redandblue, yeah that's crazy. I mean you'd think a clean criminal record and reference check would prove you'd never stolen before, even if you have shitty financials. I mean I know at the jail they do it, and there I think it's more realistic because you are actually being approached with bribes daily. But just to be a public servant?

Question for all What kinds of pool safety flotation devices are you using for your kiddo or have had luck with for your older kids? My parents have an above ground 4ft deep pool. Last year A was happy to just float in a little baby raft but this year she wants nothing to do with just sitting (lol of course, toddler). Obviously she will be accompanied at all times. Any recommendations? Still reading, but we use puddle jumpers.

I found this on the internet: "employers are most negative about you being sued for a debt and that results in a monetary judgment (a concern because there could be wage garnishments they would have to deal with) Next worst? Not paying your bills and having them land in collection."
I'm going to use that to soothe my worries and bury my head back in the sand haha.

RunsforWineandCarbs I tried to sprout an apple seed to show Walt. Like you would a bean I'm a clear glass.... It did not work. Let me know how yours go. I grabbed some seeds the other day to just throw outside. I might copy you and do them in pots inside for Walt to see.

skinandbones, i let the C pick out a shirt for him at target (it is a mickey mouse shirt), A picked out a card, I bought a funny shirt offline and will be picking up either a 6 pack of good beer or a tall beer that he likes. My dad got one of those charger pack things and a bottle of wine. I do not have the patience for homemade presents. And I am not very original. I might let the kids draw him a picture too.

Well we're doing AC and furnace. I think they've been around 5,000-6,000. Luckily we had started getting a few quotes before the AC broke. So it's not like this is a surprise cost I'm impressed by your quotes. We have to replace our upstairs unit. Quotes are between $12k and $16k. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk I'm going to pretend that's not a real estimate. I like jedi 's price range much better.

Lordy. Spent about 90 minutes at the playground this morning and I'm so sweaty and gross. How the heck are we going to deal with Disney in August?!?

jess213, find a bottle with a fan on it so you can spray yourself with water. wear light clothing, and drink lots and lots of water all day every day. you will survive. plus, if you do half days you can jump in the pool when you get back to your hotel. ideally, i would go first thing in morning, home after lunch. pool time for a few hours and go back for night time activities.

RunsforWineandCarbs I think we're going to split up halfway through the day, with one of us taking the girls back to the room for a nap while the other stays with DS in the parks...and maybe one day we'll all head back to the hotel for pool time. When it was just us and DS we marathoned the parks like champs (he napped in his stroller and we were only back to our hotel to sleep...it was awesome! And also an August trip haha), but it seems to get more complicated after we add more kids!

Chiming in on flotation devices...I don't think we're going to do the puddle jumpers, but use the kind that they strap on that are just on their backs. We call those "bubbles," and they are the type that you can remove layers so they get less and less assistance to float as their swimming skills get stronger. The nice thing about the bubbles is they teach the kids how to handle getting their face wet/in the water more than the puddle jumpers which mostly keep the kid's face out of the water.

I usually use a full on life jacket because it just makes me feel more relaxed. We have them for boating so might as well not buy something new I let DS swim with no flotation but DD is still in the jacket.

nochill I am going to hazard a guess and say no it's not legally binding. I think the gray area for workers is where to draw the line. If you think it's assault and she can't consent and intervene, and they decide that it wasn't, you'd be out a job. I'd say it is more fear factor than actual legality if I had to guess.

- Afternoon all! I started my day with the dentist and then have been in meetings since. One more to go and then I might be able to focus on other work.
-Re puddle jumpers. We don't use any sort of floatie, the kids won't wear it and I am within arms reach at all times anyway.
This past weekend my 4 year old thought it would be fun to jump into the pool 15 feet away from me while I had the baby. I swam competitively for a long time, I am faster than he thought, and he was in trouble.

nochill lol welcome to my BMB. I can't internet today. I mean yesterday I posted in that sleep deprived thread that my baby was an O16 baby that came in September. I realized after the fact that it was '15, not '16, and I haven't fixed it yet. So even I don't know what BMB I belong on. We've been collecting new members since the move, so feel free to stay 😂

I'm actually busy today. I just had lunch and watched Ep2 or OITNB. Back to work.
I did find some time to get in a nice sized Carters order for the kids too. Such cute stuff! I got 5 tops and 5 shorts for each kid plus a bathing suit for dd and a rash guard for ds. All for $135. Not too shabby.
