It's DS birthday today, I can't believe I have a 3 year old! Happy Birthday to him!

Any advice for an almost 2 toddler boy who shrieks at the top of his lungs and kicks as hard as he can for EVERY diaper change. I've tried singing, distraction, toys, TV, a second pair of hands, pinning him down, letting him tell me when he wants to be changed (which is never), counting down, bribes, etc. I'm over it. It's not a problem with the wipes or diapers, and somehow he's had very few diaper rashes.

Sorry the distractions aren't working. I have NO patience for kicking while changing a diaper, especially when I'm pregnant. There's NO kicking my belly (I change diapers on the floor). Does he do that for everyone or just a special treat for you?

pbandjelly, you've named basically all of the strategies i would have suggested. have you tried huggies' pull-on diapers? they're slightly more expensive but at least if it's just a pee diaper you can slide off the old one and slide on the new one while your DS is standing.

I haven't tried them, but I've been considering it. Maybe I'll pick some up next time I'm at the store.

It sounds like you're on the right track with trying to distract him and trying to find the cause. But it seems he's just being a stubborn toddler for you.

pbandjelly, I would try to change his diaper standing up (even if not a pull-up). Its a hard phase but hopefully it passes quickly.

pbandjelly, my 2.5 year old fights me most diaper changes. The only thing that makes her lie mostly still is her tablet, or my cell. I don't have the energy to wrestle her down right now, soooo that's what she gets. cornflakegirl, I have to fast all night for the 3hr. D: Nothing after midnight. There is a high probability I will throw up. And HBD to your 3 year old! tarheelmom, DD will turn 3 in August and still shows no interest in potty training. And I don't want to push her, and deal with relapses when I have a newborn, so I'm not worrying about it yet. Maybe they'll be one of those kids who decide on their own to train, and have no accidents ever and train in like 2 days? A girl can hope.

Does that mean you're off pelvic rest, too? Tentatively. I am not supposed to overdo any "activity" 😂 Team starfish, gooooo 😂😂😂

I used to get so frustrated, the kicking I think was the worst! I basically just tried to distract him as best as I could. I had 2 shelves hanging above the changing table and would leave little cars and trucks up there to give to him. I also remember always covering him with a wipe during poop changes since his hands were all over the place.

kaeguri DS1 was 2y11mo when DS2 was born. we got him PTd about 2 3/4 (so, a few months before DS2 came). it was sooooo nice not having 2 in diapers. DS2 is currently 2y9mo. they tried working on potty training with him at daycare a couple of months ago but he wasn't too motivated. just within the past couple of weeks he has suddenly taken more of an interest in it and has actually told us when he has to go a few times. with DS1 it just clicked one day and then he was trained pretty rapidly after that, so i'm expecting that DS2 will be PTd by the time #3 comes. so don't give up hope! tarheelmom we have the same situation with DS2 needing to be PTd before he moves to the preschool room in the fall. peer pressure helps a lot! i'm going to be talking that up soon, about how his friends will be in the big kid school and you have to use the potty, etc. etc. i do need to get myself more motivated to do underwear time with him at home, though. we've just been so busy lately that i'm reluctant to have one more thing that causes messes for me to clean up. hopefully the weather will start to be consistently warmer next month and we can do underwear time out in the yard.

I'm currently playing phone tag with the appointment office, soooo who knows lol. Hoping I can drink it at home again and wait it out, then I can do it whenever, but if I have to stay at the dr office, then I can only do it Mon or Tues. I just want to get it over with.

pbandjelly I’d like to offer solidarity more than advice because my almost-2-year old is also a nightmare during diaper changes. I have noticed that he likes to be “in charge” so if I ask him to lie as still as he can then it sometimes works (maybe 10% of the time, but it’s better than nothing!). I don’t think he ever has asked for a diaper change. Whenever I ask him if I can change him he always says “nooooooooooo!” I have more luck if I try to psych him up a bit “let’s go get a clean diaper!” It’s a bit of a crap shoot though.

You're lucky if you can drink it at home! My OB sends you to Quest to do it so I'm basically stuck sitting there for 3hrs. I'm doing mine either Monday or Friday.

Unfortunately, for the 3hr, you have to get a fasting blood draw before you drink it, then draws every hour after so you’re likely stuck there. You have to pass at least 3 of the 4 draws to not be diagnosed as GD.

With DD, I failed the one hour by 1 freaking point, but passed the 3 with a perfect "right in the middle" score.
I am so tired and am fighting a headache. I didn't sleep well, then my DD went on her first field trip with school and I was worried because she was nervous. Then I didn't feel this baby moving very much so I was anxious for my cervical scan and ultrasound. Everything is fine though. Guess she was tired from the past few very active days.

This little girl is mostly active in the evenings and there were a couple days where I didn't feel her as much. I think having an anterior placenta also affects it too (I know many of us have one but I can't remember if you both do) so depends how she's positioned in there, but of course it's still hard not to worry.

So much movement! Today, not quite as much. But I have felt him every few hours, and the movements have been a bit sharper when I do feel them. Still trying to get a handle on when his typical active times are. It seems to be all over the place right now.

I'll say it's nice not 'needing' to use my doppler every week since I can feel him moving every day. I sure got my money's worth out of that thing in weeks 11-22 though.

I'll find out on Wednesday when my GTT is. I've been on an odd week appointment schedule since I had my first appointment at 9 weeks. She's been going with every 4 still, so 13/17/21/25 and on. So I'm curious to see if she says 4 weeks again at 29 weeks with the GTT then also, or has me do it at 28 weeks.

She didn't mention it so I hope it's not like I go in next week and she tells me to set it up for the following week. All she said the 25 week would be in fundal height and doppler. I'm sure I'll learn what the plan is.

I was already going every 2 weeks though, but I'm sure she'll give you a heads up.

Does anyone here have a pregnancy support belt? My belly feels extra stretched whenever I’m up on my feet and it’s very uncomfortable so I wonder if one of those would help?
