minutes then go to sleep, or just roll right over and go to sleep. Now, he won't go to sleep unless we are in the the room. Plus he is waking up at different times. Sometimes it's 10 pm, or 2 am, or 5 am (and then he's up for the day). He will not go back down like he used to. I used to just let him cry a bit and he would go back to sleep. Now, he is hysterical and trying to get out of his crib. I hope this is some sort of developmental thing because I really do not believe he all of a sudden does not need as much sleep. I'm fucking over this. I'm exhausted and I do NOT want this to be a bad habit. WHEN WILL HE GO BACK TO SLEEPING ALL NIGHT IN HIS OWN BED?!?!?!?

I always thing he has a fever because his torso is so hot but it's just how he is. He's usually in underwear over his diaper (so he doesn't take it off) when we're in the house.

Pizzaslut DD went through that a week or so ago. For us it lasted about 4 days and then she started again. Hopefully he will tonight!

Pizzaslut , just be persistent and remember that this too shall pass. I refuse to give in, and when DS was switched to the bed he would keep getting out and would lay by his door calling for us. It was a solid week or 2 that I would either go in and put him back to bed, rinse & repeat, or I would leave him on the floor until he fell asleep & then I'd transfer him back to bed. It was frustrating as all hell. He's at an age right now that he's going to push limits over and over. Just stick to your guns. I personally would let him CIO, but I know he's still in a crib, which would make me nervous knowing he could potentially get out again and could get hurt in trying to do so. Any chance you'd consider taking the rail off or trying him in a "big boy" bed?

I feel bad for H because I leave for Vegas the following weekend and I don't know how it will go with me being gone 5 nights. I've just been hoping it will pass.

Pizzaslut, I'm sure he'll be fine as long as you and your H are on the same page with how he is to handle him after he's put to bed. Keeping things consistent and being persistent is key across the board. And remember, there really is nothing wrong with letting him fall asleep on the floor

It's my weekend, so sorry all you M-F workweek suckers!
I've spent all day since we woke up trying to organize/clean up the house so we aren't living in what looks like a tornado strike zone. Mostly accomplished. We don't meet with the contractor until Wednesday to discuss new carpets & flooring, so everything is still torn up. And now the construction guys are here about putting in the sewer tank (our neighborhood is switching over from septic to sewer), so the outside of the house is about to match the inside--they need to dig up the old septic tank and then put in a smaller tank that will hook up to the sewer line they will be putting in later. At least Liam is SUPER excited about all the construction equipment. We have a book about diggers and dump trucks and other equipment, and he is obsessed with it. He'll be thrilled watching them at work.
It's 93 degrees out. I think I'm gonna see if the hubster will run over to Kmart and pick up one of those plastic splash pools for Liam. We had a small inflatable pool last year, but it was a pain to keep clean. We ended up throwing it out. I started mowing the lawn (it looks like a jungle), but had to stop because the construction guys were doing their thing. Oh well. We have a lifejacket for him, but he's never actually used it in water. I want to get him used to it because my brother has an above ground pool, and I want to take advantage of it this summer.

Since last Wednesday, he immediately goes to the side and tries to throw his leg over.

And remember, there really is nothing wrong with letting him fall asleep on the floor I just have to secure the furniture and baby-proof the room more. We have been waiting to see exactly how much we need to do, but apparently we need to do it all!!

If he is anything like my ds, he'd keep doing it over and over because he'd realize that it'll get me to go in. Kids can such little shits sometimes. This is true. A week or so ago for her nap she dropped her lovey out of the crib by accident (I was watching the monitor at the time) and she started crying "lovey bunny" so I went in and threw it back in the crib and left. I was worried that she would get it into her head that doing that would make me come back in, but it didn't. Well today I was watching the monitor for her nap and she threw it out of the crib on purpose. I didn't go in to give it to her, because she definitely would have used that against me. Luckily, she wasn't even upset about it and went right to sleep. I will be said if she is outgrowing her bunny

My parents and my IL's went in with each other to buy the kids a playhouse for their birthday. My parents will be leaving for FL next week for 5 weeks, so they're going to miss their actual birthdays. My dad is at my house now setting it up for them. I can't wait to see their reaction!
