Good morning! Work killed me last week. Thanks for letting me bitch about it. This week isn't looking much better, but I'll try to minimize my whining.

By the way, I'm starting my day by watching a 28 minute counterintelligence training video. There may not be enough coffee in the world to keep me awake.

They've even included cheesy reenactments of spies in the government. It's like a bad history channel show. But fewer aliens. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

jedi what are your quotes ranging around? We have to get both quotes for a new one plus new duct work throughout the house. Well we're doing AC and furnace. I think they've been around 5,000-6,000. Luckily we had started getting a few quotes before the AC broke. So it's not like this is a surprise cost I'm impressed by your quotes. We have to replace our upstairs unit. Quotes are between $12k and $16k. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

@shakeitoff I had to drop stitchers. I couldn't keep up with all my tv shows. Heck, my Tivo is still hovering around 90% full and the regular season ended a couple weeks ago. Is it worth adding it back in?

Morning ladies! A slept later than normal so that gave me the chance to shower and put the house back in order. It's amazing how the house tends to explode when you're too busy to straighten it for a few days.
Just made some sausage, spinach, mozz, egg cups.. They look pretty good.. Thanks Pinterest!
Going over a friend's house this morning to play in their kiddie pool. I think it's already 85° .. Yuck.

Question for all
What kinds of pool safety flotation devices are you using for your kiddo or have had luck with for your older kids? My parents have an above ground 4ft deep pool. Last year A was happy to just float in a little baby raft but this year she wants nothing to do with just sitting (lol of course, toddler). Obviously she will be accompanied at all times. Any recommendations?

Dropped 10 seconds in her butterfly, 2 in her Freestyle and 4 in her Backstroke. She was also in two relays. Thanks for asking! GTG's are so much fun! You guys probably picked a good time to leave, haha, it was a rough few days. I had to check out because I couldn't keep up.

This is also a conspiracy theorist's dream. Remember, with the internet they can get you anytime, anywhere! Don't accept random friends on Facebook - they're Russian spies!

taketheshot, we use this with A - Puddle JumperWe bought one for C also, but he doesn't know how to balance himself upright just yet. These look better for kids around 2.. I've never used but it looks like they will be more stable.. Toddler friendly

Any recommendations? When we visit my family with an in ground pool, I have P wear a puddle jumper at all times (in the yard, etc). It still stresses me out. Within the actual pool, she might use the puddle jumper, but if she wants to practice swimming, we just use a noodle tied around like a pretzel, because that's what they use in her swim classes at the Y, so she's comfortable with that.

skinandbones , how's little feeling today? Did you get to enjoy drinks on the deck last night. Everyone seems healthy at this point. Little threw up after the birthday party he went to on Saturday but we think he drank the soda DH gave him to quickly. Major side eyes to DH who thought giving a 3 year old a whole can of soda was a good idea. But he threw up in DH's car so he got to deal it. Natural consequences and all that. It was the weekend of vomit.

taketheshot, we used a puddle jumper for DS1. We had the help him balance in it about this age. But last summer, he was a pro with swimming in it.

So while Littlest was sleeping off the crude with his epic 4 hour nap, I managed to clean the house. The only thing I didn't get to was vacuuming. I hate vacuuming. I think our vacuum is dying. So I asked DH to take care of it.
Turns out, that I just suck at vacuuming. I think DH was giving me side eyes as he was talking about all the dirt he picked up.
Turns out we don't need a new vacuum. I just need to stop being the one to vacuum.

Morning!
DH got invited in this morning to submit his security check. They are doing a criminal record check, credit check, and security clearance so I have alllll the hope. Does anyone know why they'd do a credit check for a gov job?

CestLaVie, the reason I've heard is to review how much debt you have to determine how likely you are to accept bribes. But I don't know how accurate that is. I know someone who does security clearance checks but they are kind of a cynic.

skinandbones, ah. Well I hope that's not the thing that denies him! That would really suck haha we need this job to get rid of some of that debt..

I mean I know he always makes his payments on time and has good credit. But we def have debt due to school and this unemployment. A credit check sort of feels a bit discriminatory in a way... Like people who most need the job will prob fail it.

CestLaVie my H works for a trucking logistics company and they have a contract with the military/gov. ALL of their employees need drug and credit checks. Even if they don't do anything with any of the military contracts. It's a huge PITA. I've asked why credit checks...apparently (not sure who told him) but they have said people with credit issues are more likely to steal...which is huge BS. And when they legalize marijuana, they will still test for it and not be hired if they test positive. FX for your husband!

Morning everyone. I don't want to Monday. It's nice here today but the rest of the week looks kind of rainy. I really want H to be able to finish off the deck, so I hope the forecast improves.
I think B is getting sick, he's super stuffy and kind of off...
No big plans this week except I'm getting my hair done on Thursday!

Like people who most need the job will prob fail it. All of this. This is exactly what DH and I have said about his works background screening... Also (apparently) the drug screening is ridiculous...like I guess weed stays in your system 3 months or something, but meth is out in like a day or so...
