Gosh I'm glad I'm not the only one with a baby who's appetite doesn't end! AJ ate 2 extra bottles today and soooo much food I had to cut off H the other night he was inhaling fruit after his dinner.

The baby LOVES bing cherries! I obviously cut them into little pieces and take out the pit. He would eat them forever if I let him.

Bumping to ask whether your babies have started taking less milk recently? DS is only 8.5 mo, but his appetite has grown. I’m trying to remember when bottle sizes started dropping or dropping a bottle all together. He’s still chugging (pun intended) along with his (3) 5.5 oz bottles while I’m gone, but I’m wondering if I should cut back to 5 oz bottles.

She would eat nothing but broccoli and strawberries every day all day if I let her.

N still takes his two 5oz bottles at daycare and still nurses the same number of times but has cut back on the length of time he nurses. He used to nurse for 20 minutes but now he’s usually done after about 10. I could probably replace one with solids and he wouldn’t care at all. I get nervous about it because I’m not sure what I’m “supposed” to do but he eats like a champ, food barely misses his mouth anymore. Between 10 and 11 months I think DS1 dropped two bottles/nursings. ETA: N is 9.5 months

DD2 has dropped almost an entire bottle. She eats 5 oz in the morning, 5ish oz early afternoon, maybe a couple of oz before supper, an 8 oz bottle at bedtime and anywhere from 5-8 oz overnight. I've tried to bump up the other bottles to drop the overnight feed but she has no interest. She eats solids all day long. A lot still misses her mouth, but she's way more interested in food than formula. ETA: she's 9 months and has been doing this for a couple of weeks now.

He was eating three meals a day by like 11 months and it was a struggle to get him to finish a bottle beginning at 9ish months. I can't remember when we reduced the number of bottles, but we stopped bottles/formula and switched to cow's milk the day after his 1st birthday with no issues (and with pediatrician approval).

ldubhawksfan H is still taking 4 6oz bottles a day and the pediatrician was surprised. She said we will start to see it go down and I the week before his appointment he started to not finish all his bottles. cnf H would eat strawberries and sweet potatoes all day long if I let him.

B is still taking 3 almost 4oz bottles each day at daycare about 3hrs apart, but he is going longer stretches on weekends. There is another boy who is a month older and doing similar feeding and both of them are starting to fight their bottles.
We told daycare they can start doing solids after Labor Day, so he will have 3 months to get adjusted. He’s to the point where he could care less about his purees but can pound back some Cheerios. I need to come up with more “meal” ideas since we normally eat after bedtime.

BabyWaffle is on two 8oz bottles a day and 2 purées. She's started wanting more at lunch so we've upped it to 300gr and she takes 200gr of fruit in the afternoon.
I've tried giving her pieces of banana and avocado and though she didn't mind when I fed her them, she doesn't get she needs to put them in her mouth so she just smashes the pieces in her fingers. I guess we should just let her play around with it until she gets it?

rooskie I'm trying to figure out more meals for H without resorting to "kid" food just yet because he seems to be such a good eater. Waffle I would just let her play, she'll catch on soon enough.

Poor Jojo gets a lot of the same meals. I really need to make some of misskilljoy's recipes to put in the freezer 😬 she eats a lot of scrambled egg with grated zucchini or carrot, lots of chicken, lots of cheese, lots of yogurt, lots of whole grain toast. Those are things I always have on hand for her that I know she'll eat. Fruit is hit or miss for her oddly!

Also, it's interesting BFing and not giving bottles because I have absolutely no idea how much milk she consumes! I just have to trust it's working. She goes way longer between now during the day, about 5 hours between wake up, morning and afternoon, and then before bed is a bit sooner.

blabbermouth chicken seems to be the one thing H doesn't eat, we keep offering but he's not interested lol. We have a lot of repeats over here too. He eats yogurt and sweet potatoes almost daily.

Hm AJ has been eating more bottles lately, not less. 3 8oz bottles, plus real food, and 2 6oz snack bottles in between meals. No signs of slowing down either. He even had an extra 5oz today! Kid eats tons of food during mealtimes too, plus water

What sippy cups are you guys using? Ds2 doesn't take a bottle but I want to get him used to a sippy cup. I have some of the munchkin 360 ones that he seems to just throw off his tray.

AJ likes the nuby sippys. Ds3 still uses the munchkin 360 cups. I tried to get AJ into the 360 ones since I already have so many but he prefers a spout

L is 8.5 months and was pushing the bottles away. We went from 5oz to 4-4.5.

L is also pretty much over purees and wants to independently eat. He's all about shoving anything into his pie hole. HAHA. So he eats what we eat (even though he has no teeth) and is a happy camper.

C is a straw expert. I hate traditional sippy cups and both girls struggled with them. E went right to a straw too. Our favorites are the kids Camelback bottles. C can crush one, though she's quite proficient with a regular plastic straw at this point too.

She's using nuby sippys right now because they have a soft spout (almost bottle like). And occasionally take and toss ones if I can hold them. Once she figures it out well (and she's almost there) I'll move to playtex sipsters. They're my favourite, spill proof, cute and cheap. DD1 still uses hers and DS occasionally asks for the one we have left of his.

We alternate between the 360 for learning and a nuk sippy cup if I want her to actually consume water and make less of a mess. Sometimes she does fine with the 360, sometimes she spits it out.I guess it depends on her mood. laurensc927, glad you son is pretty repetitive too, makes me feel better!

grumpycat we have an array that were gifts but I bought a munchkin weighted straw one that H does really well with. He did ok with the 360 but once we saw he could drink out of my water cup using a straw we went that route.

I'd like him to use a straw cup but he just bites on the straw. Any advice to get him to suck?

I'd like him to use a straw cup but he just bites on the straw. Any advice to get him to suck? Start with a Camelback. They sell the kids ones everywhere and you can find them for pretty cheap. The bite valve is the same big size as on the adult ones. Its soft and huge and easy to latch onto.

As a meal idea, the girls love meatballs, beans, and pancakes. I also got broccoli bites that DS used to enjoy, but haven’t tried hem yet. They also adore crackers (more than bread). We also let them try some (non spicy) chicken chili, and they really liked it.

We use the take n toss sippies. They are cheap and easy to clean. Ds1 still uses them when he has milk in the morning on the couch. C can grab on to the sides of even the “big kid” ones and drinks water from them easily.
