Yikes misskilljoy, glad it didn't get any worse. DD ate an entire egg scrambled with kale. Scrambled egg is one thing she just devours! Any other suggestions for similar things she might enjoy? She's also been liking the yogurt and fruit pouches frozen and then thawed a bit. Baby smoothie. Similar things to scrambled eggs, or other things to hide in them? Any veggies are great in eggs if you want to hide them - zucchini, spinach, peppers. I have a recipe somewhere for turkey "sausages" made without casings so they're great finger food because they fall apart. Also, lumpy/thick mashed potatoes are good!

Recipes. Forgive the state of my recipe book, it's... been used. A lot. Ignore the instructions to turn the Sausages INTO SNAILS, no one has time for that. 😂 I made these as freezer meals to have on hand for easy lunches, snacks, dinners when we were having stuff the baby couldn't have. But we also liked them (the sausages and salmon cakes especially) well enough to just eat them ourselves for a simple meal. Veggie bites/fritters: Salmon cakes: Sausages: Cheesy pasta: Chicken & potato balls:

grumpycat, turns out we used to have Auvi-q here under a different name. There was a recall and the rights to the med were sold, and since then it hasn't been available in Canada. 🤷♀️ I found something that said it was returning for Jan 1 of this year, but only in the 0.15 and 0.3 doses, so identical to Epipen Jr. and Epipen. Managed to get them while the government is still covering 100% of costs for children's prescriptions (they're going to cut that program very soon for people with private insurance though, regardless of how much your insurance covers... 🙄) so I'm feeling good about that.

I gave N the ice cream cone minus the ice cream today at McDonald’s today. Figured he’d gnaw on it a bit and that would be that. He devoured it. I looked over and it was half gone already.
Guess he liked it. 😂😂😂😂

It's eggs. I gave him scrambled eggs this morning and he is covered in hives again. Weird because he'd had them before without an obvious reaction, but from what I'm reading, continued exposure to eggs can make the reaction stronger next time. I did have suspicions while BFing because of some GI symptoms in him after I'd had eggs.
He's had things like banana bread with egg in them before without issue (I thought, anyway) but I'll keep them out of his diet entirely for now, until I get in to see the allergist.

From what I understand, a lot of people who have a sensitivity to eggs on their own are fine when it's baked/cooked into something else. Dont ask me why, I haven't looked up the science of it yet. I suspect with the baking it's likely a denaturing of the protein because of temperature but I'm not sure. SaveSave

I only ever had one who absolutely could not have egg at ALL, and she had a bajillion other allergies and eczema.

She does fine if it’s very well baked (so extra long cooking time) but will react to regular cake. She’s almost 3 and her allergist has my sister do baked egg challenges with reducing cooking time to hopefully decrease the sensitivity. I guess most kids will outgrow it.

Welcome to the shitty FA club! I read that most kids outgrow egg allergies by five so fingers crossed. I haven't tried anything with eggs baked in it yet with ds2 but need to soon ish :/

Anyone have ideas for lunch options? Daycare is back open this week and I want to start sending food not purees. We don't always have dinner leftovers (or we take them) so I want to keep some stuff on hand I can throw together.

I either make a chicken in the crockpot to use a lunch meat during the week or buy a bag of frozen chicken strips (precooked just need to heat). I try not to do much of the 2nd option because salt but whatever. pasta frozen mixed veggies (super quick to heat up) hard boiled eggs SaveSave

Pasta Quesadillas are a favourite over here I also try to bake a few extra chicken breadts a week and then use them lunches for N all week. I give it to him just plain or in a quesadilla or a wrap. Eta: meatballs! N devoured them yesterday. You could Make/freeze a bunch. Even turkey meatballs. And then just send 3-4 along.

Also, pancakes (I bought frozen organic - figured organic balanced out the frozen part). We also did mini muffins.

I'm lazy and either just buy hillshire farms or grab and go at the wegmans deli.

Anyone else's bottle fed baby getting super fussy with their bottle? We had this issue with DS, he never wanted to drink his formula but would happily pound back solids like it was his job. I hid a lot of formula in smoothies, oatmeal, yogurt. With DD2's suspected milk issue, I"m going to have to be super creative.

snuff9861 super impressed with your baby's pallette! We are still on purees here but think will quickly move to real food as it was around the same time as HK I think. Still no teeth but she can gum things to death.

Still no teeth but she can gum things to death. Haha yea she's loving food. It seems food is not loving her though. I'm not feeding her any solids for the next week or so and then will have to reintroduce one food at a time to see what's triggering her vomiting. I'm fairly confident it's not milk because formula fed and was doing well. Could be lactose but I feel like she'd be in more distress. Sigh. SaveSave
